  1. At least with Tomb Raider, part of the line is inside with A/C Remember back in the day...they had "beast" footprints, painted in yellow on the concrete where the line for The Beast would extend...almost to the pizza joint if I remember correctly. I guess they blacktopped over those many moons ago....
  2. I was listening to the radio on my morning drive to work a couple weeks ago, and they were quizzing people about what this ride at Kings Island was called originally. The winner that called in said "Enchanted Voyage" and was right...then the DJ said "Do you know what it is now?" The girl said she didn't know, because she hadn't been to Kings Island in years. The DJ said "Phantom Theater", and then they all go "ooooh yeahhh, that's right!" I tried calling in to the station to tell them how WRONG they were (I *wish* Phantom Theater was still there!) but never got through.
  3. Whooooo it's getting thick!
  4. Oh yes! I saw one in Norwood yesterday....its got a life-size hearse on the side...creepy!
  5. Ahh yes....the powder blue AMC Pacer with the flames......
  6. Oh calm down....you want your blood pressure to rise? I'm just making an observation. I don't think I have ever seen you post something positive in response to another's post since I've been on here. I'm sure you have...with 9000+ posts, I'm sure there is SOME positivity in there SOMEWHERE...I'm just saying that I have yet to see it. I think your comment about "if you don't like my posts, you don't have to read them" is hysterical. Really?? You comment behind just about every single sentence on this forum!! How could I NOT read them? They're everywhere!!! I'm not downing anybody's right to say what they want....I'm just saying that maybe you could remember what your mother taught you about "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all." As far as my Crypt comments...I don't expect you to agree with me (Heavens no!)...and I'm sure you posted some sort of negative response to it (I'll jump over there and look when I'm done here)...but its just my opinion. As far as I know, everyone on this board has one.

    The Crypt

I agree that the Crypt is certainly lacking. I never rode it when it was "Tomb Raider" but I hear the effects were much better. Seems all the theming is while you're waiting in line, then once you actually get INTO the ride...its like you're just sitting in a big warehouse. Whaaat? I rode it for the first time yesterday, and the friend I went with said that when it was Tomb Raider, there were a lot more special effects, like artificial fog and water would spray at you. No more I guess. Now you just spin around in a garage. Nice. Boring.
  8. Dan, Don't pay any attention to "The Interpreter". I've only been on this board a VERY short time, but I've noticed in the many many posts that I've read, The Interpreter is like a big bucket of cold water...he just likes to dump on everyone and whatever they have to say...he's like Professor Doom. Bleh.
  9. I don't doubt that it is much less expensive to rebuild in a developed area....What I'm saying is, they would bring in more people (read: more money) if they expanded the park (where they can) rather than removing attractions that people LIKE to put other ones in their place. That's all...I'm not saying it would be easy...or even feasible in some areas....but it would make people HAPPY - and isn't that what an "amusement" park is all about?
  10. Spoken like someone that's never ridden it. Well, I rode it...and I'd have to say it was rather boring. Through a loop and back. Yay. I suppose back in the day, it was all the rage. BTW...it was named "Screamin" Demon by the locals. The official name was just "The Demon".
  11. Good call. You know what I don't understand...Kings Island owns hundreds of acres of land. However, instead of building upon the land that lies behind The Beast and such that is UNTOUCHED, they want to remove popular rides (Antique Cars for example) and build stuff in their spot (BLSC)...what kind of crap is that?
  12. 1. Phantom Theater 2. Winterfest 3. Playing The Outfied in line for The Beast 4. Saltwater Circus 5. Skylab Getting rid of Phantom Theater was the dumbest thing they ever did. That was one cool experience!
  13. You know what sucks...Kings Island isn't open until 11pm anymore (outside of Halloween Haunt) like it used to be. Back in the day (I'm 36), our parents would drop us off at Kings Island at 8am. International Street opened at 8am and the rides opened at 9am...and we would stay until 11pm when the fireworks were. Now its 10am to 10pm. Sucks. Luckily, I have a season pass, so we go up only for a few hours at a time...but it's still a bummer. All this changing ownership has really brought down KI.
  14. Interesting question! I've had this problem. I'm a "big girl", and about 6-7 years ago, I had to stop riding The Beast because I was just too big to fit in it. At the time, I was 5'9" and about 260lbs. I carried it well, I'll have to say, but I had a big butt. At the time, I was a 42D also. Believe it or not, The Beast was the only ride I could no longer fit in. It was because of that little divider thingy they have between the seats. If that wasn't there, I would have been golden! The other ride that I was borderline on was Drop Zone. If I was 5lbs heavier, I wouldn't have fit. Also, the other ride that was quite uncomfortable for me was the Monster. I love tha ride, but if you recall, when they "close up" the bottom part over you, there are two metal bars. One is chest level, and one is in your lap. That lower one cut into my belly and I almost couldn't breathe, so I stopped riding that one as well. That was years ago, and I've lost over 70lbs since then. I went to Kings Island for the first time in 7 years last weekend and I could ride everything! I missed The Beast and now I can fit in with no problem! YAY!!!!
