  1. Maybe, just maybe, this will finally be the off season Racer gets some paint. Please KI. Red, white and blue while you are at it.
  2. I do not see me ever riding one of those again in the future. My last ride on one was not pleasant.
  3. I can't wait for track to start going in place.
  4. It looks like the weather is going to be perfect this year for the fair. Hopefully they see an attendance boost because of it. If not, it won't be a good excuse this time.
  5. I will be renewing mine, but with the price increase I am not sure I will get passes for the rest of the family. Seeing they have all the bring a friend days now for $14.95 it will be much less money no more than my wife an daughter go...plus with Kingdom passes still at 59.95...I might just keep there's there instead. I got us all passes to both parks this year. We will get our money's worth but just barely...decisions.
  6. The location for the announcement is in a place that can only be found by those who know where it's at. For the win.
  7. How long was the construction time of Cars Land? I would assume it would be similar to that. I only hope that they are able to build both of these expansions without taking down Midway Mania or Star Tours for any length of time...
  8. This looks amazing but just how long is it going to take Disney to build these lands? They have a history of taking many years on projects of this size and Hollywood studios needs a major boost ASAP. So much has closed and if it takes 5 plus years to realize these expansions what does that do to park attendance in the meantime. I have a good friend that visits WDW at least once a year typically. He is completely skipping this year and possibly next just because too much is under construction.
  9. I generally get off loopers feeling at least a little bit dizzy, not so this time. It was not super intense but fun.
  10. I finally got to ride T3 yesterday. Would you all think I am crazy if I said I actually really enjoyed it? No it is not B&M smooth but the new train without the headbanging restraints really changed the experience for the better. Thumbs up. Storm Chaser is coming along as well. All of the old track is gone as well as most of the structure that is not going to be re-used. RIP Stella.
  11. Has there been any significant demolition yet on Thunder Road? I searched online for pictures earlier and could not come up with any.
  12. Yes, but it is more fun to think about Dolly sitting down and designing this beauty.
  13. It should. It is costing a lot more and has a much better location. I am very excited for both, but Lightning Rod blew away my expectations. Well done Dolly.
  14. This is very exciting and incredibly interesting for me. I love history as much as amusement parks. This is both in equal measures.
  15. I am sure this will lead to bigger things for him. Besides it sounds like it is a labor of love.
  16. I figured as much. It's been awhile since I have seen a fight break out at an amusement park. Believe it or not the last place was Holiday World a few years ago...
  17. There has been a safety officer in the section of the line under the station every time I have rode this year. Is this where the fights happen?
  18. Did it still only run one train? I honestly don't remember it. I was a teenager then and was not remotely close to being an enthusiast so I would have had no idea the importance of such a thing.
  19. Really, when? I never knew that. Why would you remove it?
  20. This guy just asked if we had tickets. When I said no, He asked how many we needed and then punched it into his little device that printed out a voucher. I was shocked and still expecting to pay parking but then they said that was taken care of too. I just found it very strange they turned away money. If the goal was to get more people into the fair then it probably been a much better idea to give away free tickets to people not already at the gate waiting to get in. It was great for us. Between that, my KK pass and the 10 Kroger tickets I got for the rest of the family we had an ultra cheap day. After this though it did not surprise me too much that the fair did not do well last year. Perhaps they need to do something different to draw people in. The fair has changed very little since I was a kid. Imagine what attendance would have been like without KK being open last year.
  21. Last year I went to the fair with my wife and daughter. I had my money ready to purchase tickets and parking. As I was the next car to enter the tolls I was given tickets for the entire family and parking? That was at least 3 paying customers they did not get money from. Why was this done? At the time I did not care because I saved some money that I eventually spent inside Kentucky Kingdom. The guy was standing out there giving tickets to anyone who did not already have them. He was printing them out from a little machine so I assume he was there in some official capacity. Clearly their paid attendance problems can not all be blamed on KK, or the heat, or the rain.
