  1. One thing I hope they do with the shed is do some minor changes every year to keep it fresh. Even after a few re-rides, it kind of loses its impact. It's a nice little touch of added character for the ride, but it definitely would benefit with some variety.
  2. I wonder if B&M was in the running for the Knott's project since what they are actually getting is suspiciously similar to a dive coaster a la Valravn.
  3. ^^My only issue with that layout is that there are some peculiar smaller elements after rather big elements.
  4. ^He also slightly predicted the Timber naming epidemic.
  5. ^I've seen it. No way does it have the design features that make Flyers more comfortable. It looks more like a knee jerk design than something they put effort into, and, BTW, no coaster has them yet.
  6. I'd just be happy with new sets of PTC 2 bench trains for both Beast and Racer. Sure there'd be a slight capacity dip (I would do 7 car trains for both, 4 for Racer and 3 for Beast), but I think they'd track slightly better than the 3 bench trains.
  7. ^I remember the rest of the area pretty well, I did start riding KC right before Action Zone was created (I probably don't even have 10 laps on KC due to the lengthy lines). Plus, 10-12 year old me back then was more focused on Top Gun marathons than paying attention to details.
  8. With the way the kids area has been re-themed and re-routed, I imagine the path starting there to the water park has changed somewhat. Before even the first glimpses of Nickelodeon came in during the late 90's, it was much more wooded back there in the area around the Picnic Grove. One thing I hated that the park did when rebranding the water park to Soak City was getting rid of so many trees around the original section. It used to be very, very green in the water park (in a good way ). I also miss that awesome stone Water Works sign by the lazy river. silver2005, who has many fond memories of the original Water Works. I have something I want to confirm as well. During the time where the area to the left of the entrance was known as Adventure Village, what was in the spot where the Action Zone water tower used to be (circa 1994-1998, between the time the animal area and trams were retired and the birth of Action Zone)? I seem to think there used to be an in-ground amphitheater there.
  9. That might have been a name they were floating around for the Knott's coaster.
  10. Dang those were long trains on Beast. Is it safe to guess that those trains were the only ones of its kinds made by PTC specifically for Beast?
  11. I don't recall such a thing. Though, Paramount did temporarily stop selling the blue ice cream during their first year or so. Now there is the infamous Raspberry N' Chip at Graeter's though. Was UDF at KI before Graeter's in the 90s? It might have been one of their flavors.
  12. Sorry to tangent, but for anyone observant, there's a blatant misspelling in this picture. silver2005, who believes the shirt is a symptom of what is the worst bowl game ever.
  13. I'm more interested in Haunt. Winterfest can be a turn off in a hurry with the way winter weather is around here. Plus for me, there's college basketball to be watched. #winterpriorities
  14. Upon further review, this seems like a bit of overkill, at least for me. Exterminator was pretty wild with the spinning, but adding in all those insane elements seems like one of those moments a la RCT- spinning coaster 1 looks too intense for me! I'd probably still ride it though.
  15. So I was talking with the trumpet player from OTC today, and if they're back next year ,and I may still have a chance to be in the show. They apparently do take outside help for when the individuals need days off (the guy I know in the band only performs 75% of the way through the season). Look out for the group during Haunt and Winterfest! BTW, could someone give me a PM if/when audition info comes out for the park?
  16. There is one thing I've been forgetting to add- Kings Island, Cedar Fair, please, please, please rehab Racer. Even the good seats are getting towards the uncomfortable side and it looks so barren without the chaser lights strung all the way down the layout.
  17. Makes sense that KI has a large season pass base- it has few competing parks, its very close to its main market city (Cincinnati) as well as withing decent driving distance from many others (C-bus, Indy, Dayton, L'ville, Lexington) as well as large suburban growth very close by (West Chester, Liberty Township, Mason). I could see KI being the only seasonal park in the chain without a Pre-K pass.
  18. Does Busch Gardens Tampa just have this massive collection of amusement park train equipment or something?
  19. I have a few songs to add- Heard on I-Street- ET Theme (Adventures on Earth)- John Williams Ride of the Valkyries- Richard Wagner On the Carousel- John Phillip Sousa- Semper Fidelis
  20. ^Other way around for Mack. They have a few hypers, but have yet to go for a giga.
  21. Anyone else reminded of SIX's team up with RCT2 by this?
  22. ^They don't roar nor click when entering the lift though. The question of the OP was for the base of the lift.
  23. I do maybe 1-2 gung ho ride marathon days at KI a season, usually 1 using FLP, and that's it. I sometimes don't mind going slower or even waiting in line, especially for KIC meet ups, plus I spread out my visits. I think I would get tired and kind of spoiled of the park if every visit was with FLP. If you go through my TR's, I pay a lot of attention to park atmosphere (even at KI, I love any and all spontaneity during visits), and being a psych major, I like to people watch as well, not to mention taking in a few shows (coughOffTheChartsHornSectioncough). In short, I definitely wouldn't go for this.
  24. ^Both CA parks announced coasters on the same day though.
