  1. Thanks for posting. That guy thinks RMC coaster and record breaking size. Where did you hear they are clearing area east of Diamondback? RMC's current tallest Topper track coaster is Goliath at 165 ft. Unless that's a super steep lift and first drop in the blueprints, I kind of doubt that claim. By the looks of it, I don't see a length record being plausible either.
  2. Hey Beast Gal- quit jumping on every little clue as a RMC confirmation. It's getting old.
  3. Sorry to break on a tangent, but what reasoning was there for Cedar Fair to even purchase Michigan's Adventure?
  4. I wonder if they'd explore an option to take out the launch for a lift. It looks like it'd be feasible given the elevation difference from the first major drop and the over banked hill after it. Sure it'd take out the original selling points, but they'd still have a ride there and the layout looks like it'd still be pretty good. That and RMC would probably not get contracted to build a launch coaster for quite a while.
  5. In no particular order Nemesis- Alton Towers Thunderbolt- Kennywood Cyclone- Astroland Revolution, Viper and Ninja- Six Flags Magic Mountain Great American Scream Machine and Mind Bender- SFoG Screaming Eagle and Boss before RMC likely gets their hands on it- SFStL Boulder Dash- Lake Compounce GhostRider- Knott's Berry Farm Steel Force- Dorney Park Any portable Schwarzkopf looping coaster (ex. Olympia Looping Bahn) American Eagle- SFGAm (in case you didn't notice, I'm a big John Allen fan) Shockwave- SFoT Both Giant Dipper coasters in California Excalibur and Wild Thing- Valleyfair
  6. Just so you guys know, adding in elements to a coaster as dynamic as The Beast isn't like Roller Coaster Tycoon. If you add an element somewhere, you have to modify the track well before and after it to make it run right. It also affects a bunch of other things like momentum and forces through the ride. Let's say you want to make a bigger first drop without adding to the trims. First you have to create a steeper lift to go a higher angle to make it up to that height. You'd also have to create a longer pull out or else you'll create too many positive g's. The turn after the drop would have to become wider in radius and probably banked harder to accommodate the increased speed which would move the 2nd drop further back and it wouldn't line up with the brake shed, etc. etc.
  7. Strata has already been said a couple times. I think the only coasters over 400 feet are Top Thrill types. And an Intamin LSM shuttle coaster.
  8. Just make sure someone brings Snickers to the announcement.
  9. Since when did bias matter in trip reports?
  10. 1. I have more faith in KI in terms of maintenance 2. It still would have been worth it
  11. I don't know if the clues would match up, but I think the feeling is that HP will finally be getting a dropping tower (going by multiple coaster forums here). silver2005, avoiding the capitalization filter.
  12. I kind of wish KI was fortunate enough to have received a looping masterpiece from Anton Schwarzkopf back in the day. He did delve into terrain coasters. Man...I can just imagine him working his magic at Kings Island.
  13. I hate when the line separators try to guilt trip into making you go with a group, and they ask something to the extent of 'You're willing to skip a cycle and wait longer to ride by yourself?' I get suckered into that all the time when I go as a single rider at Kings Island, particularly in instances when a group behind me hears the conversation and I acquiesce due to feeling a bit of pressure to go with it and I don't want to escalate things.
  14. This topic's title sounds like a computer error name on Diamondback.
  15. I think Banshee was a good investment. KI was practically the only park of its size without a full circuit inverted coaster (mainly due to the CP clause during the Paramount era), and even with Diamondback, Beast and Vortex, KI could have used another coaster at the time which had decent capacity. I think it perfectly rounded out the thrilling coaster collection at KI and anything after that are the cherry on top. KI stll needs work in the intermediate ride collection though. I think KI could use more flats and some coasters from the likes of Mack.
  16. Here's a Beast POV from 1979 with the 2nd tunnel split into 2 tunnels and no tunnel on the helix. Also, its before the first turn after the first drop was profiled to bank the turn and the ride has the kicker tires.
  17. Going by coasters similar to Banshee- I've ridden on 4 B&M inverted coasters- Banshee, Raptor, Great Bear, and NJFTP's Batman: The Ride. I've also ridden 2 from other manufactures- Volcano: The Blast Coaster and T3. It is my favorite among all of those, though, for me, Great Bear, Raptor and Volcano still give Banshee a run for its money. I will admit there are few steel coasters that are as good as or top Banshee going by my own experiences.
  18. Yeah, on most wooden coasters, they just get big piles of lumber and cut and shape them on site. You won't see obvious track parts unless we start seeing the steel rails used on RMC's.
  19. Just more reasons for me not to use refillable cups or meal plans.
  20. What, you didn't try WWC in the ever trustworthy presence of Captain Biscuit?
  21. Considering how much Leviathan and Fury 325 cost, I don't think CF would pay for a steel coaster over 8,200 ft long (just above Steel Dragon 2000's length).
  22. See also Thunderation at Silver Dollar City, to an extent.
