Why can't Cedar Fair have as much info on food on their websites as HW and KK do?

Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom are likely my only 2 parks I will go to aside from going to Kings Island late in the season when 2017 passes go on sale. I'm now starting to work out the logistics for both my trips to KK and HW. I will be making them separate trips. I only have a few requests for those who've been there before. As I've stated before elsewhere, KK will be a day trip whilst HW will involve me staying near Santa Claus, IN and going 2 days to take in both Holiday World and Splashin' Safari. - Best places to eat (specifically, where to find things that are light on the stomach) - Any miscellaneous things about either park that might be worth looking into - Any other useful tips for either park, a specific one I want to request is on what lines are like for the 3 HW woodies at night (a Raven night ride is high on my priority list) - Any recommendations for lodging around Holiday World

Ha! I just lost it! Best post I've seen in a while! Send that water to The Beach, some of their slides actually need more water at times.

The current coaster with that record is Steel Dragon 2000 @ Nagashima Spa Land in Japan, which is over 8,000 ft long and, is in fact, the longest coaster in the world of any type. No way that's going to happen.

Too bad GG can't get their Timberliners to be comfortable on bigger coasters. And I don't think PTC's will be wise either. PTC's were certainly not meant to do what GG asks of them in their layouts. That's not to mention CF already has a good relationship with GCI what with purchasing 3 coasters and the numerous re-tracking projects they've done in combination.

GCI's tame? I think not.

I meant that as another question to their projections. Selling that many in such a short amount of time seems preposterous.

And in 5 years?

Of course the guy who invented it is going to oversell it like that. I can't even think of 30 buyers for this. Under what projections did he come up with those numbers?

Ummm.....no. Maybe 1/10th of that. Maybe.

^And not everything is going to have B&M level capacity. I am willing to sacrifice a bit of capacity for the sake of variety.

Big parks shouldn't be afraid to add in smaller coasters. They do have more demographics to work with than the thrill seeking crowd.

A European Paramount Park of some sort somewhere has been allegedly under development for the better part of the last decade now. I'm taking this with a molecule of salt. When there's vertical construction, then they'll perk my interest.

I get that some of you are frustrated about the lines, but with only a few days facing customers, they are doing well. It's not as easy of a job as we'd like to think. As a KI Food Department alumni and a current food service employee- yeah, it actually is easy as we'd like to think.

One more thing before I'm done ranting- Out of curiosity, how does Six Flags implement their dining plan?

If the KI employees really want to see a fast Skyline restaurant, they should go to one of the ones downtown or in Clifton to see how speed is really done. Its impressive watching those locations go.

^LaRosa's crust on their hand tossed and thin crust pizzas (the ones most similar to KI's) taste better than in the park. Setting them under heat lamps doesn't help either. Also, KI, please add calzones and their good hoagies to the menu. Please and thank you.

In regards to Skylines' lines, at least KI only has to serve ways, fries and coneys. On a busy day, our drive-thru line circles the building for customers who order the more complicated things (our fries are cooked to order due to not having a place for them which takes about 3 minutes, wraps, burritos, chilitos, potatoes and salads also take a while to make, chili cheese sandwiches also take slightly longer). We rarely have people walk in to make take out orders. I think the in-park Skylines should adopt a similar model (along with adding a few of the items found outside the park). If they must do it the way they are, they should have numbered tickets and designated areas for customers to wait on food. Also, they should have at least 4 people manning the steam table instead of 2 with the customer flow they have (that's how we staff at ours during the busy hours, though, we have it where there are 2 people on coneys, one on ways and another at burrito bar, KI should do 2 on coneys and 2 on ways and should have it where workers can work on 2 sides of a steam table). To top it off they should have at least 2 registers going. ' I also see they have a pathetic amount of spaghetti and chili to work with at a time and the grills for the hot dogs aren't that big. It looks like they have to change it out a lot. Get bigger pots and grills. Also offer more than 1 size for the ways (we have small, regular and large, KI only has the large size). That will make things go even faster with having to serve smaller portions. And for goodness sake, don't drench things in chili unless its requested. Its just one even flick of the wrist (which takes some practice) to get an even layer across. I also wonder if KI knows how to make stuff dry and juicy.

Considering CF relocated a WindSeeker tower, relocating the similarly sized Drop Tower to another park wouldn't be that far out of the question. Also, I don't think its downtime is that bad where removal is an issue.

If we do get a new/replacement flume, my hopes is that it will be a Hopkins product. Daredevil Falls at Dollywood is pretty much my favorite flume ride ever. If KI could create a flume with even 1/4 the theming that Dollywood used and puts in a decent size drop, that would be spectacular and a very worthy replacement for RFYLCB.

They can disagree all they want, but they are unlikely to see a B&M anytime soon. Cedar Fair only buys $20+ million dollar rides from B&M. I do think Michigan's Adventure will receive a new coaster in the next few years, just not a B&M. With attendance estimated to be below 1 million people a year the best they are likely to see is a $10 million dollar ride. Lots of great rides can fit in that kind of budget just not a B&M. Valleyfair is in the same position. Likely to see a new ride but not a B&M. Uh...I was just correcting him in his saying that Valleyfair was the only CF park without a B&M. I don't know how you interpreted all of that from my small post... silver2005, also learning the darndest things around here.
