  1. Swung by the park during my long break between classes to check out things. The slides look sharp. The actual slide pieces are going up, including the drop door portions of the taller slides and some of the smaller tube slides. Having minimal water park experience, I have to say, that new slide looks pretty tall. I still remember thinking the old Fast Track slides were tall, but these new ones take the cake. Loving the colors, too. I also love the new entrance. However, I noticed that the only new paving is for the new entrance. The rest of the parking lot is still the same. Bummer. Also, I have a question- Will there still be 2 parking lot exits (north and south) or will there be only 1 exit?
  2. This is the same country that had a park say they'd have to have guest sign wavers to ride (Alton Towers' Thirteen).
  3. There is a search bar at the top of the webpage.
  4. ^But at least with Dominator they didn't leave it as a parking lot like SFMM did with Scream.
  5. I don't think they would build a coaster over the entrance given the area it would have to turn around. It'd be messing with either employee parking, handicapped parking, or the backstage area. I think a pleasing aesthetic would be something they would consider when building a coaster. I don't want Kings Island pulling a Six Flags and building parking lot coasters, thank you very much. As for what coaster I would like next, I say either a Mack Wild Mouse or a GCI.
  6. ^Would you please quit spamming the forums with questions you've asked elsewhere?
  7. Looks like Off The Charts is sticking to the same instrumentation with a 8 piece band (2 trumpets, a sax, a trombone, bass, guitar, drum set, and auxiliary perc).
  8. Disneyland has an entire entertainment enterprise behind it to represent as well as having massive funds to work with via the Mouse's empire. Two things Kings Island either lacks or pales in comparison.
  9. You guys, this is obviously Six Flags envy. The park is trying to emulate their color choices of the past to match their ever high standards in color choices.
  10. I think you're over thinking this trip a lot. Spontaneity can add much to a park visit. Those are the moments you remember. There is such a thing as over planning, especially for something that's supposed to be fun. Additionally, I would recommend catching a show or two in the middle of riding and/or after meals. I also find it odd that you would intentionally schedule crisscrossing major lengths of the park at points in your planned itinerary. Also, depending on which day of the week you go and you're into power walking, you can knock out that entire list in a under 2 hours if you really wanted to.
  11. Anyone who has been on a GCI knows that even at 48 mph, the thing will still be packed full of airtime, lateral g's, and elements within elements. They know how to make it wild.
  12. I can't think of a ride where the park would have issues with that sans Diamondback on the outer seats, though on the more intense rides or ones with awkward seating like Banshee, Invertigo, Flight of Fear, Firehawk and Vortex, I would recommend holding on to the restraint. If we're talking this about being nervous about the ride, I would ask the girl first. If we're talking a romantic gesture, I'd go for it being spontaneous.
  13. ^They're probably trying not to encourage guests from taking a camera into the line since they don't allow loose articles in the station for Firehawk.
  14. ^I think I hear groans coming in the direction of Washington DC for some reason....
  15. The one now located under the Eiffel Tower is a brilliant spot for one as well.
  16. ^John Williams composed for Hook (the first song on that playlist).
  17. When you're racking your brain over filling out a NCAA tourney bracket.
  18. ^Reason #247 of why I don't use Wikipedia as a main source for anything.
  19. 82. Off the Charts Please, please, please!
  20. Not everything is going to have B&M level capacities, but there are rides under those numbers that would still suit Kings Island. Capacity numbers aren't everything about a ride.
  21. ^Before they implemented the dining plan, I would have had that attitude about food service at the beginning of the year and expect it to improve by at least Memorial Day as that was kind of the norm (or even by mid-May). Since they added the plan, that hasn't been the case. Last year, I expected the bad service and was surprised when it was good (except for Reds HOFG, Chick-fil-A and Panda Express). The park gave me no reason to expect it to improve since they were still lackadaisical in June and July.
  22. I don't get that argument. Those things wouldn't be difficult at all to train employees on prior to opening day. I can't think of anything on the menu at Kings Island that would require that extensive of training.
  23. Which is odd since you'd think that a 200+ ft coaster that was also the 2nd longest wooden coaster in the world (only a few hundred feet short of his father) would burn off momentum properly. I remember it flying into the final brakes despite said brakes being on top of a 55+ ft hill. I think the Premier designed trains had something to do with it since after they switched to the Gerstlauer trains, the pacing seemed more adequate (though it also felt like it would stall on the 2nd hill).
