  1. That's the day I plan to go for trip #3 of 2015.
  2. I rode Dragster at night a few years back and ended up with a nice long cut across my forehead via mayfly at 120 mph.
  3. I find 6-1 and 7-1 to have a bit more intensity than 5-1 while keeping a smooth ride. I also like the front seat on Vortex a lot. Beast and Racer I try to ride in the 2nd row of each 3 row train to avoid sitting over a wheel housing- makes it less jarring though Beast is somewhat better over the wheels. Front seats are the only good exception for both. Adventure Express is sort of similar, but its smoother so choosing a wheel seat isn't as bad a choice. I actually like the very back on AE. It fits the runaway mine train act better. I find Invertigo a little more tolerable towards the area of the train that starts closest to the cobra roll. I've even had some non-banging rides in that area. Banshee is good about anywhere, but the back makes it a bit more unpredictable. Diamondback is good pretty much anywhere as well. I find that the front has the strongest air, and as you go back, the air becomes more floaty, but better sustained. My go-to row is 12, 6th car outer seats. Flight of Fear is the one coaster I avoid the front as it comes to a near complete stop on the MCBR and the front car hangs awkwardly to the side. Bat definitely has more swinging action towards the front. Backlot and Firehawk are good anywhere.
  4. I'd be all for a big of a face lift of the current building though. Also, a coaster going across the front gate would almost have to go into the backstage area or parking lot, which would be a big eyesore when riding it. Neither are exactly the prettiest places.
  5. So KD could keep adding relocated B&M's and BGW would have 0 problem with it?
  6. ^That doesn't matter. If that clause truly exists, Dominator wouldn't be at KD.
  7. I don't know how true this rumor was, but I heard that Guinness took a while to decide whether or not it should get wooden coaster records. I guess this is their decision. I do consider Intamin rides such as El Toro and T-Express to be wood because its the material I focus on, not how its produced nor how they feel. There's still actual wood involved. RMC's on the other hand are clearly not wood as you're replacing 2 layers of wood with steel. If you take that steel and make it tubular instead of the bar shape, you get track not unlike Gemini and Excalibur. I'm surprised Guinness went with wood on Goliath. I also know that RCDB was flawed before this, but them saying RMC's are wood really makes me question their system for doing things.
  8. Dollywood Express is up there on the list as well. Unlike most amusement park trains, Dollywood's fleet are legit, refurbished, coal fired steam locomotives, and it has a nice long course.
  9. I guess it's hit or miss since I've been to Dollywood during the summer on a weekday, perfect weather, and the crowds were pretty moderate- 10-15 minute waits max.
  10. On Dollywood- it usually follows the same kind of crowds as a usual amusement park does. Mid-July should be no exception, so weekdays should be better, though I'd try to go before Friday. Along with the rides, try to check out at least one show. The entertainment department is top notch there. You're by one of the biggest things to do there in the GSM National Park. Just pick any of the walking trails or driving tours and enjoy the scenery. I like spending a day just walking through Gatlinburg, even if you don't do anything specific, its just a nice little place. Putt-putt courses are big there, though personally, I think the better ones are in Gatlinburg over Pigeon Forge. There are a few places like a movie car museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, a chairlift which takes you up a mountain, and a few other things of that nature. Sure, there are tourist traps, but some can perk your interests. There's also a Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge. I won't go through everything as I'd be going on forever.
  11. I think it kind of looks better with a few less lights. Gives it a more mysterious look.
  12. The park says mid-May, so I imagine in a few weeks.
  13. I would like to think that the Coca-Cola Refresh Station in Coney (near Dodgems) would be able to since they sell both cotton candy and popcorn.
  14. We're never letting that go, are we?
  15. Huh...that station is the same number and same ABC affiliation as another certain Cincinnati TV station I know... Coincidence?
  16. This meal plan seems like a Pandora's Box type situation that Cedar Fair has opened. It seems great on paper for both sides, but when you start to pick it apart and you have incidents like all the changes its undergone (or attempted to change but didn't), the inconsistencies within the park to implement it, and little bits like the thing we had at the Reds HOF Grille throwing wrenches in the works, its just working poorly. And it would be foolish to go back and cancel them being sold. CF seems to have put themselves between a rock and a hard place, so to speak.
  17. Yeah, the food department did have some improvements from opening day, but not by much. I'd give them a C- at this point.

    Invertigo

They were cycling them well into the evening. Saw some go through as late as 8:50 pm.
  19. Could be worse. Alton Towers has a restriction where they can't build above the tree line because it's in a conservation area. They've managed to get around that little hiccup pretty well.
  20. Why? B&M is far more technologically advance in the coaster world. They made a LSM launch coaster! Why would you want a different manufacture? It will just break down. B&M make the most comfortable rides! That rough shuffling was designed on purpose to be Diamondbacks rattler. There are no cons with B&M they never go wrong. First, don't kid yourself on Diamondback having the rattle on purpose. Just get that notion out of your head. Do you pay attention to other designers than B&M? Mack is undergoing some big changes with their latest train design, seen on the likes of Blue Fire at Europa Park and Manta at Sea World in San Diego. They've actually been taking a lot of Intamin's designs and improving on them. I don't think it'll be long until we see a Mack hyper coaster. Gerstlauer and Mauer Sohne have some neat ideas. Premier Rides have a bit of potential as well. One thing about B&M- They don't cater to the intermediate guests. Their rides have a height requirement of 54 inches or higher for most of them. Some people also like to ride coasters, but not the more intense ones. They do have a family inverted coaster design, but I still think there are much better options than B&M for that. Also, B&M doesn't design wood coasters. You need to cover demographics other than the thrill seekers at some point.
  21. I know y'all like to try and get snaps, but its also a nice gentle ride to get in to get a break from the thrills. It can be thoroughly enjoyed without snapping the cables.
  22. Or Michigan's Adventure, Worlds of Fun, Vallyfair!?
  23. Buying Fast Lane would help immensely in this case as well if you go on a crowded day.
  24. What exactly are you asking? Like...are you asking for a makeshift day plan on how the crowds flow, or are you trying to ride as much in as little time as possible...?
