  1. Ha. I'm in this video. My brother had landed a speaking part through some kind of talent agency. They filmed it in March or April(I think), before the season began. My parents couldn't take off work, so I skipped two days of school and took him. Memories are vague, but I remember getting there very early for a production meeting at the Festhaus. They took the "cast" elsewhere to work on lines, wardrobe, etc. The friends/family who had accompanied them were used as extras. We rode The Beast as extras during the filming there. They had to do several takes, and my brother (who was around 12 at the time) had never been on it. So his first time on Beast was filmed, and we rode it 3-4 times in a row. I'm not even sure they stopped the train completely before sending us out again. I can be seen in the scene where stuffed animals are thrown at him after his basketball game. I remember gathering around the TV(and setting the VCR) for its big premiere several weeks later. My brother's scene had been cut. But I made the final version! I never let him live that down.
  2. Hey all, I know it's way far off(six months away), but as someone who hasn't been to Kings Island since the Paramount days, I have a few questions about the Halloween event on weekends in September/October... 1. What percentage of the rides in the park are actually open? Specifically, coasters and the Planet Snoopy area? 2. Is the "scary stuff" confined to a certain section of the park, or a certain time of the night(say, after 9:00 p.m.)? In other words, can I take the kids throughout the park without them getting scared to death, if we're there from lunchtime to dinnertime?(They're 7 and 3, by the way). 3. Is it still the regular admission price? If so, are there usually special offers to knock some $$$ off, since it's late in the season? 4. Is it worth it? It would be our only amusement park trip of the year, and I'd love to knock out a few coasters and have the kids ride the Camp Snoopy stuff. Want to make sure that for the price and limited hours, it's worth the trip and expense. Thanks, all.
  3. Hey all...brand new to this board. Visited KI at least once a summer from about 80-95 or so, haven't been since. Recently moved back to the area, and I have a few questions(these are questions I could probably find answers to if I dug around on the board, but I thought it would be quicker/easier just to ask them all here). 1. With Viacom no longer owning the park, how much longer with the Nickelodeon stuff be in tact? I have a young daughter who has seen her favorite Nickelodeon characters on KI commercials, but we can't take her this summer. Will the Nickelodeon area be around in 2009? 2. Has Son of Beast been a disappointment? I read all the hype when it opened, but so far, people I've talked who have been on it have only spoken of how rough a ride it is. 3. So nobody ever died on The Bat? Seriously? That was one of the great "urban legends" of my childhood, that cars from The Bat would just be sent hurtling into the trees. Guess not. 4. Is there still a two-day pass, and how much of a savings is it? Like I said, KI will always be a huge part of my childhood/teenage years, and I'm pretty excited to get back there next summer. Reading this board(and especially the History section) has been a lot of fun.
