  1. There is no need to test the reaction with the cars and the splashdown,. While the water will slow the train down, it will not be noticed by the naked eye or be able to be felt on the ride. It is more for show effect than an actual brake such as a splash down on a flume type ride.
  2. Hmmmm.... No pull through, I wonder who said they wouldn't but everyone said they would do it because they did it with Maverick. **Ducking from flying objects
  3. Yes, those are the scoops, they look like they will shoot the water straight up though. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayima...=301&pos=14
  4. No biggie. Jack from CoasterDynamix got interviewed. I was there with him, but I just helped to keep the coaster running and to move it to the from after the park closed.
  5. ^^ No I did not get interviewed for the announcement.
  6. They were running one train to my knowledge, I was watching from the guest drop off. WATCH CHANNEL 5 NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT INTERVIEWED!!
  7. ^^ LOL You mean the Apollo's Chariot vs. the Goose that took out Fabio's nose incident... LOL Yeah, I hope nothing like that happens either.
  8. Thanks for the compliment; but my accent is pure Southwest Ohio 'Merkan! "Hey, what the heck is going on here?!?" kiDiamondback.com and placesaroundflorida.com (actually, when I first heard "stadium seating," this was the mental image I had, until I got to a TV and saw what the real cars were going to look like.) OH MY Diamondback got SheiKra pregnant! That creature would fall along the lines of The Beast... "What the heck is it anyway?" I really enjoyed that pic!
  9. They are pulling it back, perhaps they are going to test the clearance in the pool.
  10. They did that with montu, put the first two cars on to make sure everything lined up in the station and on the lift.
  11. If we are going to talk about "tacky", let's talk about the building that The Crypt is in. I think it is great that KI is getting another "THEMED" ride. Last really theme ride we got was Stunt Track.
  12. Am I the only one who is baffled by this? I have watched construction of several B&M coasters when I lived in Florida, and they didn't do pull throughs on them. Kraken didn't, SheiKra didn't, Montu didn't, Kumba didn't. Why is everyone so adiment about seeing a pull through? It's B&M, it WILL go!
  13. Also, the model was built base on the ride. The ride was not built based on the model. The trains on the model were painted and a decal was put on the top of the pilot coach (zero car) to make the model's trains resemble the coaster's trains. As for the pull through, I am not sure they will do a pull through with this coaster. See the thing about a B&M coaster is that they don't play around when it comes to their stuff. They've got it together WAY before the ride is built. That is why they are the safest and most reliable coasters out there. Why do you think the Busch parks have so many B&M's throughout?
  14. ^^ Each train will be a different color, from what I understand
  15. OH YEAH..... I AM THE BUSH....... er BEASTMASTER.. I rode The Beast at least 15 times in one hour. It was durring the last hour of the day. I think Steve was working at the time.
  16. There is only one trim, it is on the entrance to hill 5, which is the airtime hill right before the MCBR. The trims are automatic on these coasters. Take Montu for example, the trim before the batwing will be activated by one train then will not catch the next train. ( never really made sense to me as to why the trim was before the batwing, the batwing is a foot shorter than the mcbr.) So, it all depends on the speed of the train as it is going into those particular brakes. I rode Apollo's Chariot 5 times one day over the summer, and I noticed the trims twice out of the 5 times i rode it.
  17. Well... I think I have said it before, but I don't want to go back and find it. On Magnum Girl in front of me: "Look at the ocean at how beautiful it is." Standing near the Diamondback mini-me up front: Random guy: "That's MF but painted different." Random woman: "I hope it doesn't go THAT fast." Park employee(sweep): "It's not going to be that great of a ride anyway." I hate when they say Firehawk is "Brand new", when it is actually a hand-me-down. Funniest thing i heard all season, Guy talking about Diamondback's missing track parts: "I hope they don't leave it like that!" From the parking lot looking at F/O's lifts. Female: "That one has two tracks."
  18. I was there when FOF was brand new. They had the footprints then.. I remember like it was yesterday. My cousin and I were giong to go ride it for a second time but in the front, and it broke down before we got to the entrance, and remember seeing the footprints. They also has KKC next door. What's funny about it, is when I moved here in July of 2005 I asked an employee "Where is the big log flume that was in this area?" She pointed to Thornberry's. I said "no, what I am thinking of winds through the trees high up then drops, and it has a rotating platform." She said, "you mean WWC?" I said "I didn't ride that the last time I was here." She had no idea what I was talking about! But anyway, they need to bring back some reminders of great things of the past, and the footprints would be a start.
  19. I've seen BLSC stopped on top of the spiral before.... Train 4 on Montu in tampa rolls back between the mcbr and batwing sometimes. there is a video of a Raptor train sitting between the mcbr and cobra roll on youtube. I had 7 or 8 roll backs on Wicked Twister.
  20. http://www.KICentral.com/photos/displayima...m=278&pos=2 In this picture that someone had a question about... I am guessing you are talking about the place where the 2 rows of bolts are holding the bottom part to the spine itself? Well, I would assume it is there so if the track doesn't sit just right, or needs to be tilted in anyway to match the previous of preceeding peice they can loosen those bolts and adjust it acordingly. After it is in the right possition, they tighten them up. also this will help reduce stress on the track itself, as I would imagine they give a little under the weight of the train.
  21. A hammerhead turn in aviation also is 90degrees up and back down. So I will say, it isn't a "TRUE" hammerhead turn. The hammerhead on Behemoth looks like the head of a hammerhead type shark if you think about it. And while we are on the subject of coaster elements... WHAT THE HECK IS THE ROSE BOWL ON SOB?
  22. AAAAAARRRGGGGGHHH! IT'S NOT A HAMMERHEAD TURN! Stop calling it that. It is ust an over bank turn. I have visual proof and an explanation if you would like me to back this up.
  23. Definately not Urgent Scare. I was expecting more.
  24. In your first post, where you took this pic of the Handi parking lot... I can see my vehicle!!!! The Land rover is mine. No, I did not park illegally. A friend of mine from work has a permit, and we used it because she rode up with us.
  25. This coaster will be just as fun to watch as it will be to ride.. The non-riders will enjoy the awesome rooster tails the train will produce. If you sit in the very last seat on either corner you WILL get some spray.
