There is no welding involved in B&M once it leaves the Batavia factory. There may be as another member said, welding in some of the structures surrounding the ride such as stations, que lines, train barn, etc. B&M takes pride in being 100% aqurate and smooth. If you weld the rails, you will have bumps.

On Magnum going up the second hill... I always here someone say.. "Look at the ocean!" or "Look how pretty the ocean is." I hate when people argue with you about something, specially when and after they find out you visit the park at least 3 to 4 times a week! The Scorpion model in Thrill Seakers is a model of Invertigo, you guys didn't know that? OR people say as they are walking past.. "they are building that one too..." or " Which one is that?"

I was there with my partner, and my friend from work and her nephew. My friend, her nephew, and Iwere on SDATHC around the same time as you! We rode it twice because I won the first time. so they both wanted a rematch... I won again! I posted pics of the current progress of Diamondback on the site already. In the second photo of Beast's post, i noticed something odd about the water brake. I wonder why they cut it so short... the trough height does not line up with the pools edge height. Now I know dive trains sit higher on the track, but Diamondbacks does not look right.

I think on Viking Furry, there is a mixture of "fake" and "real" screams.. I mean when that boat is at full swing and you are on the very end of the ride, you are high up there. Even more than I hate the screaming is when for example, I was at Kings Dominion and got of Grizzly. I thouroughly enjoyed that coaster, but there was some 12 y/o boys who got off and kept say as they passed someone heading toward the ride.. "That ride sucked! I almost hit my head! BLAH, BLAH, BLAH" Even talking about how it hurt their genitals, as if they had any, ANYWAY!.....lol It took everything in my power not to back hand him in the mouth. I mean for crying outloud there are other children around.

Ok.... here is my breakdown of Spidey for Beast. Imagine getting into the mini mystery machine combined with the hydrolics and 3-d of spongebob, and you have "The Amazing Adventures Of Spider-man" The car moves around a track like a funhouse ride, while it tilts and rocks turbulently like a simulator ride, while your "night vision goggels" puts everything into 3-d. Moving walls, fire explosions...... um... pretty much a Spongebob / Scooby doo ride on steroids! Hands down the best dark ride EVER! My picks would be : Hulk (best launch on a coaster) Spider-man Popeye/Bluto's Barges (puts every other river rapids ride to shame!) Ripsaw Falls JP: River Adventure Dragons Cat in The Hat I've done all of this in less than 3 hours in the fall / winter months. But you know... I have just as much fun waiting in Universal's lines as I do on the rides.

Why don't you guys ask the Coasterdynamix expert himself......(ME).... about the model in the window. The Scorpion: 1. They sell for 200.00 plus shipping on the Coasterdynamix website. 2. It only takes me 5 hours to build a Scorpion. I'm not sure why it took 14 hours for the builder to build this one. Maybe it was his first time. BUt even still, my first scorpion was done in about 6 to 7 hours. (I am not factoring in any break time) 3. It is not modeled after any coaster, nor any coaster modeled after it. I have a few thousand bucks invested in what coasterdynamix products I have. It isn't cheap! But you get what you pay for. Which is a top of the line coaster modeling system that no one else has. The attention to detail and the fact that it can be totally customized was the selling point for me. The Dragon kit is the one that is $500.00 and is worth it! If you want a Diamondback model, this is what you need to know about the one in the front of the park: "A few facts: 96 bases 60-65' of track 150' total length of support tubes 3 motors (lift, station/brake run, midcourse- which wasn't hooked up) We used the Scorpion gearmotors because they are very reliable. Trains were custom painted and custom decals were made."

I am going to reply to several people's posts in this post..... As far as Flight Decks block on the lift, I think it is funny when people who don't KNOW what it's doing react. You know how you go over a series of bumps and you go "aaaaaaaaaaaahhhh" ? I do that on The Beast heading around the ravine into the bottom of the lift. That is more for my own personal enjoyment.....LOL You just HAVE to scream on VF. I put my hands up and yell "WOOOOOO HOOOOOO" durring the launch of FOF, and on the holding chain on SheiKra. This has nothing to do with KI, but it is the same topic.... you can tell the difference between "scared" and "playing". One time while riding the last row on Kumba at BGT, there was a little african-american girl dirrectly in front of me. When we crested the lift and started down, she started screaming and didn't take a breath the entire time!.......LOL I have to agree with some of the others, if the poster of this thread does not like the screaming I suggest not going to an amusement park. I expect screaming when i go to a place like that. It's like going to a bar and complaining that everyone is drinking alcohol. D to the UH!

I heard ki is getting a b&m hyper coaster with a SheiKra-esk splash down. I could be wrong by my sources are usually right!

OOOH... that is even better than watching Key West drop a drag queen in a giant high heel shoe! 5 4 3 2 1 SHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Diamondbacks maiden voyage...... train 1 doesn't come back because it is too cold! EDIT: It would be AWESOME to time it out 10 seconds from the point of the train dropping. That means however, that they would have to practice by RUNNING the coaster. I think it would be HARD to miss them running THIS coaster.

There are LOTs they could do with the park... They can use the big Kerosene Heaters as they use in FLorida and California to prevent the cold snaps from ruining the orange groves. Just place them throughout the park so guests can warm up. Only having certain paths open. International Street to the path between BLSC and carousel into Coney Mall to FOF, around Juke Box Diner, to the Crypt and the train station. They CAN indeed run FOF and Crypt, the carousel, ice skating on the fountain, revive the old slide that used to be in H-B and put it on the path between FOF and Vortex, COMPLETELY cover the tower with foliage and transform it into a giant Christmas tree! Horse drawn sleigh rides can be given on the KIMVRR much like the horse drawn trolly at Magic Kingdom in Florida. Riding through those woods and have the old town transformed into something different for the occasion. I invision it being like riding through the Christmas display with all the houses that light up with all the figurines. Getting a complimentary hot chocolate as you board the sleigh. Have a show in the festhaus, and have a completely different menu for the season. Like soups, chili (not that skyline crapola... REAL chili), and such. Change the name of FOF for the event such as Busch Gardens in Tampa does durring Hawl-O-Scream.. for example, KUMBA = DOOMBA, MONTU= MONTOMB... I know, not much different but you'd be surprised at the people who think that it is a brand new ride with just those variations of the name!...LOL Runaway Sleigh Ride for FOF With the house lights on.... OR will the lights off, but the walls completely covered in holiday lighting! As for the Crypt, the first thing that comes to mind is "Santa's Drunk Again" What do you guys think about THIS.... . . . . Copyright pending!

TOPIC STARTER: I can tell you one thing, B&M hypers are AWESOME! If you can ride SOB and like it you will LOVE Diamondback!

OK... for one it looks like the model is going faster than it is due to the fact that you can not scale gravity, however you can scale the ride. For Example, IF you took the Shrink ray from Honey, I Blew Up The Kid, and blew the model to full size, it would travel the same speed, only look a lot slower than the model. The model looks fast because of the small size. Someone above said that "All it is is a coasterdynamix model, there's nothing special about it." ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME? Do you know of any other coaster modeling system that can even compair to theCoasterDynamix system? Do not say Screamin' Serpent, because it looses speed quicker and you have to add booster in places throughout the track to complete the layout. RollerCoaster Tycoon had a booth at the most recent Hobby expo, and CoasterDynamix was there showing off their new kit. Well the RCT kit kept having problems, to the point where RCT disassembled it. The CoasterDynamix model ran without ANY problems! COasterDynamix and Kings Island are discussing details about several items to be sold in the store. If the Scorpion in the window of Thrill Seakers isn't a clue then I don't know what is! They will be selling Scorpion Kits that will retail at about $200.00 There is also talk of Beast train statix. Another idea that is floating around is that Kings Island will sell a MODIFIED version of the NEW CoasterDynamix kit (due out this fall) to be molded in the colors of Diamondback. The new kit will be easier to assmble that the scorpion, and is said to run more efficiently. Back to previous replies: YOU CAN NOT SCALE GRAVITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no way to slow the CoasterDynamix system down WITHOUT causing the train to STOP or vally throughout the course.

THANK YOU!! I have been trying to figure that out all season! I actually asked an employee at the train who sang that song and she told me John Denver. I don't think so! lol So I downloaded the song and started blasting it. My wife runs in and asks what the heck I am listening to. I told her to give it a moment and see if she can figure it out. She gives up. So i ask her if it sounds like were riding the train at Kings Island. She turns around in disgust! On another Kings Island music note.... They actually PLAYED a Led Zeppelin song on IS the last time I visited (KICentral Day) and I about fell over! And I just HAD to tell everyone around me who was playing, even if they could care less. I'm like that when a Wynonna song is playing in Rivertown!....LOL

Tell them that Sheikra_rocks 3 year old nephew gives evil looks to the guy out in front checking heights at The Beast when he was told he couldn't ride The Beast! And don't get me started about Reptar, he wants to ride it so bad but they made him get off before we started. Strainge thing is, he is tall enough to ride Avatar, but not tall enough to ride Reptar. THEY ARE THE SAME HEIGHT REQUIREMENT!

Sheikra was running 5 trains, and can load and unload 2 trains at a time. I think right at the opening, the line will be quite large. Throughout the day it will not be as big, granted we have no break downs or delays.

I was in the back row, right side of montu when rider in front of me toward the front of the train lost a hat in the zero-g roll.... I CAUGHT THE HAT! I mean it hit me in the chest, so I hung on to it. So technically it caught me?
