  1. Because they said so. Honestly, there is no reason to carry a bag in the park UNLESS you are going to the waterpark. Then once you are done with the water park, take the bag back to the car.
  2. I like how Dollywood does it. They actually WALKED everyone back to Wild Eagle.
  3. Most I waited for Diamondback on opening day in 2009 was an hour and 45 minutes. I rode it 5 times. There is NO way that like was ever 3 hours long. They over estimated it and is what they told people when they asked. Impressive considering the line was almost to Icee Mixitup at about 10:45 that morning! maps.google.com I got in line between the tower and the theater just about where it turns to head toward Back Lot, and it was 1 hour and 45 minutes, and that was the longest I waited. We also had 2 switchbacks prior to entering the main queue. I would say, the maximum wait was 2.5 hours on Diamondback opening day. The was not any downtime that I know of, and it went rather quickly. I would say riding it 5 times on opening day is pretty good. We had our 5th ride about 4:30 People exaggerate a LOT. "I've been waiting in the drive thru for 20 minutes!" "I've been waiting in line for 3 days for this one ride." etc.

  5. I have ridden 4 Superman Fliers, Manta, and Firehawk. The B&M's are so much better than the Vekomas. The last row on any B&M flyer is the place to be. For me a coaster doesn't have to be very forceful or extremely tall to make it better than the rest. The overall experience is what I look for. Manta had a posted wait time of 90 minutes. Before I knew it, I was climbing the stairs to the loading station. Cheetah Hunt for example, is more enjoyable than Maverick.
  6. I rode Scorpion at BGT on January 13th. Had a coaster noob with us, so we started him out on something easy. First NEW coaster will be Firechaser Express.
  7. If you zoom in on street view in front of Red's Diner, on the windows facing the flume you can see the guys reflection in the window.
  8. They were preparing to install the chain around December 6th. I noticed that when I was there with ACE they had chain parts laying on the platform at the bottom of the lift. I would say that the chain is already installed, as it can be installed at anytime after the lift is completed.
  9. Mermaids! YES!!!! I can supply the costumes!
  10. Yes I did fell like that, then picked myself up and dusted myself off and decided to feel different. LOL Yep, I knew the "grammar police" would not be able to resist commenting on that.
  11. Does anyone else feel like that inline should be through that vertical loop, ala keyhole element?
  12. If that is the case, Gemini is trying to emulate wood with it's steel track and layout. The loop on SOB had a steel supporting structure, however, the rails were traditional wooden coaster rails. Therefore, WOODEN HYPER COASTER W/ LOOP
  13. Perhaps something like Shockwave at Canada's Wonderland. However, I believe it is time for Coney to build a nice wooden coaster. Either Gravity Group or GCI.
  14. With this last update, it appears as there are at least 42 sections of track left to hang.
  15. Basically. I have fed the dolphins several times. They specifically tell you not to lift the carton above the ledge.
  16. As far as I am aware Tillikum did not perform (I am assuming you are talking about Believe right?) in the show until well after the summer season had already ended following his attack on Dawn (actually it was more closer to a year later, around the time of the announcement that Believe was gonna be replaced). If you indeed saw him it wasn't intentional on SeaWorld's part because they did everything they could to shelter him in the back pools since the attack was still fresh in people's minds, Tillikum would have had to sneak to the show on his own. Sure you didn't mistaken one of the adult females for him? SO they lied to me when they claimed their biggest whale was getting ready to splash me? I can also tell the difference between a male and female orca.
  17. I was there about a month after the incident with Dawn. Tilikum was in the show, and there is NO WAY that whale has missed a feeding. I used to work with animals at a zoo in Florida. I handled reptiles such as alligators, crocodiles, pythons, etc. I also handled birds of prey (BOP) and exotic birds. Reptiles are different. They can lean to associate certain sounds with food, but you can NOT train an alligator, crocodile, or a snake. BOP and exotics on the other hand, can be trained. During a show, if the bird did not complete the requested task, they were not instantly rewarded. However, once they are back in their mews, (barn that houses BOP) or the exotic bird house, (each bird had it's own individual cage) they get a full meal. Wasn't I quite handsome 10 years ago? LOL A comment the irks me is when the trainers said, "I never thought anything like this would happen." "I didn't think anything bad would happen." SERIOUSLY??? If you work with a particular animal long enough, you will be bitten. The bites always happen when you let your guard down, or become too comfortable with the animal. In captivity, when bites happen, it is NEVER the animal's fault. It is the person who is injured that is at fault. I have been bitten by snakes, alligators, birds, dogs, cats, etc. What I don't understand is in the footage that one would assume is when the whale grabbed Dawn, where was her hand? You can not see her arm because Tilikum is in the line of site from the camera. Did she have her hand in his mouth petting his tongue? Exactly like this person: There's nothing stopping this Beluga from biting this woman. This makes a lot more sense that him grabbing her ponytail. They tell you not to lift the paper high enough for the dolphin to see it. There are even signs all over the place. This little girl learned the hard way: Who's fault is that? It's not Sea World's fault, it CERTAINLY is not the dolphin's fault. I am going to join the protesters in front of Sea World, but my sign will say, "I'm with Stupid." or "Legalize Same Sex Marriage." or something completely not related. Like these people: Or better yet, a sign stating, "Honk if Disney should release the animatronic hippos!"
  18. WALL OF TEXT COMING: A recent Facebook post I made. "I love all animals, and like reading about them, and watching things on TV about them, but I am seriously SICK of all the Orca crap popping up on my news feed. Get over it already! Blackfish is a MOVIE. It was worded so that it puts the blame on Sea World. The former trainers said that they never thought anything bad would happen. After seeing the movie, my first thought was, "These people did not think an animal as big as a medium sized school bus could or would harm them?" ANYTHING with a mouth can and will bite. Also, places like Sea World and Busch Gardens do more good than bad. Do you know that there are animals that thrive is zoos that are classified as "EXTINCT IN THE WILD"? "Extinct in the wild." Gee there's nothing wrong with THAT statement. Furthermore, those of you wanting the whale released need to think about the last time an orca was released after a MOVIE brought him to everyone's attention. Keiko, the star of Free Willy was released. Up until he died of pneumonia, he had been known to seek human interaction, beg fishermen for food, and was underweight. (Google it) What happens if Tilly were released and did the same thing? What would stop that orca from seeking human interaction? Attacking someone who doesn't have food for him? The film Blackfish started out putting the blame on the whale stating that "he became frustrated and that is why he attacked." Then they shifted the blame to Dawn, stating that she didn't reward him, ran out of food, and kept asking the whale to do more. Then they shifted the blame to Sea World for not having more safety measures in place. Are you freaking serious? One thing you have to understand about working with animals is that when bites happen, it is never the animal's fault. The person working with the animal did something wrong and was injured Since this movie has been released, I have seen people post their opinions on orcas in captivity, and I have not said a word about it. I have not argued my point of view with anyone, and some people may not like what I had to say. If that is you, do us both a favor, don't comment here. Delete me from your friends list, unlike my pages, etc. This is all I am saying on the matter. Real friends will respect my opinion, as I have respected and not commented my opinion about their opinion."
  19. Yes, helps it blend in with the wooded area. Also, the whole parks has a rustic mining theme to it. It's all part of Dollywood's charm.
  20. Aunt Granny's is the best! Good, southern, home cooked food. Tornado is supposed to look like that.. LOL I end up marathoning Thunderhead in the front! So much airtime! (I only get 1 click on the lap bar.)
  21. Okay, Wild Eagle is the ONLY roller coaster with a theme song written specifically for the ride. I would not call the station music of Millennium Forceless a theme song.
  22. I disagree with Tornado. It is the best Arrow looper! It rides like a B&M. So smooth, and no awkward transitions. Love climbing up the side of the mountain, then plunging through it. Please tell me you ate at Aunt Granny's for dinner! That is a MUST when I visit! Front right is my favorite on Wild Eagle. To my knowledge, Wild Eagle is the only coaster with a theme song!
  23. Goliath is a wooden coaster. New Texas Giant is a steel coaster. You know the saying, "if it quacks like a duck?"
