  1. It does seem odd that they are deviating a bit from their previous costing model.  Could be a couple of different reasons:
    • KI is a more valuable asset than the other parks so they are reflecting that in the pricing.
    • Adjusting to cost of living/cost of doing business variations across the communities they have parks in.
    • They sold too many gold passes to KI and are trying the Disney approach (that failed lol) at raising costs to better control attendance.
    • Some other reason or no reason at all.

Or trying to reduce the babysitting they do during the year and help curb the incidents at the park.

  2. Our bags with car key and wallet of cards stolen near the orion ride yesterday night around 9 PM ET. Reported it to lost found but no luck and also filed a police report. Any advice to find the bag ..any such incidents before? Any help here is really appreciated !!!

Usually happens when people are cheap and don’t rent a locker.

  3. And we didn’t ever ride enchanted theater while it was open. But I think a lot of visitors to the park might be in a similar place.

Well, nobody has ever rode enchanted theater. They might have watched a show there, but that was after Enchanted Voyage closed.

Thousands came to Kings Island on July 9th at the Timberwolf Amphitheatre to see classic 80s bands Berlin and A Flock of Seagulls. This summer’s concert series marks the most concerts at Kings Island since 1995, and the first time that park admission is not required to attend a concert. Plus, parking is free after 5:00 p.m.

Next up at the park is 3 Doors Down with Special Guest Candlebox on Friday, July 22. More information and tickets are available on the park’s website at visitkingsisland.com.

From what I heard and seen, hundreds, not thousands.

I agree.  They need to put something in where Vortex sat.  Seeing that fence and an open area of land just doesn`t seem very pleasant.  Heck, I would be happy if they added some more flat rides back there, or even a wild mouse coaster.  Just something  back there to provide some action and interest instead of a wood fence.

That land didn't have a ride in it for the first 9 years of the park. I'd love to see them plant a bunch of trees and let it overgrow again to hide The Beast.

Also, they are currently repairing the track. The section that was damaged has been removed and they are welding in new steel.

  6. From what I'm seeing on social media there were a lot of issues. Most seem due to the the out of date facility and equipment. Also, from the photos I'm seeing it appears the concert did not sell well. I just can't bring myself to paying the listed prices for bleacher seats. To each their own.

As for the future. I think it was a cool for the 50th season, but it's time to lay it to rest next year. That land could be better used for other things.

  7. Here's a pic of the current crowd right now less than 10 minutes before the concert. Let me say, more than I thought looking at the amount of tickets sold! They were playing announcements about buying tickets online in the park all day so maybe that helped a little.

If we get anything out of this, I would like to see some of their flat rides find a second life here. Berserker, Centrifuge and Orbit look like fun rides that would fit in well here.

I’m not sure if relocating the sky ride is an easy feat considering it was built for CGA and no other park.

I'd be happy with their sky ride and place it in coney mall.

Re-read the report. They have the opportunity to lease for "up to" another 11 years. I give it 3 years and its closed. I would start looking at other park s getting rides from CGA.

  10. Why are people so in love with a gate coaster? I like that KI doesn’t play all it’s cards up front. You know what’s inside-you don’t need a coaster screaming over the front door to build excitement. If anything I feel it diminishes it. I like that international restaurant is getting a lot more use here of late-pretty much ensuring that if we do get a new entrance experience-they won’t be “opening it up” too much , and we will still get that wonderful compress and release view that Disney and KI mastered so well.

Who said anything about a gate coaster????
