  1. Does anyone else besides me think that it looks like a beautiful coaster? I mean, the layout looks really cool IMO and the ride area looks awesome. I wish I could have tried it out mostly for the cutback element after the MCBR. There is something about that element that really interests me
  2. I was thinking while working today, what if Diamondback never stuck KI? That got me going to wonder what if (fill in the blank) wasn't at the park? I realize this may not be the most positively-minded topic , but I thought it could spark some interesting discussions. My main thought though was: What if The Beast was never built at Kings Island? What are your thoughts?
  3. As of today, left side is all stuccoed (spelling?) and right pillar is mostly done.
  4. I noticed at while sweeping today that the poles over by the first aid station had been cut to about 4 1/2 feet. They had placed some sort of gel cover on the top to avoid injury I assume. Makes me really wonder what these poles are for now.
  5. Well, this is interesting and I'm not sure what I should vote. I work there and therefore get free admission with the work ID, so i guess I would still go 10+ times.
  6. woops, my bad. didnt see that haha
  7. If anyone has looked at the Kings Island Official blog, they would have seen that the ring slipped off into the Octoberfest pond and the diver who found it was invited to the couples' wedding! Quite a cool story!
  8. So I left for Kings Island around 3:50 and got to the entrance at 4:00. I rode with my friend who had to work, so I was going to stay till close and leave with him. I decided to go up the Eiffel Tower first to get a view of the park and develop an idea of the crowd level. I went back down and headed towards DB. On my way there, I saw some fellow sweeps doing their thing (I am a sweep btw) and watching those big luminous clouds in the distance (shudder). DB was a 40 minute wait so that was a no-go. Crypt was out the cave so no on that. Beast had multiple switchbacks open and full so negatory on that too. I decided to go to X-base to get my first credits of the year on FoF and FH. I hopped in line for FoF and waited maybe 30-40 minutes for that. I must say, the ride was a lot of fun. Plus, by being a single rider, I sat next to a Kings Island first-timer. What a fun experience hearing them exclaim at the different aspects of the spaghetti bowl, too funny . So I walk out of the building and it's sprinkling a little bit. I check FH and it's closed of course, so I walk towards The Racer. Thats closed (go figure). I decided to go back to DB because thats all I was in the mood for, no AZ today. On my way over there, the rain really picks up and I'm starting to get soaked. So I finally get to DB after a long walk and you will never guess what DB was doing. Nothing! Uggh. So now that all of my options were shot, I went to get some pizza and fries. Tasting good as usual. I walked outside after finishing my meal and it was a flat out downpour. Geez! So I wait it out for 10-20 minutes and the rain becomes a sprinkle. I go back to DB and a little line is forming at the entrance. I quickly hop in, even though the ride was showing no activity. Soon enough one of the trains is put in the shed for rain mode (so I had hoped). But once the train was in, the clouds just unloaded on us. I was soaked to the bone and quite cold. Despite this though, I waited out the rain until it was back under control. THEN came lightning and thunder. I'm assuming the big guys in the offices had had enough and they decided to close the park around 7:45 before the weather got worse. Yep, no DB for me. Only 2 credits on the day of 4ish hours. O well, gotta have a poor visit some time or another. I still love the park and all the people in it. It's probably my favorite place to be at any time. But the rain just kind of screwed up this trip.
  9. A tad bit of bias on their part maybe haha
  10. That's exactly what I was thinking, it's just that I would replace ALL of the chairs in my house with the seats from DB haha
  11. Yes, these concrete forms are for the Starlight Experience. Besides them being in the former staging site for DB, they are also around BLSC (on the side closest to ET) and near the Skyline patio.
  12. I must say that the picture you took of Vortex is really amazing! I know that people take that picture all over the place, but i guess it was the perfect time for a picture of everyone's favorite Arrow looper haha
  13. I saw this on Saturday night. This is a standard model from a model making business called CoasterDynamix. If I were going to bet on it, I'd say this is not hinting towards a new coaster like this model. It's basically just an advertisement.
  14. http://www.wcnc.com/on-tv/Larry-rides-the-INTIMIDATOR-89257967.html?gallery=y&c=y&img=3 Anyone else besides me recognize the guy in the bottom left of this picture? Edit: go to picture three, sorry haha
  15. I've noticed the bees, but never had any problems or encounters with them.
  16. i went yesterday and im now a sweep. im very happy, mainly because I get to walk around the park all day and be outside!
  17. I completely agree! I thought that this ride was extremely fun when i went to WDW last year.
  18. Well, it looks pretty fun and I think that it was a good choice to put a themed family ride into the park. In my opinion, Cedar Point has kind of turned into a coaster park. This addition of a family ride will give families more to do in the park, therefore bringing in more families, and profit. Smart move by Cedar Point/Cedar Fair in my opinion. I can't really think of any downsides to this (other than the fact its not a coaster ) so if anyone can think of some, I'd be glad to hear them.
  19. Just thought I'd say that I'm not happy about this decision by Cedar Fair.
  20. Hmm, tough one, but I'd go Diamondback, Intimidator, then I305. They all look really cool, but Dback has everything I've ever wanted from a coaster.
  21. Well, Diamondback does have one more helix than Intimidator does, so thats a positive. Also, DB has the awesome splashdown ending and the first hill practically on the midway, which is way cool to watch! And Intimidator looks like B&M just took BD, Behemoth, and Nitro and molded them all together to make another hyper. Overall though, I'm excited about Intimidator!
  22. I'm sorry, but it already seems like the animation isn't doing it for me. It just seems out of proportion to me. Hopefully once they have it constructed I'll be a whole lot more impressed. Don't get me wrong, it looks awesome, but the animation is just a little disconcerting.
  23. I ran the 10K and it was awesome! the views that you got of Diamondback, The Beast, Firehawk, The Racer, and Son of Beast were sweet. Plus the course was very fun once we got out of the parking lot of course. i finished at 52:09, and this was my first 10k ever
