I'd consider The Crypt's space unused. Opening it up for 1 month as a "Haunt" attraction and letting it sit from April-September as basically nothing makes it unused space in my book. Screw the Haunt attraction, let's turn it into something cool that could be open all season long.
Was The Crypt's former footprint used, or just the queue line? (...and the antechamber?)

I'm far from up to date on the "Bluegrass Boardwalk fiasco." Might this of been planned as a preemptive strike to discourage Kentucky Kingdom's reopening, or no?

Kings Island Central has two great photo galleries
This gallery has relatively recent Kings Island photographs, including aerial views and construction photographs.
This much smaller gallery has historical photographs. Every one of the fourteen albums are well worth examining. Some photographs are of rides or attractions I have not seen depicted elsewhere.
There are a number of historical Kings Island brochures here.
Yeah I can honestly say I have never been on anything other than the forums.

From what I've read here, I am led to believe Kings Island was 'better off' sometime in the late seventies or early eighties, under either Taft or KECO.
Kings Island was burgeoning. Some say Kings Island looked to be becoming a destination attraction...
Circumstances changed, and that too. Cedar Fair did have influence in this- merely as a competitor.

I do not understand why it keeps being discussed renaming Fort Kinzel.
Mr. Kinzel is an extremely respected man who was intimately involved in building the Cedar Fair we know (and most of us, love) today.
How I see it, changing the name of the fort would be a malicious move, actually mattering only to Mr. Kinzel himself. Why would anybody deprive him of this small gesture, his name being remembered?

I went to Cedar Point for the second time a few weeks ago and experienced things differently than I had during my previous visit. (2006)
My four favorite rides of the day even (mildly) surprised me.
1. Skyhawk
2. Disaster Transport
3. WindSeeker
4. Calypso
I did not ride maXair or Wicked Twister.
I do not find very many roller coasters at Cedar Point 'fun.' On the majority (yes, the majority) of these, I'm too busy bracing myself for the next blow to notice the forces, views, at least to the extent I would like to. That, or uncomfortably being bounced around the inside of the car like a rubber ball.
From what it looks, very recent additions to Cedar Point have been going a different direction, in being less violent/ physically draining, up to the upcoming Gatekeeper.
I can easily see Gatekeeper taking Disaster Transport's spot in the order of most enjoyed rides during my next visit. (If I do go to Cedar Point again.)

Is it just me, or does Canada's Wonderland progressively become more of a destination park (in terms of attendance) nearly every season?

The new managers of The Beach Waterpark will want to improve attendance while keeping expenses to a minimum.
According to the following video... "We're going to spend over a million dollars of new improvements. Four new slides, a new kids' area, a new wave pool. So, by the time someone walks back in the park, it will be completely refurbished."
What do you think of these current plans? What course of action do you believe would be most effective?
I'll give my ideas after others have had their say... (If others, indeed, have anything to say.)

From what you've posted, I do not understand why the entire family would have gotten kicked out of the park. Did anybody besides that initial woman make a scene?

I'm having a really hard time figuring out how this will contribute anything to the site. The lack of proper spelling and capitalization isn't helping either. I'm not trying to be rude. This is just ridiculous. Why? Just why? Happy Sunday.

I disagree with some of what you are saying. Original's spelling and grammar are sub-par. Regardless, the idea for this topic is relatively unique and by every means discussable, and thus so contributing.
I would say rewording the first post that it is more formal (and easier on the eyes) will make the potential in this topic far more obvious. I would also say Original could use a few friendly pointers on forum etiquette.
Original, every member has an individual style on how he or she organizes language in order to clarify thoughts regarding any topic. (Or, in this case, bringing into the discussion a new topic.)
The purpose of communication is collective understanding. You want to be both clear (as in giving the necessary information to be understood) and concise (as in keeping with the focus of your writing.) Always remember, communication is not about what you're putting out there, but what others are understanding as a result.
Also, you want to follow at least the most rudimentary rules on English grammar. (Capitalization, periods, commas, paragraphing.) These standardized rules were set that English speakers would be far less likely to misinterpret each other's writing.
Look at these two sentences, as an example: "The panda eats shoots and leaves." "The panda eats, shoots, and leaves." Of course, this is an extreme example, the point being: Grammar seriously determines how others can/will understand your words.
In conclusion, I will retype your ideas above as I would have done it, but only as an example. My rhetoric and grammar are by no means perfect... and by every means eccentric! I ask you to develop your own personal, yet communicable style. With such, you, as an individual, will be better understood.

What was it?
never been to CPIt was an outdoor bobsled coaster that only goes 40mph and is 63 feet tall and was enclosed. It's a family coaster, really.
And to LongliveKingsCobra, it opened in 1985 as Avalanche Run and in 1990 was changed to Disaster Transport.
Flight of Fear's top speed is only 14mph above Disaster Transport's.

Childrens' areas seem to be most successful when the theme is reminiscent to the growing-up of adults (the ones bringing the children.) Being that the first 'modern' Mario game, Super Mario 64, came out in 1985, just under 28 years ago, the children who were playing this game in 1985 are roughly 35- 42 today.
Super Mario Bros. came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, not Super Mario 64. That came out in 1996 for the Nintendo 64.

Today these characters are popular among both boys and girls, but for how long has this been true?
Remember, adults are the ones taking children to themed kids' areas. If Nintendo did little marketing of its products towards girls in the late seventies- early eighties, these women (in their late 30s- early 40s today) will not likely be wooed by the brand. (For lack of nostalgia.)
Perhaps women born in this time period will attest to their familiarity (or unfamiliarity) with the brand?

Being that Mario became the massive trademark it is today in the decade after that initial story-starting hit, the people who will fondly remember the trademarked characters of 'the Mushroom Kingdom' will be between (at least I'm guessing) 25- 35 today. These are the ages in which people most commonly have children, so it seems these characters are becoming truly marketable for a non-arcade entertainment center for the first time. Unless...
Were these characters traditionally marketed primarily to young boys? If young girls were not familiarized with the brand until more recently, the overall marketability will be, of course, not be great, until around fifteen or twenty years after the characters were first successfully marketed towards young girls.
I am sort of unfamiliar with the demographics behind video game use, so much of this is speculation. (How familiar would women born in the seventies be with the Nintendo branding?)

It seems the park no longer sells fried fish. Fried chicken and fried shrimp are now being sold elsewhere, though its doubtful the prices will be as low.

I second jdawg1998. The water park is underwhelming, not only compared to the Kings Island dry park, but also compared to other water parks.

London Calling:
In order to hit as many rides as possible, I would suggest starting in the 'Action Zone' section of the park, and slowly making your way across the outside of the park. (Action Zone > Octoberfest > Coney Mall > X-Base > Rivertown > Planet Snoopy) This is because a plurality of park visitors start in Rivertown or Coney Mall...
The following rides have low capacity, and typically long lines:
* Invertigo
* Firehawk
* Backlot Stunt Coaster
* Boo Blasters on Boo Hill
I would suggest riding these while many of the park guests are eating meals.
The following rides (I believe) are considerably different from what at least the largest amusement parks in Great Britain have to offer:
* Flight Deck (One of the few remaining suspended coasters. Its FARRR off the beaten path, but certainly worth looking for.)
* Drop Zone (Either is the tallest gyro drop, or has the longest drop...)
* Delirium (Only a few in the world, though the two in the United States are found at Kings Island and Cedar Point.)
* Adventure Express (Custom theme.)
* Flight of Fear (First LIM launched coaster, wickedly twisted.)
* Firehawk (MUCH different from the B&M Flying Coaster, i.e. Air, Alton Towers.)
* Italian Job: Stunt Track (Heavily themed.)
* Vortex (Again, one of the last remaining.)
* WindSeeker (Year old model, though also found at Cedar Point.)
* The Beast (Custom Terrain Coaster.)
* Eiffel Tower (Excellent view of the park, and the thickly forested American Midwest.)
The best priced food restaurant in the park is (IMO) 'Outer Hanks,' located in Octoberfest. They sell reasonably priced fried fish, chicken, and shrimp. Most the rest of the park is overpriced. I also would suggest Skyline Chili, for the local flavor. You will not find so-called Cincinnati chili almost anywhere else in the United States.
The pizza (located throughout the park) I would suggest not purchasing... Very, very expensive. Not good quality.

My mind has different states... Where I am right now, I believe my posting will be disjointed, more so than usual. I will try.
A few years ago, I spend quite a lot of time reading through this site's archives from around 2002, 2003. That then place, I perceived as having been more belligerent than any KICentral I had seen... And now, have seen.

Actually, I had to read page five and six of this topic multiple times... and it still doesn't make sense to me! The logical progression... Well, there's none of that. I can't make sense of UncleHenry having 'popped in' where he did, at least in saying what he did.
Most of the previous twenty-five posts had, in my eyes, been so ridiculously inexplicit I could barely make out any kind of discussion (much less an argument.) All this speaking, without much of anything being said. Everybody agreeing, saying the same things, running in circles - with nothing new!
Had I jumped in like UncleHenry, I would have said,"Let us stop this rubbish lollygagging of verbal expression and discuss this related topic." I could have even said, "We need to get more of an argument going!"
...The way I see it, the word argument is only the negatively connotated parallel to discussion. What even is a discussion forum without argument? An agreement forum?
