  1. That makes 3 of us, doing basically the same trip within a few weeks.
  2. Here's the trip: 21st (July): Leave after dinnertime, stay in a hotel 22nd: Drive during the day, arrive at Dorney around Dinnertime/ evening, ride the rest of the night. Drive to our next hotel after closing at 10 23rd: Drive in the morning, arrive at Six Flags Great Adventure before opening. Stay til close. Drive afterwards to our hotel 24th: Drive in the morning, arrive at Hershey before opening. Stay til close. Drive to our hotel. 25th: Drive home. We have all of the hotel arrangements taken care of. The point of this thread was to ask for help. -For the most part, we know we have to ride Talon, Hydra, Steel Force, Ka, El Toro, Nitro, Fahrenheit, Storm Runner....oh you get the picture. We know we have to ride all of the big rides. Are there any smaller rides that we should do? -Places to eat in and around the park? We will be eating free breakfast at all of the hotels, and after that we will eat one meal in the parks each day. -Any in-park itineraries? -Coaster #100! It's currently planned for Talon, and I trust my sources on this one (Adam) but who knows! I currently have 94 so I'll be getting my 100th at Dorney -Has anyone been to Hershey on a Saturday? Gotta admit I'm kinda worried. How crowded should it be? -All in all, we are allowed on 33 coasters (Rolling Thunder and Lightning Racer count as 2). Optimistically, I'd guess we'd be able to get on about 25-30 easily. Alright that's it! Feel free to leave any tips or not, otherwise this can be used as a tool for others forming a trip to these parks. Thanks! PS Expect a PTR! EDIT: I've posted this thread on -G also for some other feedback.
  3. While X was a failure to Arrow, it's still the most unique and innovative coaster I've had the privilege of riding.
  4. I've ridden Diamondback, Goliath, and Apollo's Chariot, at I rank them in that order. AC seems very forceless to me.
  5. I'm not usually one to judge coasters, but are enthusiasts really saying THAT could be their #1? It really doesn't look all that amazing.
  6. This actually sounds like a lot of fun. Do you need to be affiliated with a certain coaster club?
  7. a. Completely and totally agree. IMO, Kings Dominion doesn't hold a candle to Busch Gardens. b. HAHAHAHAHA new signature!
  8. Kevin is one of those people. I really need to go here soon. Jackson, the Dragon Challenge queue still looks pretty awesome. Read this awesome PTR.
  9. My friend went to WoF a few days ago and said that his pass did NOT scan. He had to go to guest relations.
  10. This is shocking, saddening, and heartbreaking. I first heard on Dave's Facebook status, and I immediately checked KIC. For those who never met him, he was the essence of a good man. My prayers are with his family and everyone at Holiday World.
  11. At CP, I'd say front seat for most of the rides (I'm a front seat guy). But on Wicked Twister, my favorite row is, by far, the second to last. Obviously because you go up really high, but when you're at the top of the back spiral, you can look down. Plus the back row just looks straight into the second to back, because the cars have two rows.
  12. Eh, I guess I was just expecting some sort of animatronics, it was just a pitch black concrete tunnel.
  13. I rode Frightful Falls on Saturday- completely and totally skippable. It's a pitch black tunnel, then a slow outdoor section, then a lift and drop. That's it.
  14. Paula is EVERYWHERE! Whether that be in the kitchen at Kringle's, at the Timberliner car, in the Voyage station, or EVEN sweeping up trash outside the entrance (yes, I really saw her doing that). Thanks to the fantastic workers at HW for an unforgettable event. Nice meeting and seeing ALL of you: Jesse, Keith, Adam, Ryan, Angie, Jackson, Nick, it goes on and on. EDIT: I meant Pat. I get those names mixed up so often!
  15. I disagree. If you ride in the front (which I do on all floorless coasters), It's not bad. No worse than Dominator, IMO. Just wondering, why is it you enjoy rough woodies (Psyclone, Georgia Cyclone) but dislike rough steel coasters?
  16. Oh c'mon, it's not THAT bad!
  17. What if it was a Vekoma and in Rivertown? Just asking No thanks. In terms of steel, I can usually only deal with B&M's and Intamin's. . Can I ask how you can call yourself a coaster enthusiast when you only like steel coasters made by two manufacturers?
  18. My personal favorites are 1. Maverick (front) 2-3. Tie Raptor (front or back)/ Magnum (near the front, middle of a car) But Top Thrill Dragster and Millennium Force can't be missed for obvious reasons. Wicked Twister isn't amazing but sure is fun. I had never really liked Blue Streak, as I had only ridden near the back. I went opening weekend this year and rode in the front car back row. INSANE EJECTOR AIR. 'Nuff said. Skyscaper is pretty cool. If you have a Platinum Pass you can get a Buy One Get One ticket. I rode it 3 times last year and twice already this year. Just remember it's outside of the park and it costs $10. If you have a Platinum Pass (I'm assuming you do), the plan I always do is enter through the resort gate and go to Maverick for ERT. Now I usual am not there for full days, but then I'd go to Millennium Force, and after that wait for Dragster to open, if it hasn't already. These rides have the longest lines in the park, so doing that will save you a lot of time. After that, just ride as you please . PS: Do NOT attempt to ride Raptor before, say, 4 PM. Before that, lines verge around an hour. However if you go around 7 or so, I usually get 15 minutes or less.
  19. A hidden message, maybe? Anyway I saw the new sign there with Jackson on Friday night. Looks pretty cool.
  20. I take it SFoT hasn't had the best publicity lately, have they?
  21. Such is a variation of the eternal question of the US Court System. What constitutes "commerce"? It's the court's decision.
  22. Uh, I think that the people in Louisville would flock back to KK if it reopened.
  23. I usually don't bash others for their coaster opinions (as we all have different favorites), but if one were to say that they like Vekoma flyers over Tatsu I would be shocked.
