  1. I've ridden a Superman clone at SFoG and Tatsu, and I'd say they're both better than the Vekomas.
  2. Tomkatt: I totally agree that most smokers would like to quit. And I know it's not easy. My grandma recently quit after 50-some years, and it took her several months. However, the same grandma is now on oxygen all the time and is wheezing nonstop. When we (or I) say we don't want people smoking at KI, we're not just thinking about breathing in second-hand smoke, we (or I) are thinking about how harmful it is to the smokers and worried that they'll end up the same way. May just be me though.
  3. Sorry to ask, but is Chang coming back or no? EDIT: Ooh, could this mean....Twisted Twins?
  4. Part of it is. I was there a few weeks back and after riding Flight Deck, saw that it is dismantled from the entrance to about 20 feet in front of the bridge.
  5. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this topic. Seems like a lot of topics on here are pretty negative. The topic description says it all .
  6. Haha! That's awesome! EDIT: Well, the joke, not the part about him getting fired.
  7. They just need to enforce it. It's really not that difficult. They just don't enforce it, and that's the problem. I'm confident they could make it work.
  8. But in all honesty the majority of people at the park (who don't smoke) would be happier if smoking was banned altogether. EDIT: ^True that
  9. When smoking isn't banned, people are more likely to smoke outside areas because they already have cigarettes in their pocket. If it's banned, they don't. However you still get the people that will bring them in anyway.
  10. Has this speed ever been measured? A friend of mine guessed it was about 70, but taking a closer look last week it didn't look any more than about 55. EDIT: The reason I'm not a big fan of Millie is consistency. The drop and first overbank are amazing. Perfect. But after that, speed isn't enough. In my opinion, you need a ride to keep you entertained, and I just don't feel it does. The part between the tunnels is pretty boring, IMO. The part after the tunnels is decent, I like the bunny hill by the station, as it provides some good air. But other than the bunny hill, first drop, and first overbank, I just don't think the ride delivers consistently.
  11. it was definately NOT due to cold temperatures. it was rainy the first time, and supposed to be rainy the second time, and they would have lost money due to extremely low attendance. period. I planned to go both times, and was very disappointed then but i dealt with it because at least they told us beforehand. This time was once it was already open... they didnt even bother to change the sign yesterday... They still open up the park on weekdays before most schools get out, many days of which have extremely low attendance, but they still open up then. Moral of the story, when you say you're going to open up, OPEN UP. It's one thing to close the park while people are there, but to plan on having the park open, then telling us it's not open the day of, gets kind of annoying, especially when they do it twice in a row.
  12. Maverick! It's incredible really. So many different forces are thrown on you, it's great. Plus it proves a coaster doesn't need to go 80+ MPH or be over 200 feet to be really good. For CP I'd go: Maverick Magnum Raptor
  13. Taking a closer look at the Forbidden Journey, it looks awesome! I had no idea what it was, besides a dark ride. For those who don't know, it's a Kukacoaster that runs on a track! Sounds amazing!
  14. At least it's not as bad as Thursdays during Haunt. They easily could've opened up the park but due to cold temperatures it was closed.
  15. But ultimately, when you go to KI, the main thing you do is ride rides. I can say with confidence that 95% of people in the park on a given day aren't there to walk around and soak in atmosphere. And when the GP thinks of KI, they think rides, not, "Oh that show is so great, we just HAVE to see it!"
  16. Beautifully landscaped: Sure it is, but not even close to Busch Gardens. Unbelievable location and setting: Wait, are you serious? It's in the middle of hot, humid Virginia. There really isn't anything unbelievable about the setting or location at all. I'm sorry I just really can't see how you can praise these rides. Their FOF is rough and a lot of the theming has been stripped from it. Avalanche is fun for a family ride but horribly short and forceless. Shockwave or Anaconda? Ouch, enough said. Rebel Yell, is just not really fun at all. If they had made it similar to Blue Streak with epic airtime or like Racer with an ample amount it would've been pretty good, but unfortunately they didn't. I don't mean to bash your opinion or anything, I just think that you're exaggerating.
  17. I heard "Have a good day at Cedar Point, America's Rockin' Fun and Only"
  18. Did you ever have Chuck Wagon pizza? It was possibly the best pizza EVER
  19. Yes. Manhattan Express is worse than Mean Streak regardless of seat location. Yes, to me, the Roller Coaster at New York New York IS that bad. I'd gladly pay to NOT ride it. I disagree but whatever we all have our own opinions.
  20. No, I highly doubt it'd be a GG. Also, in the other article I believe Kinzel mentioned that CP would continue to be the park with the most coasters, and SFMM will have it tied very soon, so I'm guessing it'll be a coaster.
  21. I wouldn't say that, but I certainly don't think it's as good as everyone says it is.
  22. I have a question. It seems that last year, everyone was saying, "Oh, Kings Dominion is just a ghetto Kings Island, but still good." Why is everyone going crazy over KD nowadays?
  23. Oh please...Roller Coaster is not THAT bad. You want bad? Try Mean Streak in the back seat, then tell me if Roller Coaster is bad or not.
