  1. I didn't know what a season pass was until I was 19 and able to pay for one myself. No frills that I remember, just a way to get in free for the year. Did the park always have them, or did it go a few years in the beginning? Oh boy, memory lane..season pass holders back in 1985 entered through the gates to the left. I remember the last time I went as a season pass holder, we went through there and went right in, while everyone else waited to go through the main gates. I guess that was our "perk"? I had a pass a couple years ago as a gift, and haven't had one since.
  2. I still have a $200 credit with united-perhaps I should take another trip. Would love to see the iditarod......
  3. This year went by especially fast for me, and I really didn't have the chance to enjoy it. This winter, I gotta find a way to stay busy. Any ideas?
  4. Good to see you too Karen. It was awesome!! Would have stayed longer, but I had a long day and was just too tired.
  5. My night was over after that, but not because of the mist itself-although I do think it was a poor idea for this time of year. Other than that, it was great-I really like medical horror. The Stand is one of my favourite stories.
  6. I enjoyed urgent scare more than I thought I would. The only part I didn't like was the mist area at the exit. Too cold for something like that, but that's my thought.
  7. I totally agree. Personally, I think the fog at the park is much thicker this year than in years past. If it were me, there would be security everywhere you look after dark. I am glad they left the lights in front of the gate alone this year-it's a nice effect to put the red bulbs in, but any dimming creates a safety issue especially with all the trees.
  8. How beautiful-you made me cry!!!! Much of what you wrote I can relate to...riding beast with dad and The Racers as well. Whenever I step foot on beast I have the same thoughts that run through my head and every time I wish he was able to ride with me. I recall climbing the long stairway up to demon-my first looping coaster-looking off to the left once boarded and seeing wild country safari. And the one summer when I got off the dutch shoe ride (sorry can't remember the name of it) and dad giving me a sip of his beer....Thank you!!
  9. I've done it. I have a month of sick time built up due to years of great attendance, and considering the layoff coming up, I don't feel bad about it. The few times I have called off, I get called at home for questions-and this isn't the first job that has happened. Sometimes you just need a mental health day.
  10. Right now it is too cold for me, but this area is more bone chilling cold than alaska was. Can't explain it. I can walk around and such, but riding a coaster is out of the question. I think they are rough when its cold anyway and to me its not worth the achiness later.
  11. I'd like to see a Friday's maybe at the park-some kind of nice sit down restaurant where you didn't have to leave to get good food. When I returned from california, I was really upset to see the cars gone as well. What were they thinking???? I was thinking about this and I was gone from the park a total of 20 years-1985 to my return in 2005. Came home to a totally different park. I am still disoriented.
  12. Nope-would have had the tar knocked out of me-there is also a shame factor thrown in.
  13. That cake reminds me of the armadillo cake in steel magnolias (chick flick). Same concept-when you cut into it, it looked like blood. I was actually ok until I saw that slab of meat-ugh. The whole thing is a great idea though
  14. Great pics. I have a strong stomach, but for some reason seeing that plate of food in those surroundings made me sick. Ugh. Not sure I could do it.
  15. I find wonder wheel fascinating. Would like to ride it someday if I ever get back up there.
