  1. I remember now why I never post on here-too many arrogant know it alls. Have a good day.
  2. U mad bro? Be glad you can at least go to the park. I know friends that can't afford to go to the park once. Geesh, KI won't miss your business. Of course they won't. Life goes on. When you're on your own, you will understand.
  3. Hmmm, let's see if I understand this correctly. I WORK so I can't go to KI during off peak times. On the weekends and some evenings, I have seen that the park has had parking over the hill in the north lot. Hey, I'm glad they're doing so well. But the cost of admission, putting up with the crowds (mostly teens who can't even watch where they're going because they're so absorbed in that useless cell phone and those darn basketballs) well, I guess I've become too old for all this. If it's going to take that plus having to shell out half a hundred to avoid that nonsense, its just not worth it. I have a pass and have only been I think 3 times this season. I also live nearly an hour away now, and going to an environment similar to work just doesn't appeal to me. More power to ya if you have the money to blow on it. My trips in the future are probably going to be once maybe twice a year. I wish money didn't rule everything out there.
  4. And I had been burned several times from it. This is one case I was glad to see.
  5. Maybe not enough riders was the cause? Computer got confused? Just speculating.
  6. Grateful Dead-now that is an experience!
  7. Gross. I haven't been in a waterpark for years. I'm not a fan of going to the park on hot humid days for the same reason-sweat covered coaster seat, yuk!!
  8. If it were me, I wouldn't take the risk. Even if they reopen it at some point with major modifications, my fanny will not give it another chance, ever.
  9. So is Beast but it didn't send numerous people to the hospital over the years. If I was an insurance rep, there is no way I would insure that hunk of junk.
  10. I think that's a wise decision. Having been through a fire when I lived in Cali, you have to be real careful.
  11. I meant to add to the other thread that the locker prices are just plain stealing as well. Yes, that is just too darn high.
  12. This infuriates me. One thing I can't stand is a thief. I know it happens daily throughout the world, but that is my biggest peeve. I go in with as little as possible to the park or any other venue where a lot of people are gathered. It's refreshing when someone honest returns something they found or escorts a lost child to security.
  13. About 3 years ago I was talking to another woman at the gate. This little boy maybe 3 years old was leaving the park on his own, crying. He was taken into guest relations where mom had shown up to pick him up. Seems dad got tired of waiting for mom to show up and just let the kid wander off. (custody dispute). Mom was not at all grateful, she showed her backside, yelled at some people, grabbed her son, and left. Another time another little boy about the same age came through escorted by a couple who found him wandering alone. He wasn't upset, but it would have been very easy for those adults to kidnap the kid and no one would have known. Glad to see there are still good folks out there who do the right thing.
  14. I dont' find racers' bending that upsetting-I saw rattler's bends and that seems excessive to me. As far as Beast-I completely trust that structure. It just feels "right". Son never did.
  15. I would be worried about the blood pressure busting something in my brain. Scary thought.
  16. My condolences as well. KIfan, this has been going on since before I was born, but I think it is just now coming to light. A kid in my 7th grade class was bullied daily-and finally one day he went to the town library and put a bullet in his brain right in front of everyone. My class has a memorial for him every time they have a reunion; however, I view them as a bunch of hypocrites. Some of those very souls were the ones that made his life a living hell, and now that he's gone they're going to be sorry? Too late now. I went to the same school and had the same issues, as well as the same bullies. I am not looking for sympathy or anything, but my experiences up to freshman year turned me into the recluse I am today. That same year, I had a teacher lock me in a closet for not understanding a music piece. Randy didn't deserve what he got, but he had no one to help him-and I have no sympathy for those who are sorry now. I am glad its getting out there now. Maybe we can prevent a few suicides and Columbines.
  17. The entrance is dated, but leave it be. Newer does not always mean better.
  18. Where exactly did you see flat "hate" in this thread? As for the concrete work - it is possible that a footing may have a problem, but likely not due to a concrete problem, but a problem with the soil underneath. Recall on WindSeeker, they buried piles (which are a foundation element that transfers load down to bedrock usually). I'd doubt that piles were used under every footing (I don't know, I'm guessing some might, but all don't), which means the footings sit on compacted soil which was expected to be suitable for the loads. If something happened and that soil settled or was undercut by something like water, a repair might be necessary - they could be repouring a footing or the equivalent of slab-jacking a footing by pumping concrete into a void. Maybe the massive amount of rain we've had the past two years had something to do with it...that makes sense to me
  19. Probably a precaution. Halloween attracts trouble-add alcohol, and you have a hot mess. I am curious on how Haunt will be this year without them. I won't be there, so I will just keep my ears open.
  20. They started dialing back on use of the detectors starting in '09 and only reverting back to them on more crowded days/Haunt nights. Anyone know if the security guards and staff that would normally be posted by the detectors were still there? They were really nice/cool and I'll miss them if they're gone. A few of them work in perimeter which is entrance points to the park, most I know have moved on. Terp-from my observations I believe the past two years were a test.
  21. Not a popular opinion, but I would like to see a controlled demolition, and I think it would be awesome to push the button. That thing was wrong from day one and it needs to go. Beast on the other hand-that thing is running the best I have seen since opening year. Wow.
  22. I could too, but I'm gonna behave
