  1. I am wondering if they had cameras back then, and number two boys urinating in inappropriate places in the park happens more often than you could imagine.
  2. My daughter just missed being hit with a basketball on Beast a few years ago on the second drop. That is why those darn basketballs need to be out of the park. Funniest occurence on a ride? Approx. 1985 we had just reached the top of KCKC-and some 12 year old (guess) was standing up and taking a leak from the boat. Far as I know, nothing was done.
  3. Right. It was cool, but walking afterward was pretty funny
  4. I don't know how they could move around-I never wanted to.
  5. Have eaten 2 pretzels and 1 panda dinner so far this season. And that is more than I have eaten in the past 4 years.
  6. I wasn't going to either, but I am very pleased with the way things are so far.
  7. I like this openness. This is not national security, its a coaster. Sitting idle as long as it has, anyone can come to the conclusion that hunk of wood is history. With the metal detectors gone and the friendliness of the staff this year, KI has made a complete turnaround. One thing I noticed that I have never witnessed before. I was waiting for troika, and these two girls kept grabbing the leaves as they went by the tree. The operator warned them three times stating this was their third and final warning. Now I don't know what would have happened after the third warning, but I have seen one warning at best in years past.
  8. I disagree. The purpose of discussion is to exchange differing viewpoints without making it personal-something everyone needs to work on.
  9. I haven't seen him, but someone who is approachable was sorely needed. I am hopeful with the changes taking place. I went by the diner and the burgers actually smelled good. Some of the prices have gone down as well.
  10. That's a nice story. The attitudes in general are great this year, and I like it. I never understood all the secrecy for everything. Anyway I think the writing has been on the wall for quite a while.
  11. I have been as well, and I can tell you Beast rode as well as the early years. There isn't an air of tension in the park this year compared to past years and I will definitely be making more trips. I would like to mention I renewed my pass online, still using the one from last year, and went without a hitch. Thank you Mr. Ouimet for beginning the process of bringing my old park back. I plan to go again today once I am fully awake lol. As a side note, I plan to eat at the park today as well. Now I know Rome wasn't built in a day, but I would like to see more flats-you know, something for the elders to enjoy. I wish this change had been a few years back so my father could see it. Sadly, he is no longer able to walk far distances.
  12. One is the star wars, and the other is galaga/pac man in one. Its awesome
  13. I only did DB twice, troika and Beast-and let me say, this is the first time in several years I have not had my neck snap going into the helix. All the track work done in the offseason was awesome. Well done guys. I had Panda and it was good as always-and from what I hear the food quality is much improved elsewhere. Several repairs have been made, noticeably new fencing around preferred, and several simple, but needed, repairs like that. I had to work most of the day, so didn't see everything, but what I did see was great. Overall, I am very pleased with what I have seen this year.
  14. I'd like to see the trams return, but that probably won't happen. Gas prices.
  15. No, they sat out through the seasons. They are history
  16. Yet......you wouldn't believe what people try to bring in
  17. Taco salads, yum-like what used to be in festhaus many years ago. Hold the pink slime, please.
  18. I hate to see this, but really I wondered why they opened there to begin with. I had an inkling things were bad when they cancelled the winter program. Personally I am going to miss the palm tree that was always planted at the entrance. I don't know if anything could survive there, but the strip doesn't need another hotel or eatery. Before I went to bed last night I read somewhere that the city of Mason was going to do all they could to help the beach with this unfortunate event. Keep in mind, this is the same council who tried to sneak that insidious admission tax 2 years ago. In all fairness, the putz who did this is no longer on the council, but costs of doing business are destroying many industries.
  19. I still get the message if I navigate the site. What generally happens is the first 2-3 stories are fine, and if I go into the history like 2007 or whatnot, that message comes up again. I still use chrome.
  20. I am bracing for the worst right now, because my gut tells me this is going to get real bad this year. When it was 4.20, I was in serious financial pain for quite some time. It contributed to me making the decision to sell my house. It sold June 2007-right before the crash. Talk about luck. We are entirely too dependent on foreign oil. I know people have poo pooed this movie and my promoting it-but go on you tube and watch oil storm. Farfetched? I don't think so. Some of what caused the spikes in prices in the movie have happened in reality-just not all at the same time, as in the film. I know I have paid attention to how things work in it, and it made sense. The day will come-very soon I believe-that we will have to make some serious changes in how we live. The current way is just not sustainable. http://youtu.be/-iCDeywiTJM This movie was released June of 2005-before Katrina.
  21. That's foolish. May not bother you now, but it will.
  22. That's what bothers me. This world is crazy enough to be this extreme. They don't think anything about raising it 50 cents with a phone call, I wouldn't put it past them-and the recovery would come to a complete stop. We're not out of the woods yet-and just a thought, I wonder what the impact was with the keystone deal and how it may have played into this? Even if you have a season pass, getting there is going to be too expensive.
  23. http://moneyland.time.com/2012/02/06/gas-price-hike-expect-4-a-gallon-or-perhaps-6-by-spring/?iid=pf-article-mostpop1 I don't know if this is the spin doctors getting out of control, or if its something we should realistically prepare for in the coming months. If it does come to pass, what will the overall effect be on local parks?
