  1. The most famous picture is of him with a tour group (i believe?) in the shelter underneath the ticket/season pass sales building.
  2. Wow, I never knew that KI Central had a sub domain pertaining to Coney island. Great job with the site CoastersRZ, I honestly never knew that much about Coney Island, nor its rides (as I have never visited it) but I really want to take a trip now! Keep up the good work!
  3. ....it better not be the hat im thinking of....
  4. Took the words right out of my mouth
  5. My favorite memory of 2004 was back in July when the group I hang out with celebrated Coasterdime's 450th ride on Eagles. Me, and the entire gang took up all the flyers, and one of The Beast crew members (who shall remain nameless:D) gave us 2 rides. A wierd coincidence was after that night, was when Eagles started being closed more often because of maintinance issues...lol fun times...ill never forget
  6. I really wish i could of made it over the weekend I had to work all weekend at my other job I know you guys had fun, and hopefully PKIC-U can get some winter events going again like last off season!! m@ilman
  7. Just an observation, but to anyone wondering about the restraint issues for FC and how the lady fell out, at about 1:25 ish on the video, notice how high up that restraint fits on that man in the seat. the bottom of the restraint touches his chest, compared to The Vortex (or any other OTSR for that matter) which fits all the way down to your stomach. that, and not having a divider in the middle of the seat, its simple to see how she fell out of the ride. Just an observation that is made more clear for you folks not familiar with the ride . m@ilman
  8. Oh, did you guys notice on the left, the 2 white road stripes too? kinda Italian job-ish... btw, you guys are going to go nuts at this press conference when you find out what all is going to be included in the new attraction next year seriously, if you are disappointed(which you wont..), Ill buy you a Coca-Cola... I unfortunately will be out of town, but enjoy it...I Highly, HIGHLY recommend everyone comes. m@ilman
  9. I have to disagree with you on that..but I agree, they run a pretty clean park. The cleanest park I have seen, and made NUMEROUS comments on our trip there, has to be Holiday World...next time you are there...and if you spot some trash, its probably becasue you also see someone picking it up and throwing it away... m@ilman
  10. Some things I noticed by this ticket Dane Recieved: 1. Traffic Violation: only thing I can think of with this part and by the colors on the ticket are Italian Job....if anyone disagrees, please post here. 2. "Premier Press Confrence".....maybe this is showing our manufacturer? Premier Rides? maybe its a press confrence WITH Premier...dunno, just a thought...lol 3. "Vehicle make: BMW Color: Red" Anyone who is a car fanatic knows that Mini-Coopers are manufactured by Bavarian Motor Works (a.k.a BMW). Where else have Mini coopers been seen in high profile scenes? Goes back to #1....Italian Job. This is just me reading what Dane got and making my own assumptions. Hope this enlightens you and if you see anything else that I dont...please post. m@ilman
  11. Yeah, back in the days when Kings Island was owned by Taft broadcasting, the resort was amazing. Disney quality and was in conjunction with Kings Island. Like Chef has said before, the resort offered (well, still does) a shuttle to and from the park. My Grandparents and my family stayed there once during christmas when my grandparents gave us season passes for the following year and we went to Winterfest. Very nice and from what I remember, very high class. --Fast Forward to 2004--- Now Paramount owns Kings Island (duh..). The only thing that the Resort and PKI have in common anymore is in the name. I believe the resort is no longer owned by Taft, and was bought by an independant company. Everything has gone down hill with the resort, and really the good thing about it anymore has been stated in previous posts...its close to PKI and has a shuttle service. The word RESORT in the name has become a joke...the clientele is more of the motel crowd rather than the resort crowd. The food is mediocre, and everything...EVERYTHING is out of date. I just think they dont have the funding to do anything anymore with it so they are trying as best as they can with it....but it really needs help. Just my opinions though...any other thoughts? m@ilman
  12. We NEVER take any situation "with a grain of salt." Each situation that comes to Guest Relations about a ride (as long as it is documented VIA an Action Report) is brought to the Rides Manager and the Rides OD's attention. Then the document is entered into the Action report database and HAS to be followed through by a rides manager. So whenever you fill out that sheet of paper, good or bad, its ALWAYS looked at by Upper management. Back on the Origional subject: Chatter, when you visit the park again this season, please stop by Guest Relations and fill out an Action Report. This may not seem like much to everyone in the forums here, but it is/can be a bigger issue than most people think, and filling that out can get something done about it. Thanks! m@ilman
  13. From what Jeff has said, this is the date they will announce the plans for 2005. m@ilman
  14. As I was told by the marketing department today, the official date and time for the 2005 announcement will be August 12, 2004 at 10AM at PKI (of course). m@ilman

  17. Grease, Cigarette smoke, Popcorn, asphalt sealant and sometimes that slight wiff of some type of sugary substance...maybe cotton candy. m@Ilman

  23. Ok, to clear up some confusion for this ill explain about the books. The books, or more affectionatly called Diary's , are handed out each morning by Guest Relations with the time they are handed out. Usually we have a quota to meet, like we need to get 10 Season Pass Holders, and 10 Mothers with children. On certain days we get different Diary's and specifically on this day you are discussing, is the "Fast Pass" booklet, where the Guest with the diary and their party present the booklet to the ride that they choose (its explained in the diary) and they get a time to come back, or ride then (much like Walk on Weekends). In the diary the party is supposed to record EVERYTHING they have done for the day.(I.e. went to Emporium, and bought a Sponge Bob Square Pants plush doll, went to Bubba Gumps and bought the fish platter..and so on.) Each page is broken into departments like, "Seeing any shows?" "Riding any Rides?" "Purchasing Food?" and the like so you can describe and how much you have spent for the day. At the end of the day before the party leaves, they bring the diary back to Front Gate Guest Relations, we log the time they left, and the party gets at MAX. 4 free GAD tickets. (It used to be we would give enough tickets for the whole party...if you had 10 members in your party, you got 10 free tickets, but this has since changed.) The Tickets are logged into our ticket database, and whenever they want to use the tickets, they come to GR and get the appropriate amount for the day. As for the Surveys, these are done each day by Guest Relations. In the morning we have Point of Orgin Surveys(PORGS). These are the people you see in the morning at the front gate with the Palm Pilots. Please dont be scared of them..lol. The survey only takes a minute, and that minute might help your day out alot! In the afternoon we have Food Surveys, where we survey how the Food Service Department is doing, and any opinions the guests have about the food/cleanlines and the like. In the evening, we do a Guest Satisfaction Survey(GSS), which you just express how your day was and any comments or concerns you wish to express. These are usually passed (when i do them atleast..) at the Eiffel Tower and International Street. In addition we have the Boomerang Bay Survey which is similar to the GSS, and we used to have a survey at the beginning of the season for the Paramounts Magic of the Movie show. Hope this helps! m@ilman
