  1. My first rides on Voyage were in the dark of night at Holiwood Nights and I hadn't even let myself look at pics. I had no clue what was going on after the 3rd hill until the next day. Words connote describe such coolness!
  2. I've never been either and I was upset when it closed. However, time has taught me many things and one of them is that many people cry over spilled milk but I'm happier just moving on. Life is painful and bad things happen. I heard good reasons why KK failed and perhaps it was time. If Hart revives it, great! I may even get there some day but I'm not placing much emotional weight on it anymore.
  3. I've never heard that. Seems to me that people love Holiday World for what it is. It's the furthest drive I make to a park with my family and we look forward to it more than KI, and we haven't even been to CP as a family.
  4. Thanks Browns, now I can actually say there's one I like!
  5. Have you considered Fast Lane? If you're only doing one park trip and going during the busier part of the season, it could well be worth the extra cash.
  6. I can say Maverick or Magnum but, just like Indyguy... I can't really say anything else.
  7. Everything looks a little squished together but I think it's about right... Should probably be a bit more to the right, I just looked at the TTD webcam.
  8. I like, in this picture, how the closest spike of WT fits into that huge corkscrew-type element and how that mirrors the other spike and the Giant Wheel. It's a cool symmetry.
  9. That's a really good point. I love the coasters at HW but my fondest memories are of family time in the water park! Actually, that's what always comes up when we talk about HW.
  10. Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend was incredible and one of my all time favorite events!
  11. 3 or 4 times for me. Busy year with low cash flow so no other parks either. No sure yet what this year will bring but parks or not, it will be a great year!
  12. The things I learn on this site When I was really little, Dad used to drive a Pinto.
  13. To be fair, I thought it was pretty gaudy when it was the Paramount Story. For example, that Gremlin kills the aesthetics of the fountain.
  14. 11-10-08 I got into KIExtreme after following DB construction (really just land clearing at that point) for awhile. Then I started liking KIC better and I've been here ever since. I'm truly grateful for all this community has given me! There are some amazing people on here with a very diverse set of talents and knowledge bases. Thanks KIC!
  15. Well my friend, I have been reading the thread... that's why I was surprised no one else had posted the article when it was on multiple other sites. I guess I'm still confused. I thought the article I linked was saying he had secured the other funding needed to complete the project. So is it that the "undisclosed Kentucky bank" the article mentioned will only give the money if they get the 1 million tax rebate mentioned and that rebate has not been agreed to?
  16. So, it appears there is a deal with Hart after all. Surprised I'm the first to post this... http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20130124/NEWS01/301240028
  17. I thought that it was odd that Natalie Koch was making the statements. I had kinda forgotten about that.
  18. Those pictures are great and I really appreciate you sharing them!

    A diversion

Don, I got quite a laugh out of the title. Very clever!
  20. Sonofbaconator, I love that pic... almost as much as my daughter. She said we should take it to school so her friends can see it
  21. They do and it's beautiful. That's why some are worried about it being overdone. The fountains at night are one of those memories that will be sorely missed if the new show is gaudy. I'm not. I'm cautiously excited about it.
  22. Mr. Ouimet seemed so enthusiastic in that video and, on PB, Jeff said that he (Ouimet) was as giddy as any enthusiast in the building. I remember another time when Jeff and they were by Mantis and Ouimet said how proud he feels to be a part of this . I am truly impressed with him and so excited about the future.
  23. I've been once (2 days) and had a blast. Liked the atmosphere and didn;t really have complaints, though they were not prepared for opening day. Dominator opens early and is a great start to the day. Volcano is a must and is known for having a long line all day. I rode front and totally understand why Terpy puts in in it's own class. I've heard many people advise to start at Dominator and get to Volcano when it opens. I adore i305 rode it 20+ in a day. Apparently it usually has a pretty short line so no worries there. Grizzly was closed. Hurler was fun but noting special in my book. Anaconda wasn't worth the credit and was a real headbanger. Wasn't really impressed with their Crypt but the themeing was great. Didn't do their Flight of Fear or BLSC because I had so much fun on i305 and Dominator I didn't feel like riding them. Oh, I;'ve hateed every wild mouse I've been on but loved their. Re-rode it several times. Glad to hear your going. You'll have a blast!
  24. Thanks. You should try playing one! It's a Joe Perry Signature which has an active pot (pull-push for on off) for one of the tone knobs so it's like having an onboard wha to use as a filter. So much tone!!!
