Why do they need to be outlawed? Cedar Fair sells them, look for Coaster Gear in the park stores that's where we got ours. They are very useful and with a large sweatshirt or any large shirt (not tucked in) no one can see that you have one on. I carry a video camera, phone, cigarettes and lighter in mine and it was on every ride at Cp, KI, KD, Bush Gardens and more for the last 10 years and never lost a thing. It is also a great place to put that loose change that I get from the stands during the day after a blue ice cream. I say was because finally after all of those years I had to replace mine last year at KI because the pull tab on the zipper broke off.

This area was a vast stretch of concrete without shade. I believe now there will be a center pole with an outer ring of poles that they will stretch a sun screen material, like in some Q lines. With flower planters and benches for people to sit and enjoy a refreshment while people watching. It will be for some of those people that are too chicken to ride, they can stop at the new shack and have a sandwich or strips. What is going on looks a lot like the viewing plaza in front of Gatekeeper, round shady area with flowers, seating and food nearby.

Has anyone noticed what looks to be a building being built on the top of the first drop for The Bat? The other day I thought it was just some boards to protect the painters, but today it looks 3x as large and has what looks like a roof on it. Ride up the lift hill go around the corner into what looks like a barn and the ride drops out of the floor, looks interesting.

I voted Dive Machine because I think KI should get something Cp does NOT have. I think Cedar Fair has a chance to make OHIO a destination for coaster riders with the best collection of coasters in the world. They could build the best, tallest, fastest, longest coasters that Cp doesn't have at KI, the world would come spend some time and money at both parks like my family already does.

I just entered my son and I's Cp Platinum Pass # and it worked for me, both with free drink bands.

Ok Thanks, I now see that platinum & gold have lost that Premium parking option, I will miss that. You have now made me take a look and compare Platinum Perks between KI and Cp, there is not a lot of perks for KI pass holders compared to Cp. I think KI needs to take another look at the food perks Cp is offering and copy them.

What I do not understand is after all the years KI has had Premium Parking they get rid of said parking the same year that Cp adds Premium Parking. Could it be that KI is just moving the Premium Parking to a different location or enlarging it, why remove it now.

If it was me my trade would be, To KI Sky Hawk, Antique Cars, and a frog hopper ride to be named later for Diamondback at Cp.

While being a person that saw KI in its opening year to today, I also hope CF will bring back a lot of the beautiful landscaping that KI had in those early years. I grew up going to Cp for years before KI was even built and always thought it created a different atmosphere in the park at KI. I would like to see the new CEO bring that back and would be very happy if that was spread that around all of the parks instead of building the same rides in every park. Why would I and my family want to buy our Platinum passes to go to these other parks if they are all the same, If you have ridden one WindSeeker you have ridden them all.

Not a rumor but a funny thing happened to my son and I on TTD last year. We were in the front seat late at closing with a men and his son in the second row, the train locked into the catch car and while my son and I put our hands up waiting for the green lights the spiel started, Hands Down, Hands Down, Hands Down, the boy behind us says sir their talking to you, just as the train launched. I just LMAO at the boy because he was not ready or prepared for the launch and it surprised the crap out of him.

I second that idea about Pink's. That will be the first stop after entering the park, can't wait for a Pink's coney with mustard and sauerkraut on arrival May. 18th.

How do you pull that off since Mt Dew isn't served at the park? She brings it in with her, and is another reason to leave the park for food and drink.

Never in the park long enough to eat, maybe a blue ice-cream for me and the boy, a slice of LaRosa's and a MtDew for the wife. Then it's off to Frishe's or Skyline down the street.

Great idea and an even greater job with the retake of these pictures, they look awesome. I was a teenager back when the park opened so I was not thinking about pictures back then and it is nice to see what I missed as well as what has changed. I myself just came across old Cp photos my parents took from the mid 70's and may try to do the same thing next year. Keep the pictures coming.

I understand the closed for private event, but the Ki calendar shows open Fri, private event for Sat (open to public 7-1), closed Sunday. I just don't understand the closed Sunday thing, how are they going to collect my nickels.

So why is Ki not open on Sunday the 25th? We will be going by there Sunday for my sons hockey games and wanted to stop in to ride some rides but they are not open

I agree KI could use more flats. When you walk around there is a lot of distance between ride., KI has a nice collection of coasters and could always use more but I think flats should be a priority.

I see DB single rider line as line jumping but not Mavericks at Cp. My family saw it first hand at DB just days before FL started. Two girls in SRL were assigned empty seats on our train, one with our son and one farther to the front, when it came time to board they did not and then got back together in the Q up front, second seat. When ride opps came to lock us in they wondered where the single riders went and we pointed them out up in the second Q line together. Then the employee thanked us, locked us in and then went and removed the girls back to the SRL. That would be one of my deffinition of line jumping, not everyone in the SRL is by themselves and a single rider.

I think the crane's could be helping adjusting the cables for the silver ring, as well as to attach the silver ring to the orange ridecarage . The silver ring continues to go up and down about 50ft If you zoom in on the wide angle cam from CH19 it looks like the paver's also run down the path leading to The Beast . Wasn't that blacktop last year, it seams to have a red tint to it just like Coney Mall.

If you look at the orange arms to the left behind the booth it looks like something white has been added. Could be some kind of lighting strip attached to the ride that they are wiring.

I believe that in the last picture you can see the beginnings of the Dino trail.

It looks like the top cone is on a flatbed getting ready to fly. Or is that an elevator car they dropped on the pad? Could it be the top cone has a door for someone to go out on an observation deck as talked about in this thread?

When the tower is toped off, will that crew move on to Sandusky and start the Cp erection Pun intended? I mean that nothing is happening at Cp and I believe the Ki crew will turn the Ki tower over to electricians and another crew that will finish the ride. I have seen crew ride in a basket on the crane to the top of the tower. Ps; there goes the next to last piece to the top.

The map looks to be folded in half and 2/3 of the map are exposed, the other 1/3 looks to be covered by another map. Are they just trying to hide the new Coney Mall on the map or lite the fire of SOB. Is SOB really there, or are we SOL.
