  1. No offense, and I'm sorry to go off of what other people are saying, but that really really really made me want to slap you across the face.. Once again, no offense. You can ride ONE woodie on different days and have two different ride experiences, heck, you can ride one on the same day (say it rains or something) and it could change the experience. Trust me, a few weeks ago I had my absolute, hands down, BEST ride on The Beast. It was extremely rough, extremely fast (or at least it felt like it) and just felt down-right out of control. Then I returned to KI a few days later and it was completely tame and was just a bad ride. Just at KI there are 3 totally different wooden coaster experiences. Racer - a classic out and back woodie with some good airtime packed in a simple, trimless layout. Sonny - while it has some similarities to its "father" (double helixes), it provides a COMPLETELY different experience than Racer or Beast. A humongous woodie, with quite a few ups and downs. And it used to have an inversion! (I really didn't do a good job at summing this one up, forgive me.. It's been a while since I've ridden it) The Beast - A ground-hugging woodie, terrain using coaster which stays close to the ground for a good part of its run. It has a double helix as well, and unlike the other two "big" woodies at the park, pretty much all of its layout is hidden to the rest of the park. And that's just at Kings Island... Yeah, so..... please don't say that again. I don't mean to sound snippy or mean, I just prefer wood over steel. Sure, woodies can't (yet)/don't launch, drop at 90 degrees, have no floor, loop multiple times, or be inverted (FYI: I'm not saying that some of these things can't ever happen), but in MY opinion they provide a better ride experience overall. -Josh, who obviously prefers woodies and will defend them to the death.
  2. Honestly? I don't/won't say anything... at this age anyways. First off I'm not a confrontational person, and second I'm pretty small for my age. But that also makes me think... because I'm a kid would mean they couldn't do anything to me.. hmmmmmmm.
  3. Steel: 1. MILLENNIUM FORCE 2. Diamondback 3. Maverick 4. Top Thrill Dragster 5. SheiKra Wood: 1. The Beast 2. Son of Beast 3. Tornado (Stricker's Grove) 4. recaR 5. Ozark Wildcat (Celebration City)
  4. Jackson - As soon as I saw your PTR I said "Yay!" because that's much I love your PTR's... not to sound stalkerish (no offense to stalker ) ANYWAYS! When I went to SeaWorld it was later in the day and I didn't do very much.. Kraken once (maaaaybe twice) and Journey To Atlantis once and then Shamu ROCKS! (night show which was awesome by the way) as well as Believe. Then when I was littler I remember going to SeaWorld and my mom and I were chosen to go up and kiss Shamu... Well actually my mom was.. I got up and ran up with her SeaWorld is a FANTASTIC park! Glad to see you enjoyed it!
  5. Maverick and Magnum are great rides, don't get me wrong, but Millie definately takes the cake for me. The constant speed, the first drop, the anticipation (including it flying by the queue every few minutes), everything about it is just amazing. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get off that ride without a smile. I love Millie so much I can't even take it
  6. For me its Snake River Rapids. It's hidden in the back of the park so it hardly has a line, and also it's calm and relaxing with a few fast parts. Also I love being in the woods
  7. havent been to KI in over a month. Thats sad.

  8. Love this new camera! I wish I had your talent! Hope to see you at the park soon!
  9. WOW! I love that sign! It's really bright and inviting.
  10. I saw other pictures and it didn't look so great, then I saw yours and it made me wanna go for myself!!! Great PTR!
  11. My friend got a call from them during Spanish class and picked up. It was pretty funny.. *phones aren't allowed in school, yet he picked up anyways* "Who the heck are you talking to?" "Kings Island..." "HOLY %#$@ LEMME TALK TO THEM!!!!"
  12. I really want to go back, I've only been once so I need to go again so I can actually soak up more instead of rushing to ride everything. Great PTR and I like the detail you put into it! Please start doing more of them!
  13. Maybe you guys are over-reacting? It could be they are just amping the scene up a bit with better special effects? I'm not trying to be rude or anything... I'm just thinking that you guys could be over-reacting... Josh, (in the words of Terpy) just sayin'.
  14. Thanks guys for the positive comments! And Tom, it was nice meeting you as well.
  15. ALLLLLRIGHTY! I had a great day at Kings Island last Saturday, and with tests all last week I didn't have the time to post this on here. So for those of you who enjoy my trip reports, I'm sorry for taking so long... and for those of you that don't enjoy them, you're welcome. Lets get down to business. I woke up around 7:45ish ready and raring to go! ...but, as always, nobody else but me was. The rest of my family got up around 8:30 (I wish I had a family who loved coasters as much as I do..) So after getting ready and blah blah blah, we managed to get out of the door around 9:30. (which was pretty saddening because I had hoped to be first Diamondback train of the year. -sigh- Oh, the places I'll go when I have a driver's license.) We arrived at the parking entrance and got in the line that took the longest (of course) and got into the park at about 10 exactly. Surprisingly it didn't take long to get in the park at all. I got a text from Jackson (Beast1979) saying that he was at Flight Deck waiting for it to open. So I met up with him, Kevin (KIKevin), Aaron (PKIVortex) and Adam (pkiboy). I ended up getting the first train of the year in the back seat.. Let me tell you, I was ECSTATIC to be back in my park. You can ask Jackson and Kevin, I said I was so happy to be back in the park probably 20 times. ANYWAYS, back to the ride... As with every ride I rode that day, I was caught off guard by the forces.. Flight Deck felt so much more forceful than usual. After Flight Deck, the whole group decided on riding Xtreme Skyflyer so I waited while they rode because I left all my money with my dad who went off somewhere else in the park. I waited and froze my butt off (IT WAS COLD!). I talked for a bit with Kieth (KIFan1980) and then waited and waited some more. Other KICers walked up (Rachel - Stalkerchick, Jared - Rotag, Alyssa - TrainedBeast, and Tom - Tom and some numbers O:) among others). So after waiting for people at Skyflier, we (Jackson, Kevin, Kieth and I) went down to FD for another ride. After FD for the second time, we (at this point Jackson, Kevin and I) took the long way through Planet Snoopy (WHICH I FREAKING LOVE SO MUCH MORE THAN NICKELODEON!!!), under Diamondback (which I was eagerly waiting to ride) and onto the train. When we were done drooling over Diamondback and all of its awesomeness, we noticed that it has so much potential for a theme, or even a show... We walked into Coney Mall and noticed (among many other small changes throughout the park) that EuroBungie was replaced with EuroBobble (which is basically a Zorb on water). Anyways, we met up with Adam and Aaron again for a Vortex ride and Kevin had to leave. In line, we geeked out over all the noises that Arrow Coasters and even saw a monster! (Feel free to ask about that) I had a great ride in 7-1, complete with freaking airtime amazingness on the first drop. Jackson and I split from Adam and Aaron who went to eat and rode Blue Racer. I was suprised to see that on the third hill they had put a chain on whereas they used to just have anti-rollbacks. I was excited to see that Racer got some love (the new chain, track work, and also THE BRAKE RUN WAS FREE OF GUM!!! ). So Jackson and I walked through Coney Concessions and drooled over candy and Snoopy stuff and walked through the Tower Gardens which are now a smoking section... :/ And we went onto the tower. At the top, we watched rides cycle and noticed that BLSC (along with its ugggglyyy new trains) BARELY made it through the helix! For whatever reason, it was running pretty slow that day. And for the ride I had been the most excited for... Diamondback!! After a combination of shivering and shaking in anticipation, I got to ride! We rode 1-2 and let me tell you... It was the most forceful ride I've ever had on DB. Maybe it was because of the offseason, maybe because the trims were light, probably a combination of both. Honestly, it was one of the best rides I've had on it, second only to my first ever ride. We walked over to Adventure Express and met with Rachel, Justin (JustinM17), Tom, and Angie (gigacoaster2k) among others. Fun ride, as usual. So Tom and Angie went their own way and I stayed with Jackson and Rachel and others and rode Dogems... At this point it was nearing the time I had to go so I left them and met up with my family. I liked meeting many new KICers and also I liked the little improvements here and there that were throughout the park. I was also very impressed with Planet Snoopy, it was very inviting and colorful. Anyways, that's it for my trip report. I hope to ride with even more KICers later on in the year! Enjoy! -Josh
  16. Great PTR as always. You did a good job of summing up every little thought and sight that we came across. I had a great day!
  17. ...I am in awe with how much better this looks than Nick. Honestly.... I love it and I am now even MORE excited!!! I have no idea how I'll be able to sit through school tomorrow. I'm going to get my pass processed today so I'll give you guys any thoughts that come to mind when I see the new area.
  18. ^^Really? I only see the outer fountains staying at the same height.. I do remember them switching heights and stuff though.
  19. I forgot to do favorite sight, smell, touch, and taste! Sight: Kings Island in the fall.. Especially on the last day. The painted leaves along with the the cool air, the breeze... Smell: Definately the chain grease on Woodstock's Express , Racer, and Beast. Touch: I love riding DB at dusk, diving into the ravine and feeling the cool, moist air then cresting the next hill and feeling the warm air again. Taste: Cheese coneys sitting at the Skyline Patio, watching BLSC.... 26 days people!
  20. Giga, I waited in that line (I started by The Crypt's entrance), and I'd say it was roughly 2 1/2 hours. As for me, it's either Beast, Racer or DB.
  21. At this point, I'm saying I want to ride The Beast although I'm almost 100% sure I'll ride Diamondback first. Like last year I said I was going to ride The Beast and wait for DB's line to die down, but I ended up running to Diamondback's line first. Josh, who feels bad for not riding The Beast enough last year...
  22. I have many favorite sounds at Kings Island... but by far my absolute #1 favorite sound of Kings Island is walking towards the park from the parking lot, hearing the faint screams, watching/listening to Invertigo ascend up the hill, identifying each and every ride I see operating.. ("There's Delirium, Oh look! Son of Beast!, Drop Tower's about to drop!") Walking into the park (especially after a long absence from the park) is probably the most prevalent memory I have of the park.
  23. Gee, thanks for making me miss it even more! Just kidding though, this is pretty cool. Thanks for posting. Josh, who has butterflies who have booked a stay in his stomach for the next 35 days.
  24. I agree.. As much as I miss Kings Island and roller coasters in the cold winter months, I have to say the offseason makes me appreciate them that much more. If KI were to be open year round I don't think it would be so special. It'd just get old because you can go there whenever you want. -Josh, in math class.
