  1. The move is pure marketing genius. He betrayed Cleveland, fans torched his Cavs jersey. He returns, everyone buys the jersey once again.
  2. I was not aware to a fire on Outlaw Run. I am assuming that it was during construction?
  3. Wooden coaster with inversions? I rode Outlaw Run, fantastic. Maybe a Gravity Group woody??
  4. I am going to make this brief. My Wife talked me into trip to see one of her friends. I wasn't really excited about going, but she told me that her friends have a place in Branson. Silver Dollar City was her way to convince me to go (didn't have to try too hard) It was cool and rainy on a Tuesday, we went after 3 pm.. First ride was Thunderation, great coaster. Then onto Outlaw Run We went 3 times in a row. Front, middle, then back. Loved it!! Then we took a spin on Wildfire another great ride. Rode a SS swing ride, can't remember the name. Went back the next day and rode all the coas
  5. So, someone had to make that decision, not to follow RCCA recommendations and design (by cutting corners) Is that known, or was it done as a collaboration?
  6. Wow!! I am confused. So, RCCA designed, KI fired them and built it "in house", cut corners, and did NOT follow all ride designs as recommended by RCCA? Did I get that right? If so, why? Why sink a ton of money into something to just cut corners? BAD MOVE KI
  7. I was wondering, does anyone think Cedar Fair would ever consider a wooden looping coaster (Outlaw Run) at one of the parks? I had no problem with Son of Beast, but I understand there were maintenance issues as was a lawsuit concerning the ride itself. With the advancement in technology and a few looping coasters that seem to be OK. I have not had the chance to ride a coaster like Outlaw Run or Hades 360. That being said, I cannot have a real opinion yet. (I know that the Gravity Group worked on Hades) Maybe only time will tell, if this new ride idea will really work and remain safe. Son
  8. I love that model. I wish that I could build something like that. I have little or no talent, when it comes to making a model from scratch, let alone a working model.
  9. Big Dipper, Camden Park (Huntington, WV) I am guessing that I was about 8 or 9 years old
  10. Love the topic. What is the oldest and still operating ride at Kings Island? Part two, Not a ride brought over from Coney Island I really don't know and I did not do any research.
  11. I like the idea of the use of "The Bat" as a re theme for the attraction. The classic look of those fun coaster trains. Will it happen, maybe.....maybe not? We shall see
  12. I have not been on Gatekeeper, (restraints are rough?) Wild Eagle did not bother me, and are the restraints the same on Gatekeeper as W Eagle? If B&M have similar restraints to Raptor, these are not uncomfortable to me either Just asking.
  13. I have mentioned this in another post. Flat rides, How about Rotor, Bayern Kurve, Der Spinner Kegger.
  14. I personally see nothing wrong with The Voyage. Is it tearing up the track? I am not sure?? Is it a smooth coaster? NOPE!! That is the ride style that I like from time to time. That is why I would love to see a major steel coaster at Holiday World, so I can get a break between the wooden coasters at the park.
  15. I know that, sorry that I didn't state that in my last post. You know, they could take out the WindSeeker thingy (doesn't work well anyway) and put the Bayern Kurve in it's place
  16. This is my favorite flat ride of all time. I know this is not a coaster, but this is what my Uncle talked me into (forced) riding as a young child. Kings Island needs to buy one of these classic machines and put it at Coney Mall.
  17. Most games you have to warm up a bit. Like the 3 point challenge and maybe just get on a hot streak. My best friends son was told that he won too many times that day. That game was not the 3 pt challenge, but the 3 point shot that used to be by the foul shot game, where you get 3 balls (chances) and there is no timer. I also think the male macho image with their friends watching and sometimes taunting also plays into it. LOL The football toss game. I watched a few young males trying to throw like a NFL QB, with no luck or accuracy try and fail over and over. Then the old man (me) tossed
  18. My friend is attending Cedar Point on Friday 8/16 Does she need to by a Fastpass? Since school for Ohio is back in session. Where can she purchase discount tickets or get a coupon?
  19. Dollywood is getting WindSeeker from??? (which ever park is tired of theirs breaking down) Just kidding guys. I vote for another wooden coaster
  20. I remember Cloud 9. The name, but I do not recall the attraction at all
  21. Many childhood memories were made there. I remember when the cost of admission was ten cents. That was for parents that had smaller children (or grandparents) that did not want to ride. They could watch their own kids have fun on the attractions.. My school outing was always in late May and during the week, the cost to us was just a mere $5. You can hardly purchase a Pronto Pup and drink for that nowadays. I always had fun and rode The Big Dipper about a half dozen times. My record in my 8th grade year was 17 laps. Now gone, are the Turnpike (car ride) The skating rink, Spider, and now
  22. Most opinions are just that, an opinion. I like ALL coasters. Some more than others. I live, breathe (survive) roller coasters. Some people have commented they dislike a coaster, due to roughness. It does make a ride experience different, ie I have a few friends who think The Voyage at Holiday World is overrated (NOT ME IN A MILLION YEARS) It is a rougher coaster, but it doesn't make it a bad coaster. Coasters that I like, that have been known to be a rough ride. 1. Meanstreak 2. SOB (RIP) 3. The Legend I just love the whole experience of a coaster, whatever that might be.
  23. The new coaster looks amazing. Cannot wait for next summer. I will love and miss SOB, but I was always saddened attending the park, and seeing that massive structure sitting quietly. No more, with the cry of "THE Banshee"
