  1. I wonder if thats plausiable. Could they do that with a wooden coaster?

Well this may sound really dumb but The Voyage "was" planned to have a corkscrew. It was in a article written In German and I translated it to English. In this article here:

    http://www.coastersa...ge/voyage.shtml

Chad Miller was also an engineer for the fruitful cooperation, the best starting point, every inch of the wood (seemed) to celebrate dragon's normal. Even after the publication of the plans in the summer of 2005 the train at various sites was altered. Other characters have it but not make it into the crazy layout of The Voyage, "The looping figure still being considered - a corkscrew was - although not realized, but exceeded all our expectations Voyage," says Paula Werne.
  2. Yeah SOB is a ton more stable then it looks. Even if you take out sections of it's supports the track will most likely stay, maybe not safely but it probably would.

Have you ever looked at it close from AZ? I did the other day I was like wow looks like it was made from tooth picks..lol Kinda like a card house , breathe the wrong way and it topples.

I'm not even gonna bother commenting on that :P

  3. If they were to tear it down, I would love to see them replace with a coaster with the exact same layout, lol. but thats just me.

to me Son of Beast was never THAT rough to begin with, at least not as people make it out to be. I mean it's wood! of course it not gonna be super smooth.

Roughness is one of the main reasons wooden caster are still being made.  Thats the point of it.

If someone doesn't like it, they shouldn't get on.

I think people just want something to complain about and agree with.  It was the tallest wooden coaster, of curse it's gonna be rougher than normal.

Pretty soon, people are gonna start saying "Kingda is too fast!". Well of course it fast,  thats the point!. LOL

this post wasn't made to offend anyone, just saying how I feel.

I would love to see it re-opened though. Or at least give it a few "going-away runs ".

No roller coaster should feel as if your chest was imploding. No coaster should ever make it feel like your head is going to explode. Son of Beasts problem was never roughness...it was forces.

It was both the roughness and the forces. Son of Beast only pulled 4.5 G's there are a lot of steel coasters that pull almost 6 G's. Son of Beasts problems was how the rose bowl shaped, the previous premier trains weighed A LOT, the "newer" trains were modified big time to fit it's larger track gauge and that both just destroyed up the track. Not so sure if I remember but that rose bowl pulled almost no lats (not saying it didn't) turns with no lats do tear up the track. The roughness came from both the track and the forces.

i never said they went to roller coaster corp. of america first, stop putting words in my mouth.

i'd be shocked if they were the first ones that were asked, all i said was that for the right price they most likely would have done it.

did you ever think their price tag (either cci, or gci), wasn't in the parks budget. there is more that goes into a parks decision of who to have build something than whether or not the company wants to.

Again, when I'm trying to have a conversation, you turn it into a debate. Not new.

And you come in and start complaining about what he said and that makes the problem grow so either ignore it or PM him and talk about it there.  :)

  4. The Blue Streak is Conneaut Lake Park’s signature attraction, but only one of many treasures the 1892 Park offers.

Across from the Blue Streak sits the Tumble Bug, which holds the high distinction of being the OLDEST of only 2 remaining full-size rides of its kind still operating in the world.

CLP’s beloved Hotel Conneaut, built in 1903, overlooks PA’s largest natural lake. The lakefront veranda and recently refreshed Crystal Ballroom provide unmatched charm and beauty.

The reopening of the Blue Streak carries value beyond the thrills of its 77-ft. high, 2,900-ft. long structure. It signifies the preservation of a place where friends, fun, and family time are the priority.

Inspectors have surveyed the ride and a plan of restoration has been made to include repairs on the trains, tracks, and structure.

American Coaster Enthusiasts recognizes the Blue Streak as an ACE Rollercoaster Landmark; a designation reserved for rides of historic significance.

    Goals:

Raise funds to proceed with restoration

Replace timbers, realign track, restore trains

    Reopen coaster

Support local economy by attracting more visitors to the area.

  5. They all look like over rated rides to be honest. Except Maverick and Raptor but what do I know I haven't been.

We should start a new poll on favorite posts. This post is in the # 1 slot for me.

Why would this this be a favorite? I really wasn't suprised at all to find someone commented on my thoughts on Cedar Point's rides (even though I haven't been but I really don't care). There are lots other parks I would choose over CP. Sorry but I don't give a crap about a 17 second ride that launches you up and down a hill that is 400 feet tall or other record breaking rides that are there to break records. As for the rest of the park it doesn't look that special. There are many more unique rides out there. The park looks mediocore in my opinion. I rather spend my time on more unique rides and a park that's clean and not over populated. Rides like these look interesting:

Rides like these are over rated:

See how drawn out this is?

Launch up then down your done?

Cedar Point does look like a good park but it is WAY over hyped. They do have some sweet lookin rides but most of them are over rated. Much rather visit family owned parks like Holiday world, Kennywood, and Lake Compounce.

  6. I was on the Eiffel Tower today and I used one of the of things to zoom into things at the park (forget what there caled lol) and I noticed there were red pieces of metal from ledger to ledger on the track. I'm guessing if they are actually there they are used to keep the track at the width it's supposed to be at. So they are probably keeping care of it and checking on it every now and then.

  7. Do not have your first kiss at Kings Island. I am a hardcore lover of Kings Island, but Kings Island is not the place for romance in my opinion.

Not to Burst your Bubble but I see many kids from Kings in your Grade Kissing at KI.

I see it a lot. I don't really care if people do it but some go over the top with it.

  8. Are we saying this is a B&M based only on the track in that concept drawing or am I missing something? Because while the track says B&M the trains and restraints say Intamin.

Drawings, sketches, and etc. Are never final. You'll see MAJOR differences once real pictures are taken of the trains.
