  1. ^you know it would be kinda funny if she was a member on these forums.

and really the only question i can answer for you is the one about flat rides, i personally love Drop Tower and Delirium, and give the crypt a chance, i haven't got a chance to ride it with the new program, but you should still ride it.

she's not a member lol! but thanks for the advice! We may try crypt out..if it's up and running

  2. Hey Everyone,

So I've been to the park dozens of times...but I need to check up on a few things.

    How much is regular admission?

I'm bringing a girl with me that I'm plannin on asking her to be my girl, ya know haha, where would be the best place to ask her...I'm kinda thinking the Eiffel Tower but thats a bit cliche.

When should we go to BB?

What slides at BB are a must ride?

Which flat ride is a must ride for the two of us?

How much are lockers this year?

Where should we get the lockers?

Any other info that you'd like to give me, feel free to share!

If you're going to be there find me :)

obviously now we have something very similar---Diamondback....but Behemoth is an awesome ride! I encourage everyone to head up to Toronto and ride it! :)

Now that i think about it, i think canada's wonderland and six flags fiesta texas have the star shaped shishkamabober in the picture on page 6

Yes they do I rode the one at Canada's Wonderland this past year. While it is a fun ride it does take long to load it. The park also has a stand up version of Ski-Lab.

I do a trip report later on with pictures.

    Falls08465.jpg

This is one of the 3 flats I rode at Canada's Wonderland....I really liked it. I'm not one for these types of flats but it was fun!

  4. You never know x-base could become it's own section.I really think they will do something like Top Thrill Dragster because x-base seems like a off limits goverment area and something tall and fast would be perfect for that they could theme like Flight of Fear.

I do like the idea of an X-Base area....would like to see some ideas for how it'd work.

I'm not sure a TTD would work for KI.

  5. Hey guys

I was planning on leaving you a voice mail but I couldn't get to the website due to my anti-virus saying 'hey don't go there'.

    But anyway...

As for the monorail at Jungle Jims: To my knowledge there are 6 actual vehicles. You are right though, there is 1 for show with the silouttes in the windows and the rest are for transportation.

I just did some research and the monorail is open, runnin only 1 vehicle for operation. I believe they are not charging anyone to ride the monorail.

If anyone finds anymore information I'd be glad to hear any.

    -Good episode!

Great comment! Weird about the voicemail though. But rest assured that there is no virus on the site. It's perfectly safe to leave a voicemail.

EDIT: Dang Jordan you bet me!

I figured..but I tried to open it and all that showed up was an ad...so Idk if my anti-virus only let that come through...hmm...

    but yea no problem guys!

  7. Why?? Really?? I will tell you exactly why. I did NOT become a passholder to spend my day at the park being a babysitter or Security Officer, THATS why. I was under the impression that a day at an amusement park was supposed to be a good time, where one could relax and enjoy the rides/attractions without having to constantly deal with this type of incident. If you have read any portion of these boards since opening day, you will (hopefully) be able to see that this is not in any way an isolated incident. Why in God's name should I voluntarily subject myself to this type of garbage? You are totally correct in your one statement that the park did as much as they possibly could in this situation, hence my praise of GR and of Jeremy. However, until the statement "linejumpers will be removed from the line and possibly from the park" is changed to "linejumpers will have their butts tossed out of the park PERIOD with no exceptions" this will continue and will get worse, far worse... especially on DB. If the time comes when I hear reports from Friends that the park has taken an iron fist approach to this problem... I will consider returning to the park a positive experience.

So, Kings Island should hire 4-5 people to patrol a queue? That is what I've gotten from your posts. In order for Kings Island to completely take care of this problem (which most likely will never happen), they'll have to hire 4-5 people to walk the queues of every single ride.

While I agree that line jumping is a problem that's getting way too far out of hand, I believe that this thread defines the word "overreaction". Sure, the kid should've been ejected from the park and it's pretty sad that the people behind you did nothing about the problem, but one incident is no reason to claim that your entire day was ruined and leave the park.

Agreed, if you're going to pay to get into the park, shouldn't you stay in the park for more than an hour or two?

So, you went on a day where the chances of kids ages 10-15 are calling for 100% ....what do you expect? There's going to be lines on a Friday, especially when school coming to an end, and a trip to the park is an annual event for some schools. There's going to be lots of kids in lines until about 4PM.

    It's a Kings Island on a Friday...expect lines!

As for the line jumping, tell them no. 9/10 times they will have their friends come back behind you. Don't try to be physical and block them...say something! And why would you get out of line after waiting? Just to runnnn all the way over to guest relations to hope they'd kick him out right then and there? I don't think all that work would ammount to that.

This TR is going to be flamed to bits. If your chances of returning are zero, that's sad to hear.

Oh, and Kings Island is NOT a "Six Flags Ohio." That's an insult, dude.

I agree KI Man. Tell the people line jumping no...stand up dude. Anytime you run to Guest Relations as soon as you get jumped in line, the thing is that the people jumping you are 1) either already on the ride by the time you get there 2) already have been on the ride and now in line for another ride.

Stay in line tell the ride ops with another person in the line that the people in front of you jumped in line.

    Seriously...???...

No matter what a sign says,,, kids are kids. Many of them will intentionally break the rules. It's what they do. To them, it may even be worth getting kicked out of the park to not risk missing the social opportunity with their peer group. If some of them got kicked out, they would wear it as a badge of honor and soak in all the attention their group would give them. Their attempt to break out as individuals and self-actualize, as well as their attempt to fit into society and their peer group will drive their decision... Both motivations would be fueled. Not to mention group theory, and how empowered people in general can be when attempting to work with a group... I mean,,,, the Holocaust even... And those that perpetuated this, weren't teenagers.

Point of the matter,,,, line-jumping will ALWAYS be a problem. The park does enforce this, and when guests complain it is dealt with. The workers are instructed to respond when they notice these situations or there is a guest complaint.

If you can't emotionally deal with a bunch of teenagers being teenagers, I suggest you focus your leisure time somewhere other than theme parks. Maybe a library, retirement home shuffle board court, or chalet in the mountains where you could grow a very large beard and let woodland creatures live in it...

    1 word--agreed

  8. The lights in the picture look like chaser lights, which DB does not have. DB has service lights.

I personally think chasers look awesome on coaster, so I would like it. Vortex has them, by the way.

I know, I love the chaser lights on Vortex, could you see them being added to Diamondback?

Apparently I missed the service lights.

  9. So as I was looking through some of my pictures at Canada's Wonderland I looked at a picture I had of Behemoth. On the lift hill there were lights trailing the track until the crest. Those are the only lights on the ride except for in the station and in the queue.

    beehmoth.jpg

Do you think Kings Island's Diamondback should have these lights?

  10. While in line for The Beast, a kid asked his dad why there were so many pennies laying on top of the water spout thingy. The father told his son that they usually have a water fountain going there, and people toss their pennies into it.

At one point, there used to be a 'pond' like thing after the train leaves the station and goes around the curves to get to the lift hill. I saw a picture of it, I'll be lookin for it and post it once I find it.

In line for the Carousel I heard

    "Daddy, what's the swine flu."

"I'm not going to explain it now, here have some hand sanitizer."

haha kids are getting to caught up over things these days....

I agree...gotta love what parents feed their children. *Cough* 'Oh no little Billy, hurry up go wash your hands, if not you could get swine flu!' People get way too excited over that stuff

  11. Kings Dominion's looks awesome. Fire, water, on board audio that goes with the ride...and the crowd loves it as much as the riders!

That looks pretty awesome! I'd rather have a top spin like this outside than what the Crypt is now... it'd be sweet to put this over in Coney Mall where the open area is.

Read carefully...the comment was about the one at Kings Dominion...

Terpy, I absolutely love your comments.

But yea I haven't rode the Crypt yet this year...I wasn't a big TRTR fan...I'm not a fan of hanging upside down for a period of time. But I'll check out the Crypt when I head back there.

  12. while in line for Beast we met up with Stalkerchick ( rachel)

    may9thrideswarriorsweekend046.jpg[/img]

I've known Rachel for about two years now, we've taken many adventrues where pictures would be taken...that's the classic Rachel! :)

Glad you had a good time, I wish I could be there this weekend.

  13. So Kings Island today was a blast!! B)

I got to the park a little after 10, it seemed like all I could see was thousands of annoyinge teenagers with their schools for Music In The Parks day....wow...I wanted to slap a few of them not even being in the park for very long.

We obviously got stopped by the people in front of the fountains to get our picture taken! Woohoo!

As we completed that whole process we headed toward Vortex!! We got a little side-tracked and had a walk on to Adventure Express...it was a bit boring. It was a complete walk-on...sat in the very front and man was it smooth! The fresh paint looks really good!

We got off and went to FoF and that was pretty much a walk-on..a wait of maybe 5 minutes. However I was creeped out by this kid staring at me as I was in the train waiting to be shot off. The ride was so much fun, I forgot about how crazy it was inside the "fishbowl".

We headed toward Firehawk right afterwards...a wait of about 15 minutes. We got sent to the yellow train and were about in the middle of the train. Very smooth ride...I forgot about the barrel rolls at the end of the ride they rocked!

We then grabbed a quick bite to eat, went to The Beast!!! I was really excited to see how much nicer it rode. The helix's were great...I didn't want to kill any girls in the tunnles for screaming. The ride is generally about a 4 minute 50 second ride...it seemed like it lasted longer than that and I loved it.

We then headed to Diamondback!!!!!! We waited a max time of about 20 minutes...once we got seated we had a blast! We sat in the middle of the train, I sat on the far right side. The first hill was amazing! I loved not really sitting on the seat throughout the ride because of the airtime! The other hills were great! I couldn't get over how low DB goes and how close it is to the train tracks. The splash down part was cool, however I didn't really know we hit any water (obviously I knew about it but on the ride I didn't) until I felt a little mist. I was really really impressed with DB. On ride photos were great! The DB trading post was awesome as well.

We then wanted to grab a little snack...so we thought about stopping in the restaurant formerly known as Wings...I can't remember what it's new name is...oops. Unfortunately we didn't eat there because we're poor college students and can't afford $17 per person for a meal.

So we grabbed some fries and headed toward SoB. SoB was down so we went on Flight Deck. It was packed since SoB was down. In the lines I was a bit disappointed because of the whole area under the platform was sitting idle. The ride was great! I love swinging around the curves!

At this point we decided to go on The Racers and they were fun, we rode the blue train and won! Wish it would have went backwards though. Then we went back to DB. This time the three of us decided to do the single rider line....again another walk-on...and it was a blast.

We then headed to our Picnic Lunch and it was good...I was disappointed when we didn't have Chicken Tenders but loved the selection anyway. Then we headed around the park to just walk for a bit. Went to SoB...wow was it rough! The lift hill always makes me laugh because it's sooo loud! We then headed toward DB again, unfortunately at this point it wasn't running because the whole train getting stuck in the back. So we decided to wait for about an hour or so. It got very frustrating because of the Ride Ops and other Staff kept telling us it'd be worth our time to go ride other rides...we sat there for a while and then went to the stores. Then we saw the trains of DB being tested...so we headed over that way and rode in the single rider line again and it was amazing in the dark! I love the feel of DB at night! Then we headed home.

It was a great day at KI!!!

  14. So much for the characterization of this being a "major problem."

Diamondback was open again later in the evening, it was a lot of fun in the evening!

However, the ride ops and other ride workers were really annoying as they kept coming to me and others in the line saying that it was going to be a major delay and to go find another ride....more details in my trip report.

  15. For those who were riding yesterday, show off your on-ride photo here! If you didn't ride or get a photo yesterday, just show us a pic of you near DB or join up the thread later! :)

I have no clue who these girls are...yay single rider line!!!

  16. welcome to the site chris ;) glad i got you sucked in :)of course you need to hit cortex ;) but make sure you get a couple rides in on DB. and wait til its dark to go ride Beast... trust me

Thanks Rachel! B) You did get me sucked in ;) I will of course check out the Cortex...is that a new ride? hehe! Nah Vortex is one of my favorites so I'll be riding that!

Anyone know how the SoB is this year?

    What about FoF and Firehawk?

  17. Hey, I'm headed to KI on Saturday, I think it's also Music in The Parks day....should I be worried? I'm planning on being there from 10-close....unfortunately I do not have a gold pass and I'm coming with my school.

What ride should I hit up first?

I'm planning on hitting DB after I ride a few rides.

What are the must rides this season?

    Thanks for your help!

  18. So I bought my first ride on DBack ride photo (totally looked like Wolverine with my hair flown back). I opted for the choice to have my pic e-mailed to me for an extra couple bucks. But... I never got my picture e-mailed to me. They had my correct e-mail entered, but I didn't get it yet. Does it take awhile to come in, or is my Wolverine photo lost in the bowels of the internet forever?

Dude that sucks :( When exactly was the picture taken? Sometimes with pictures being sent over the internet it takes a little while for them to be sent. I'm guessing with DBack there is a high volume of pictures being sent to emails and that'd take them quite some time to get to all of the addresses. I'd guess it'd be in your email by tonight at the latest, hopefully.
