It's the only non-Roller Coaster Tycoon place in the world (at least that I know of) where one of those ridiculously long queue paths, built out of apparent necessity, actually exists!
It needs its own security guard, path sweeper, maintenance guy and person-in-a-panda-suit!
Hope I don't get picked up and dropped in the fountains, because I'll suddenly forget how to swim!

If necessary, they could just test it when the park is closed and then just transfer it off when the park is open.

Oh dear. This must mean they're tearing it down for a waterpark expansion!

I'd really like an RMC at KI.
It just has to be a new coaster that's not replacing any, especially any of the wooden variety.
Edit: Did Terpy write this? I saw a Paramount reference in that article

Yep... I've crawled through the hatchback to the drivers seat on a couple of occasions during holidays weekends at the park .....lmao!
I dont understand why I've beem blocked in from both sides, but apparently they wanted a closer spot and got it.....
This makes me glad to have a Subaru Outback hatchback.

Typical Internet Enthusiast: OMGBLUESTREAKRMCCONFIRMED!!!!!111
Pretty sure they're tearing it down and replacing it with another waterpark.
Note: This post is satire. It should not be taken seriously, and does not reflect the views, thoughts, opinions, or actions of KICentral, Kings Island, Cedar Point, or Cedar Fair, L.P.
Just in case a news organization reads this... Or Screamscape.

I think their motive is to remove all human interference with animals. While I do understand that, it's just not possible now. The least we can do is try to repair what we've done.
Wait, would that be the most we should do? I'm confused. Thanks, Terp.

I assume that even Geauga Lake was more packed than that on any given day in 2007...
Has this happened before? A park goes from being packed all the time to having barely any customers in just one summer?

Hope I'm tall enough to ride that pile of dirt and wood!

Thank goodness.
It's needed it for years.
Screamin' Swing needed the door?

I'm noticing that a very prominent user who typically makes great use of the "like" button is not doing so today in this thread.
Interpret that as you wish
He actually liked one post... It was mine saying that Don is extremely good at what he does.

If the Thunder Road trains are PTCs, then they cannot be run backwards to my understanding.

Now that I think about it, a new front gate and a complete overhaul of the fountains would be perfect.
I think all this Racer talk is just Don trying to get us worked up. He knows how we reacted to another park removing a similar coaster.

Don wins the internet today. Knowing him there is always something behind every post and angle, things are very thought out....
He's extremely good at what he does.

The New York Times Building is 617 miles away from Kings Island.
They published this article on 8/17.
If Kings Island adds 3 more coasters, it will have 17 roller coasters.
A giga coaster is a coaster that has a height between 300-399 feet.
Kings Island Giga Coaster in 2017 confirmed.
Half Life 3 also confirmed. Maybe they'll sell it in the giga's gift shop.

Considering the photo they used, Don's mentioning of all his rides on The Racer, and the 'rumblings' of 'two things' (not attractions) that have been there since opening and experienced by so many...
There are two trains on Racer. Both would need removed (replaced) if it gets RMC'ed...
You might be on to something here. Although there are actually 4 trains.
Maybe they're getting new trains for one side so they can bring back the Backwards Racer?
-
I don't want to speculate but if you look at Don's twitter: https://twitter.com/donhelbig/media
There's a clear pattern of Racer tweets this summer.
Everything's a clue. Nothing is a clue.
Not surprising, he loves The Racer.

So what attractions that aren't either Racer opened with the park?
All I can think of are Scrambler, Monster, Viking Fury, and the Grand Carousel. And I'm not even sure about Viking Fury. Not sure if Dodgems would count since it was originally in a different location and therefore technically it was a different ride, since it probably had a different configuration.
-
I am also hearing rumblings that two things that have been at the park since 1972 that virtually everybody has experienced will be removed to make way for something new.
NO. STOP THAT. PLEASE!

Sounds like it could be a new ride, or rides, then.
In 2009, we got Diamondback.
In 2010, we got Planet Snoopy.
In 2011, we got WindSeeker.
In 2014, we got Banshee.
In 2015, we got two new rides in Planet Snoopy.
Tomorrow we'll find out what 2016 will bring.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this announcement thanks to that camera angle.
Since WindSeeker, The Racer, and Action Theater are all in the middle, and since WindSeeker is probably not going anywhere since it's had no major problems so far, I'm kinda worried they're doing something to The Racer. However, I think they may be doing something with Action Theater and maybe DA. X-Base expansion with bathrooms?
Please let me dream.
Edit: Even Vortex is close enough to be included in this.

It has been a while since I have posted here. Both coasters are too important and iconic to alter or change, but I have been giving it some thought and made a choice. I honestly don't want either coaster to be Iron Horsed, but if I were to choose which coaster should get the Iron Horse conversion, I would choose The Beast.
The ride is still fun, however, over the years, instead of being like a creature prowling through the woods, picking up speed as it goes along, the coaster has been tamed. There are trim brakes on the first drop, second drop, and around one of the corners, in order to decrease maintenance costs, due to the heavy trains going around corners at high speeds3. It also has a great layout for one.
The Racer, on the other hand, played, at least in my mind, a bigger role in Kings Island's history as well as roller coaster history. Being the coaster that kickstarted the "second golden age" of roller coasters, most coasters, including The Beast, wouldn't be here had The Racer not been built. The layout of the ride isn't something that would make for an interesting Iron Horse coaster in my mind, as they tend to have twistier layouts, rather than out and back. The lead based paint on the structure is also a ruling factor as to why it shouldn't be converted. But the biggest reason why I feel that The Racer is too sacred to alter is because of what Coney Mall is supposed to resemble and represent. Coney Mall is meant to be a tribute to Cincinnati's beloved Coney Island, and The Racer pays tribute to The Shooting Star coaster, an icon to many Coney patrons. That isn't to say I wouldn't be okay with Topper Track in some areas, just not a full blown Iron Horse re-profile.
Those are just my thoughts, however I sincerely hope Cedar Fair doesn't do business with Rocky Mountain Construction.
The Beast is not any different than it was when it opened. Try riding at night, it seems much faster then.
