  1. I especially like the erratic arrangement of cars in the parking lot of GWL and PKI...apparently a lot of people like walking through the scenic parking lots!
  2. I'm the manager of SDATHC ride photo, and we have a running tab of all of our workers' scores. They average in the 1000-1999 range. That seems to be the typical score for guests, also...unless the ride stops (unless you get stuck in the fireplace room where the targets are nearly impossible to hit). My top score? 2160. My favorite times are when little kids beat their parents. It seems like no one compares scores until they are off the ride and looking at their pictures...so many shocked flooks on parents' faces when their kid kicks their butt!
  3. There were Christmas lights, tinsel and tinsel wreaths on SCATHC two days ago, but they magically disappeared the next day!
  4. On the topic of the so-called "power hours," I went to the park on one of my few days off to ride the rides (a rare RARE event) with a few of my friends. In the last hour of the park being open, we rode Face/Off, SDATHC, IJST and The Beast. The best crew was IJST, by far. They did what I have experienced on The Beast in the past...HOW WAS YOUR RIDE?!?! etc stuff...and, the take-off occurred extremely fast after we boarded...I was surprised. After IJST, we ran to The Beast for the last ride of the night. It was the best roller coaster experience of my life: fireworks to the left, lightning to the right, a slight drizzle mid-ride, fireworks throughout the whole ride...but the crew just wasn't feeling it (June 8, 2005). So maybe Italian Job can give The Beast crew a run for their money this season?
  5. How would a Scream haunted attraction work? A lot of ringing phones, and Neve Campbell running around (I'm sure the park could hire her...has she even worked since Scream 3?)?
  6. When I was in eighth grade, my friends and I had a fave line from FOF: "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease, 'Dick.'" "Alright, Dick."
  7. Hi, Welcome to Paramount's Kings Island. I need you to stop right there for a quick picture...1..2..3...OK, you can take this pink ticket right over there to Keyhole Photo at anytime after twelve. Have a great day here at the park.
  8. I think the Dora costume is one of the cooler ones at PKI, with the backpack's moving eyes. I mean, how can you beat that!?
  9. Actually, it's really scary.
  10. Disney shows are amazing. If anyone has seen Steps in Time in California, you'll know what I mean.
  11. "I can't think of another time when they've modified a ride to change the riders' experience. " -BoddaH What about changing the seats on FOF?
  12. Dane, you don't tell people through PMs.
  13. Dane, i find it funny that in your "Spelling and Grammer" post, GRAMMAR is spelled wrong.
  14. Eh...I heard you do it by Action Zone a few months ago. I felt like you were scolding us for stuff before we did it...
  15. No offense, but I definitely do not think PKI is "world class." It's on its way, but not yet.
  16. **NEWSFLASH** The Jeffrey Siebert ordeal has reached "stalker obsession" level. **NEWSFLASH**
  17. I can remember to when I used to go to the park and The Beast's line would be way back to the Eiffel Tower. This was 15 years after the ride was introduced, when most rides' lines go down after around 3 years. Why has the ride almost become walk-on? Is this a change in popularity, efficiency, or me just going to the park at different times?
  18. Vortex wouldn't be a bad place for line jumping if the fence was taken out. If you get out of SBSP3D and want to ride, its insane to go all the way around. People don't want to do that. It's just stupid.

    Tips?

As much fun as PKI is, if you're going to be in town for a week, you might want to check out some other things around the Mason/Kings area. The Beach Waterpark has a deal where if you print out tickets found on www.wkrq.com, you can get in from 5-9 PM for $1.02 on Friday night (and Friday night only). That's a great way to top off your trip, and to get into another theme park altogether for next to nothing! Also, the Friday crowd will be EXTREMELY large, due to it being Bring a Friend Free day (where all Gold passholders get to bring a friend free), if you find the park to be too crowded, you could maybe go to the putt-putt found on Kings Mills Road by the Kroger (I'm sure you'll explore the surrounding area). This is a good idea, especially a better alternative than waiting in line for hours, or sitting in your hotel room.
  20. From what I remember from last year, the park limit is 52,000 and they start recommending people to not come at 45,000.
  21. 1. Even 91.99 doesn't pay for itself in two visits, it's never been that high 2. It's 79.99 right now. 3. Where did you find that information?
  22. Yeah, Cabron. But the "stupid gimmick" worked, didn't it? It doesn't matter how you pack in the audiences, as long as you do...
  23. Maybe they could make it better by making it a Festival of Lights like at the Cincinnati Zoo...that would draw in more people. Looking at the brochure, it wasn't made for thrillseekers or ride-lovers, but more the family to get into the Christmas spirit.
  24. The free parking thing is well worth it, even if you don't drive (no long walks back to or from passenger pick-up!).
