  1. have they always had the street view from inside the park?
  2. Yeah I reported it for sure after the ride. Everyone around me was panicking as well. I guess they have some sort of safety device or something to re engage the locks or something at the top.
  3. I did think I was going to die once on Vortex. We were going up the lift hill when all the sudden my shoulder restraint popped up. This was in the days before seat belts. I kept pulling it down and it kept going back up! I have to admit I was scared and so were the people around me. As we got almost to the top it finally locked back down. It scared me for sure!
  4. I think I am leaning towards Cedar Point or Kennywood. However I never thought about Canada's wonderland. Only slightly over 8 hours. I don't want to sound ignorant, but I have never crossed the border into Canada. Is there much to it? Do I need a passport?
  5. I am going to call on all the experts out there to give me a little advise on what park to visit this summer? I am looking for something within an 8 hour drive. I have only visited a few other parks. Cedar Point in 1994, Kentucky Kingdom and Opryland. I would like to start going to another park like once a year. I love roller coasters and rides like Delirium but will not ride Drop Tower! LOL Anyway if you all could let me know where you recommend and why. Oh yeah, it would be just myself and my wife. Thanks!
  6. I didn't start going to KI until 1988 and I remember the pond being there.
  7. This thing makes me want to puke just watching the video, but I would love to ride it once!
  8. Anyone have any other old photos to add?
  9. Its the off season so I figured I would bring this back out for anyone who might have missed them this spring.
  10. Thanks for the questions! Below are Thursday's Top 5@5. Q: Damon Barnes - What made you decide to add midnight closings this year? I think they are great for teens and adults! A: Damon, the midnight closings were quite popular with our guests last year. It gives our guests an additional two hours for night rides on thrill rides such as The Beast, Diamondback, Vortex and Delirium. It's also a great deal for our guests that chose to visit the park after 5pm. --------------------------- Q: Tony Douglass - Is there a great possibility that by the end of this month we will know what the replacement will be, or have any sort of sneak peak of vehicle appearance, or lobby scenery? Who will Occupy the once great, Maestros booth? Or even the outdoor appearance? A: Tony, work has begun on our new dark ride experience. We'll be sharing the details concerning the ride very soon. ---------------------------- Q: Ryan Suhr - Regarding everyone's favorite ride, Son of Beast..... The Business Courier kind of took the park's GM, Greg Scheid, out of context in an article when he said that SOB was a no-go for 2010. Now whiotv.com is reporting that Son of Beast will in fact open at some point in 2010. Is that the official word as of now - that Son of Beast will open some ... See Moretime in 2010, or was this just another fluke? A: Ryan, the official word is the Son of Beast ride will not operate in 2010. It was announced this afternoon. ----------------------------- Q: Jackson Thurnquist - Is there any rough time schedule when we could expect to see the new Kings Island Website go public? A: Jackson, I don't have an exact date and time but what I can tell you is we would like to have it up by the time the park opens for weekend operation April 17. --------------------------- Q: Chris Hughes - What are some events this coming season that the park will be hosting besides the typcial Math and Science Days and Music in the Park Days? Also, what is the "private event" on the 18th of April? A: Chris, special events will continue to dot that KI operating calendar in 2010. Once again we'll host the UC football team in August, as well as the school's men's and women's basketball and soccer programs. We'll have the second annual Scout sleepover, and the Run KI event with 10k and 5k race will be back with a new race director that we're excited to be working with, Don Connelly. He's arguably the most respected race director in the country. The Sean Hannity Freedom Alliance Concert returns for a third year on August 7. There's also Spirit Song, a three-day Christian concert series, and the JoyFest gospel concert. In the spring we have our annual JDRF and A Kid Again 5k walks. We have a few things we're in the process of finalizing the details on.
  11. Here is a pic of The Beastie and the tunnel.
