  1. Thanks for the tips. Since my sister's youngest is just 3, and even my 6 year old has trouble sitting still for a while, I don't think we'll try the Eiffel Tower since I had heard from others also that you have to get there early. We'll probably try the other suggestion. Thanks!
  2. We are just about to work out the door to drive down to KI today, and will be in the park this evening. Your opinion - where is the best spot to stand for the best view of the fireworks? I did a quick search and didn't see this posted before. Thanks in advance for your help.
  3. Thank you to all of you that gave your input! I think we may just pay for the premium parking and skip the locker. Since we're going in Sunday evening for a little bit, that will also give me a chance to scope it out before spending all day there on Monday. I just put the last item into our bags for our Sunday departure. I'm like a little kid - in about 17 hours we'll be entering the park and I'm so excited! The last time I was there was summer of 2007. But I'm even more excited this year because my parents and my sister and her family are also going. The last time my sister and I were at KI with my parents was probably mid-80's. My sister hasn't been back since. We are planning on going Sunday evening, and both Monday and Tuesday also, visiting the water park for some of that time. OK...I need to push myself to get into bed so I can get some sleep before making the trip from Northern Indiana to KI...yeah!!!
  4. This will be my first time visiting KI and having to park at the parking lot (stayed at campgrounds years ago and the "resort" across the street in recent years, using the shuttle all times). Also, it will be my first time in recent years that I will be without a stroller as my youngest is now past that stage. The negative of that is no where to throw a bag of supplies I like to have on hand for my daughters. My question: Would it make more sense to pay the $5 extra for premium parking so we could run out to the car to retreive items, or to rent a locker to hold things? The items I would be taking are those that we wouldn't need often, maybe not at all. Since the heat is starting to decrease some, I'll probably also throw in a couple of sweatshirts for my daughters for night time, just in case. So the amount of times the backpack would be needed in a day: anywhere from 0 to 2 times. Second question - if we do pay for premium parking, does that work like the general lot in that if we do leave in the middle of the day, we can get back into that lot without having to pay again? We are planning on staying all day, but plans can change if my daughters start to drag. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  5. Thanks. I'm not a pass holder since we'll probably just be making 1 trip this summer to KI, and no trips to any other parks planned this year. As long as we can have re-entry that day for free, we should be set.
  6. Thank you for the replies. I did call KI to ask the price of the cabanas, if they were offering a reduced price if you arrived after 5 to add the night before our 2 day tickets, and also the parking question. After being put on hold 5 times by the time the operator was through the 2nd question, I decided to call back for the parking question. When I saw this forum, I thought I may have better luck. I'll probably call them again just to verify. The person I spoke with said she was new, and I'm sure they are still working out all of the answers for their customer service people. Hopefully I'll get a more knowledgeable operator next time. But thank you for your answers.
  7. Has anyone rented a cabana at Boomerang Bay? Where are they located? Was it a good experience? If it was up to me, I would skip this added expense. But my husband is not an amusement park fan, and tends to get a headache after too much sun exposure (although this never seems to happen when he's on the golf course!). Our plan is to go to KI on both 6/29 and 6/30, spending part of 6/30 at the water park. We will have our 11 and 6 year old daughter's with us. I'm just curious as to anyone's experience with these. Also, are you allowed to come and go from the parking lot without having to pay a parking fee more than once each day? I went with my parents to Kings Island from the age of 5 to about 16 every year, most of those years were at the old campground. As an adult, I've taken our daughters for the last 3 years, all of those while staying at the Kings Island Resort across the street. This will be the first year that I'm not staying someplace that offers a free shuttle, so will need to drive. We do not have season passes, so no discount there. I'm hoping that if we need a break or want some decent food out of the park, we won't have to pay the parking fee again. Does anyone know?
