  1. I really wish I could, but, I'll be doing well to make it ONCE to the park this season. I graduate in November as a RN, so I'm in the home stretch of classes (3 more semesters!) So, my weekends will be filled until at least October with clinical hour fulfillment. We didn't even renew our passes. Here's hoping we can make it Memorial Day or Labor Day weekend.
  2. My 2ยข probably doesn't amount to a hill of beans...but, every trip we have taken to KI over the past few years has been great, as far as employee/customer relations goes. Any time I've asked for water, I've been greeted with a smile. Ride ops always chit chat with my kids, especially if they know it's their first time on a large ride. Three particular interactions stick out in my mind: 1. We were getting ice cream in Planet Snoopy. My cone was a bit crooked. I did not complain, since it was going to be eaten pretty fast..what was the big deal? Well, the woman at the stand apologized profusely. I kept telling her it was ok. She gave us another large cone for free. No complaints were made from us, she just wanted everything to be 'just so'. That made the kids particularly happy. 2. We were having lunch once at Jukebox Diner. My kids had an oreo milkshake. My daughter accidentally knocked it over on herself. No less than FOUR employees from the diner came out with wet and dry rags to clean her off. I told them they did not have to do that, but they insisted. And they did so until no chocolate remained. They didn't want her clothes to stain. (My daughter STILL talks about how nice they were to her) 3. My husband and I were getting some Chick-Fil-A during Haunt. We waited 30 minutes for our food. The employees noticed us still standing there, then realized they had given our food to someone else. We received our food AND a refund. We just thought a fryer was down or something. Perhaps not making a stink helps, but the employees I have encountered have gone above and beyond to make sure we are happy. You do not see that at every park. This is one of many reasons why I love KI.
  3. There is a saying, "Don't sweat the small stuff...It's all small stuff" I have learned over the past few weeks to cherish every moment given. No need to spend it bickering. Enjoy what life has to offer, you never know when it can be yanked from underneath you. We all have our thoughts, opinions and concerns, but there is no need to berate others for theirs.
  4. :-/ Just saying. It was always there before, now it's not. Doesn't prove one thing or another.
  5. It is no longer listed on the Height Guide......
  6. You got it. My first and only trip there.
  7. My middle child taking her first, second and third (hehe) ride on Beast this summer...and her very first ride on Vortex, which was also her first looping coaster. She LOVED them. My oldest has yet to conquer them. Many memories were made by our family. First rides, seeing the huge smiles, hearing the screams, watching the little hands become brave and let go of the bar and reach for the sky......
  8. Trust me, I'm itching to get into my parents photo stash, but that ain't happening anytime soon lol. Around 1995, they bought me my own camera, so that is the ONLY reason these pics are in my possession
  9. .... Final pic without me REALLY digging through some more boxes...
  10. Here we go...I'll add the others to this post when I get them scanned Now...name that park (this should be super easy..btw, I have several pics of this park from 1996)
  11. The 95 pics were developed at Winn Dixie, who did not do the time stamp on the back. The Kodak developed pics are dated 1996 though.
  12. Quite possible, just weird it would be in my 95/96 album....I don't even have any from 94 or earlier, those would be with my parents. I'm scanning some now...I also found an old pic of Cincy....and I'm gonna give you all a pop quiz. Name that park Gimme a few.
  13. Looking through the 1995 album, I do have a picture of Skyflyer...anyone want me to scan it?
  14. Are you sure about it being 1995? Cause the shot below, Xtreme Skyflyer isn't present, and all sources I can find put its opening in 1995. Yep, my cousin went the year before my hubby and I began dating..we were celebrating the end of our sophomore year.
  15. Oh sure, you can come up with the years...but if you REALLY wanted to impress me you would be able to determine the actual date & time! Hahha, Sadly, I can. in 1995, it was the last week of June in 1996, June 16...(I only remember that date because it was the first time a certain someone kissed me....Yes, Kings Island was the beginning of our relationship) As for time, you got me there
  16. Some are from 1995, with my cousin (the only year she and I went) and some are from 1996..when I went with this guy who ended up asking me to marry him 6 months later
  17. Funny enough, one employee was correct during my trip at the beginning of August. I was on Zephyr with my daughter and near the end of the ride, he said "Enjoy the rest of your day at Kings Island. Soon to be home of the world's largest swing!......Juuuuuuuuuuuust kidding"
  18. I'm reinstalling my scanner software.....I found a picture of the mural for Top Gun (pre-Gillette)
  19. I was cleaning out a closet and found some pictures of Kings Island from 1996. Included are pics of Klingons, Quick Draw McGraw, Top Gun (with the full color scheme visible), full pictures of King Cobra and a few other rides that are now defunct (Flight Commander, anyone?)...Anyone interested in seeing them? I'll scan and load them this evening, if so.
  20. We were there in August on a nice rainy day. I thought the huge crowds would leave, but I thought wrong. Even more people came in. That was the day we had to wait over 45 minutes just to ride Scrambler. However, it was a fun (but painful) ride It rained pretty hard, but all of the rides continued to operate. Seems like we hit all the wrong days during our trips this year, as far as crowds go. Even the random Wednesday in July was jam-packed. We pretty much ended up going each and every time there were groups, companies or teams there.
