  1. Good point about the invalid tickets. I got discounted ones on Ebay, but there were also some unscrupulous sellers on there, as well. The free water thing is a big miss - they obviously weren't aware of this, and it can be a huge money saver.
  2. An interesting read, with much of the same information discussed on these boards. http://www.examiner.com/x-20457-Dayton-Fam...ngs-Island-trip
  3. The crowds thin out before closing? That's good to know, especially when they are open until 1am.
  4. In my experience; I haven't been able to do all haunts on one Saturday. Granted, we had 1 less hour before AND we rode some rides as well. But usually on Saturday nights, some Haunt lines are over an hour long and with so many haunts to do; it's really hard to get them all in. What's the probability of getting them all in on a Friday? That seems like the day to go.
  5. Gosh, the Haunt site is incredible - what a remarkable job! I'd love to go this year, but since I could only make KI on a Saturday, I'm worried about the crowds. Would the Saturday lines be so long that we wouldn't get to do all the haunts in one night? Doing Beast, etc., would be great, but I'd forego that to hit all the Halloween-specific activities instead.
  6. Yeah. I guess a Spidey coaster is a lot cooler than a Snoopy coaster. Plus Disney already has two dogs to deal with. (Btw, why is Goofy bipedal when Pluto walks on all-fours?) Regardless if this is official or not, I hope the Spongebob movie is gone soon. That chasing a pickle show is terrible.
  7. That actually makes a lot of sense. SOB already caused quite a stir, and I can see where waiting on this wouldn't be such a bad thing. I heard Disney wanted to buy Peanuts, too, but the suits there couldn't name half the characters.
  8. Don't know why KI is not making an announcement yet, but it appears inevitable. Perhaps they are waiting until after Labor Day. If Nick U. isn't going anywhere, it makes that premature web page very strange. Hard to to believe it was a typo.
  9. Have a great time, Ernie! I'll also be there on the 4th, making my first trip to KI in 5 years. There's some talk of showers that day, which may dissuade some from heading to the park. Still, I'm bracing for a huge crowd and will have a great time nonetheless. We don't have the benefit of ERT, but I'm hoping some careful pre-planning with the map will get us on everything. We'll be there the entire 14 hours the park is open Saturday, so it should be a blast.
  10. A friend of mind visiting the park today said the line for The Beast was the longest he's seen in years. He also wrote, "waited 90 mins for Adventure Express....WTF?". Hopefully it's not this crazy over the weekend.
  11. Sounds like it will be fun nonetheless. It's our first visit to KI in nearly 5 years, so we're looking forward to it. Hopefully the lines for WWC aren't crazy if we get one of these 90+ days.
  12. Hey all - are there assigned seats on the coasters (as in, being directed to a row), or can you pretty much sit wherever you want? The wife would like to try DB but really doesn't want to sit in the front. Just want to make sure she won't be forced to should it work out that way in line. Thanks.
  13. I'm planning to hit KI on the 4th and am curious to see what they mean by an "extended" fireworks show? I won't be happy if I drive 100 miles for an extra 5 minutes. One would think there will be other celebratory events going on that day, but like the OP pointed out, the KI site doesn't mention anything.
  14. Well, neither of us are huge coaster fanatics, although we'll try to get in rides on Beast, SOB, and a few others early in the morning before the afternoon crowds. Hopefully the less intense rides will see shorter lines. I know movie theaters are generally light because people are doing BBQ's with family, etc., so it'll be interesting to see what kind of turnout there is over Independence Day weekend.
  15. Hey all, long-time reader/first-time poster here. I was curious what kind of crowd you all would expect on July 4th? I know it falls on a Saturday, which is typically a busy day anyway. Add to that the extended fireworks show and midnight closing time, and I fear it will be wall-to-wall. Would certainly appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!
