  1. well, in my opinion, if paramount shelled out the money to have him to TV Commercials and endorsments, then i would bet they would just go ahead and sign him for at least one appearence at the parl (most probably opening day of BB). I'm willing to bet we'll see Hogan around the park on that day. Think about it though... if we dont, is it really that upsetting? I mean its Paul Hogan... lol... its not like we are missing out on Angelina Jolie (i thought the impersonater looked better anyway).... Guess we'll just have to wait till may.
  2. "There's also talk of a Hollywood-themed sign to replace the one that was blown down in a storm, as well as plans for sound effects and a video presentation. "We're giving it a Hollywood makeover," Siebert said" could this mean we may get our color LCD screen after all? ooooohh.... this article has me dooling! Cant wait for this season.... though i still dont even have my pass due to lack of funds! DOH'....
  3. Zone.... your wrong... lol PKD and PKI Shared several attractions before paramount bought the parks. PKD has / had the following clones of PKI rides (not sure which park had them first in any of these examples) Shockwave (same as King Cobra) Galaxie (same as Bavarian Beetle) White Water Canyon (fairly similar to ours) Tripple Spin (same as SR&R) Flying Eagles (same as ours) Sky Pilot (same as Flight Commander) Scrambler (same as ours) i'm sure there are several more, and some of those rides are common at nearly every park in the country so they dont really count as clones, but the fact remains... rides at PKI were commonly found at PKD long before paramount bought the parks....
  4. i'm all for it chef! sounds great to me
  5. weird! i was just coming back to the site today to start a thread on this exact same topic... i was wonderin bout it whil i was sittin in class today.... anyway, i havent been up 71 in a while, and i was just goin to ask if we got a new one yet... apparently not since we are still hopin! i'm with boddah on this one... 18ft LCD would be awesome!
  6. i kinda remember them.... i remember bein a kid and my parents not lettin me do them becuase they were an upcharge... werent they submarines? yellow submarines? anyone have pictures? they alwyas looked like sooo much fun!
  7. don juan, as a new poster to this site, please do not insult those of us who have been posting and discussing things like this for months now. i take offense to you calling any of the people on this site complete moron's. As for next coaster to go, as much as i hate to say it i think it will be Top Gun. Top Gun is a great coaster, but its popularity has decreased great ly over the years. Even though there is still ocassionally a line, its a rare occurence. With all the advacnes in coasters since that one was built (Inverts were still new, and Flyers have come up) i could honestly see them in the future pulling out our version of Top Gun and refreshing it with new theming and a totally new design. (a nice b&m flyer or invert) just my two cents... guess we'll just have to see what happens! :cowboy:
  8. i would hve to say the flyers.... i love those things! i could enjoy them in any weather! as for rides you could enjoy in this weather.... chef, it is not very often that i disagree with anything you say, however i remember being at season pass preview night for face-off when it opened, and i dont know how many people on these boards were there, but it was 30 degrees, and sleeting / snowing outside. they still managed to run face/off and all the other selected attractions that were supposed to be open for thsoe of us who braved the weather. i enjoyed them all!
  9. enchanged.... i mean enchanted voyage... ohhh how i loved that ride... i deffinetly miss the cobra as well...
  10. i have not seen spongebob, or any other action FX movie since the removal of bond... kind of like a boycot thing. my friends and i were so angered by the removal of 007, we swore not to go back in the building... lol bond truly was an amazing sim film. almost as good as days of thunder (one of my fav movies) i thought it was very enterteaining, and i cannot see anything ever being near as good! just my two cents... :cowboy:
  11. rotation... view... we get to see the entire park, while pkd you are stuck in one spot the whole rdie to the top.... i think that the rotation gives a lot to the ride experience. while i have never ridden pkd's, i just dont think it can give the same ride as ours here at pki. :cowboy:
  12. i'm feeling the same way boddah! it will either be The Vortex, or Shake Rattle & Roll for me... havnet decided which yet, i guess only time will tell!
  13. matrix is a WB movie... not paramount
  14. oooo.... 6 friday nights, open till midnight... every friday in june and the first two in july... not to mention 4th of july weekend! gotta love those midnight closings... i like it! :cowboy:
  15. phew... as i wipe the sweat off my forehead.... i would sure hate to see snapping go! :cowboy:
  16. I agree with everything except your last sentence. The Beast and Racers are by no means boring. I could ride either one of them over and over again, I love wood coasters... :cowboy:
  17. i have not heard this... and i sure hope that it is just another nasty rumor! i like to think i'm pretty good with the flyers, and snapping really adds to the experience! i would hate to not be able to snap anymore! I have never heard of any accidents where cables have snapped on rides like the flyers, however i can see wehre the danger is, and how extensive damage could occur to the cables so i could see this happening. It has never seemd to be a problem before... i guess we'll just have to wait till 04 to find out! i'm sure they would have a big sign warning us.... :cowboy:
  18. wickedly awesome! Its amazing what some people can do with those coaster kits! If only they werent so expensive... i might get to try my luck with one! Being a broke college student sucks! lol :cowboy:
  19. i can only hope this masterpiece, and historical ride has found a new home... however with parts and maintnence becoming a real hassle for these togo standup coasters, we may just have to face the fact that the cobra is no more... i hope for the best, but fear the worst! :cowboy:
  20. i agree with coasterguy.... SOB is an incredible ride. this past season i felt that i was running hte best it ever has. there is lots of thrills with this rides, and i deffinetly love the head / hand chopper effects.... adds to the experience and makes SOB even better! SOB does not bother me!
  21. kate, Currently pictures of BB construction are posted on the photos site of this page. here is the link. http://www.pki-central.com/photo/boomerangbeach.htm not much yet, just lots of prelim work. painting, and some vertical construction of the funnel structure for the tazmanian typhoon. makes me droool! Note.... hey dane or dan, i'm lookin at the link i just posted right now, and why is the domain in the title bar "boomerangbeach.htm" instead of boomerang bay... any reason? :cowboy:
  22. turtle, GAME ON was the name of the show.. and it was awesome! it was around for 2 seasons maybe? from what i heard they took it out because it was very expensive. giving away big expensive prizes like TV's and such every day was getting quite costly. they used to roll a big colored dice to decide which group of the audience got to play. i always sat in the red section. one time i got to play the childs version where they just ask you a question. i answered right and got a free ice cream at the "sweet shop" by The Racer. ohhh how i miss GAME ON....
  23. capn, new track building technique? what exactly do you mean, and how will it be used on SOB?
  24. roller coaster: tie between Vortex and top gun. both are very exciting rides. Vortex for its first drop and inversions, while i like top gun because of the constant swinging back and forth and its speed through the turn by SOB... flat: Shake Rattle & Roll... i will never beable to get enough of that ride! constant thrill!
  25. chef, Couch (not sure of his first name) who owns the park, also owns the land adjacent to the park, and has for years. it has been his RV Dealership. He bought the park and ran it for a year or so, but when it showed signs of success broke off his parnership becuase some beleive he does not want the park to succeed. he just wants the l and the park is on to expand his RV business. I think what Rickster is trying to say, is that if the general public or enthusiasts found out that he was trying to make the park fail, only to gain the land for his business, they would gladyl take their business elsewhere... i know i would! :bike: P.S.... i like the new smiley's!
