Sheet 3 of the attached has the coordinates. The "Top of Pier (Ft.)" column is where I pulled the values from. The values are assumed to be at ground level at that particular pier.

    @XBeastGirlX Great comparison!
Speaking of pictures... As soon as the first public riders are on this new coaster, would you all like me to upload every aerial photo I took? All the way from Firehawk being torn down, to a public train on the coaster. Kinda in a timeline type.
  3. Thanks

Here is a comparison of April thru now. First photo credit goes to IndyGuy and second photo is mine. Ravine is definitely being made deeper than it originally was

I was at the park for a few hours today and spent a lot of time on the Eiffel Tower. It was very crowded today. I had to leave at like 3:30 since today is my birthday and we were going out for dinner. But here is the picture I got of the site from the tower. I could see a lot of action and workers working down there.

I think you're referring to how they use the variable frequency drive- it slows you down at the top of the lift so you can hear "Don't... go in... the shed..." then speeds back up to send the train over the lift. I think it's that action of speeding up so quickly that makes you feel like you are being flung over the top.

EDIT: To answer the question, yes. B&M uses ABB DC motors on their lifts, coupled with a DC Drive. You can really notice it traveling up Banshee's lift, if the previous train has not cleared the block yet, the lift will slow down until the train is safely in the brakes.

It didn't operate today. In fact, the train on the lift is still there at last report. Considering today's inclement weather, sending that one might have left them with another train to remove via crane.
They did get the valleyed train off the course. (Photo credit: Brett)

I’m definitely a member of the camp in which I don’t care about the stats as long as it is a great ride experience.

I can also say that my experience has been if they are assigning rows, if you ask for one you’ll typically it.

My planet coaster recreation was a little over 5400 feet, and several of the recreations have pegged it between 5200-5500 feet. So somewhere in that range.

The $6M purchase price says a lot about the value of the Kansas City park. Perhaps we'll see some of its slides distributed to other Cedar Fair parks if they pursue that option.

Well, that was unexpected. I'm really glad to see Cedar Fair add destination waterparks, in any case. Hopefully we'll also see good things at the existing Cedar Fair waterparks.
What does everyone think about whether they'll keep the Schlitterbahn name at the Texas parks? It's very iconic there, but its association with the Kansas City, KS park could be a factor after the 2016 accident.
I also have to wonder how season passes will work; the current price of a "platinum" pass good at both Texas waterparks is higher than the current price of a Cedar Fair platinum pass ($275 vs $220).

As someone who suffers from social anxiety, I understand that discomfort. But really, I've never minded. Most people, I've found, just keep to themselves. Those who are chatty usually have something fun to say; I've learned they're often the enthusiasts and they love to talk about the ride.
I think being paired with kids is uncomfortable, mostly because it's like "am I responsible for this kid if his restraint breaks and he flies out?" But really, I've learned most the time the discomfort is my own and I just need to relax.

I’d think so, good thing sensors are in place to make sure 2 trains will never be on the track at the same time. I heard it poured rain on them too

GateKeeper is one of the first coasters to shut down for high winds, but sudden gusts are hard to predict on the lake. Hopefully there were no nervous riders on board.
Maintenance will have a long night.

Last time this happened (that I know of) was during initial testing before it opened. They needed to take the train apart with a crane. Let’s hope that’s not the case here.

This is what I think too. After seeing it in person, they aren't widening it by THAT much so far. Maybe 5-10 feet wider down the bulk of the length. I honestly don't think we would have noticed if it weren't for the actual trees laying in the clearing

My guess is now that they have the station footers drilled, they were able to physically look down the line and noticed the trees were too close to the eventual track location and needed cut back. The plans would show flats if they were going to be any. If that was the plan, they probably wouldn't have the station where its at blocking off expansion areas.

Pretty sure it won't be another coaster. They are already getting an intamin multi launch for 2020, to get a 355ft tall giga the year after would be a HUGE investment.
