  1. My only worry is that they build up all this anticipation for this new ride, and it turns out nothing that special.
  2. They also changed their logo to question marks and a circle that says CP 1870. (The year CP opened) Let the clue hunt begin... Funny that every single person on that post is saying" Stratosaur! Huge star flyer!"
  3. 1:Millenium Force 2:Diamondback 3:SOB opening year 4:Top Thrill Dragster 5:Flight of Fear
  4. Done riding Diamondback for the season. Can't wait until next year!

  5. I really like the remix at the State Fair, have not been this year, but the last couple of years it has been the best ride there. And is that Drop Tower ride still there? That scared the crap out of me because you could hear it rattle a bit on the way up.
  6. I don't really get how five were sent to the medical hospital. It said it came to a stop, but did not specify the time they were up there. If it was only for a little bit, the only things I can think of is hypothermia while sitting on the train, but you would think they would evacuate them quicker than that.
  7. If you want the public to stop being scared of SOB (which many seem to be after the incidents) it's not the brightest idea to turn the station into Haunt. It would be cool though if they themed it after an abandoned park...
  8. Thanks Captain Nemo! And yes, it was very bittersweet. While we now have Diamondback and Firehawk, we lost SOB and it's loop, which for a time was my favorite coaster. Then we lost the backwards racer, which also for a time was my favorite coaster and the only one I would ride outside HB because I hated the wind in my face on the drop. The TR:TR intro brought back memories. That was also one of the best rides in the park when it opened.
  9. Was the clearing any different from the pictures posted on here a week or two ago?
  10. I don't even get Wildebeest, its a fun ride, but top 5 in the US?
  11. Gary's ride stat was probably wrong because he didn't just write the story yesterday. And it said Diamondback is stadium style seating with an unobstructed view. I dont know about you guys, but most stadiums i have been to have seats behind each other and different heights...
  12. We just need a new slide in BB. Not something really fancy, just a new slide.
  13. Coney Mall. You get some flats and 4 great coasters My three would be: Diamondback Flight of Fear Adventure Express I was thinking about The Beast, but if I only rode those three rides over and over, my day would be shortened by The Beast.
  14. "SMALL" WOODEN COASTER (Woodies under 90ft) Racer -Classic MILLENNIUM WOODIES (Both opened in 2000, both have "dips" before first drop!) Son of Beast -Son of Beast in the year 2000 was much better than legend, not things have changed... SIGNATURE WOODIES (This one is obvious...) Voyage -My number 1 woodie. DROP/LAUNCH RIDE Drop Tower -Taller and faster. I like drops more than launches. RAPIDS RIDE White Water Canyon -Its in the middle of the woods with nothing around, gives more of a wilderness feel. LOG FLUME Race for Your Life, Charlie Brown -I like frightful falls, but once again, It was ruined by Legend, the whole thing seems to be just around a coaster with little trees. SWING RIDE Hallowswings -Better ride SPIDER/MONSTER/ETC RIDE Cant vote, havn't ridden both SCRAMBLER BATTLE ^ CAROUSEL BATTLE Grand Carousel -Its old and with carousels, the older the better, TRAIN BATTLE KI & Miami Valley Railroad SHOOT-EM-UP DARK RIDES Gobbler Getaway -Boo Blasters is still scooby cardboard, with those loud buzzing sounds. DODEMS Have not ridden both. STAFF (Overall Performance, includes friendliness and efficency) HW Staff PARK "LOOKS" (Which one looks better? As in scenery, theming, cleanliness, etc etc.) Kings Island -Best park entrance around. VALUE (Get-in-price, food prices, etc etc...) Equal -A discounted KI ticket and just lunch is about equal to a Holiday World ticket and food. Of course you get the unlimited soft drinks at HW. OVERALL 9 KI and 5 HW. -I would say KI wins, but some topics were not covered, and none of it mentioned the waterpark, the better half of Holiday World. They have the best waterpark, best slide, best food, and best unlimited soft drinks. So I say tie.
  15. You have to wonder if people even think about the consequences before they do something like this...
  16. From the picture of the Star Flyer in Vienna, its 12 cars of 2 people. That just seems too little for Cedar Point. It has to take awhile to load and unload and rise up there. Then the ride, with only 24 people. Maybe CF will make a larger one with more capacity, but I for some reason I don't see a large star flyer, maybe a kids ride that is smaller, fitting with the stratasaur name.
  17. ^Broken Link Its terrible that somebody would do this, but you have to feel sorry for the guy who dropped her. Imagine seeing her smile as she falls and you realize the safety isn't up yet. Then now knowing you might have paralyzed an innocent girl.
  18. Some friends and I got half the train to sing take me out to the ball game on The Beasts Lift Hill.
  19. Holiday World claims to be the nation's first theme park, yet Knott's was open 6 years before and considered itself the first theme park. Good TR though, looks like you had a good time.
  20. I hope Son of Beast will open next year. Dbfan, trying to get back on topic...
  21. Good for her. I always try to get coaster "noobies" on Diamondback first, because like you said, when they like Diamondback, they are willing to ride anything. I don't suggest a Beast ride though, she may not want to ride coasters again after it.

    Holiday World

I did ride it in the morning because I really wanted to get to the waterpark. I was extremely hot already, and decided to ride Raven while I was by Legend before heading to the Water Park for the rest of the day.

    Holiday World

Yes, but Holiday World doesn't just add small rides each year, they are adding very large rides. Its hard to be a small park like Holiday World and keep up with the crowds that are coming from these new rides.

    Holiday World

Does Holiday World really know their direction? If you are saying small family park, then why are they building huge attractions almost annually? At this pace, in 10 years Holiday World won't be that small family oriented park.
