  1. so does the tix money go to support anything other than the inside of CF pockets? I have never been to a pride day but always wondered about it......... plus I didnt know it was open to straight people........ so I just sort of assumed I was not invited....
  2. you know why you didnt like The Beast.... you didnt grow up on it. I think for people who go to the park The Beast is the ride that is your first step to adult roller coasters, or at least it was in the 90s. Sure you had Vortex but before you rode a steel coaster with a loop you had to handle the "sharp" first hill of beast. I think this is why so many people have so many positive memories of the coaster. Plus the fact that it is so long for its time may be a reason the older KI people love it. To be truthful The Beast is much better at night too bad you couldnt ride it at night... but glad you enjoyed your day
  3. I got yellled at once on the tower for sneezing...... I had a continous sneeze , like 4 or 5 in a row, i covered my mouth the first 3 times but I some how hit my head and sneezed again and the lady who was up there said something like why were spitting off the railing... I was like ummmmm I was sneezing...... after a few moments she understood but they do take it semi serious..... this was about 3 or four years ago.... the yr before college so maybe 2004..... ok or 5 years now ... wow im old
  4. As a working member of the Media (Not in Cincy) its important that the difference between personal opinion and fact be stated. But then again if a media member only uses one site for his or her "fact" checking they deserve the punishment and what else that comes for reporting rumors
  5. you forgot hip hip hurrah..... but why does it fail it allows people an opportunity to discuss the options of having a ride open.....
  6. to be truthful I really hope that when it comes to safety and money issues the planners do not think "how will the skyline now look?" Even though I must say it is very impressive when driving south on 71..... but the thought process has to be at this point how much will it cost to keep the ride open and fixing (or major overhaul) every 4-5 years and would it be cheaper to build a ride that operate more often for a cheaper price........ Side note does anyone know for sure that the wood would be unusable after (if they would) tear it down? It can not be used anywhere else?
  7. maybe they are afraid of future speculation.... sort of like well they think we may reopen it so lets let people think "hey it may open" versus people going "oh C*** its closed for tthe season that means its done for start the bonfire...." but then again people are already doing both soooo..... maybe they think that by not announcing it people will keep coming to the park hoping it is open..... who knows... And Side note I just heard gangstas paradise being played during sunday night football talking about people in the Football Hall of Fame.... now back on topic....
  8. I just wanted to make sure I was not crazy...
  9. is it just me or did the original thread disappear?
  10. Well I would have to think the massive size difference has alot to do with the time difference between the coasters. Plus it could be that CF has decided they need to find a way to "fix/change/alter/etc" SOB before they reopen it while FH was much easier to check and since it has no previous incidents it was easier to clear. Sort of if you get pulled over for speeding, and you have no other tickets or record you may get off with a warning where if you have multiple tickets you may get a larger ticket and have your car impounded..... (Just an example)
  11. mrsteele glad you brought this up. The ride may just be down for the rest of the season and we will not know anything new until next season. The difference between Firehawk and sob was a man maybe died because of outside reasons and not the ride
  12. My bad on the double post but a test on KI history I would fail since I am only 23 and only know from personal history about the park. However a common sense test would not be so bad
  13. its also society, everything works well in a small test, when everyone agrees on a certain topic. The problem arrises when more and more people join and other ideas or perspectives are thrown into the mix. The extra ideas are not bad but what is bad is when people can not understand why others would disagree wiith other people. For example I may not like drop zone but someone may take offense and try to bash me for my lack of enthusiasm for rides or something else. I am proud to say I am new to this site and am veryy happy to be able to discuss things on here and try (key word here is to try) and not revert to the LCD (lowest common denominator) in discussions that turn ugly.....
  14. "The lap restraint will follow your lap down into the elevated, reclined seat, so that even if you're small framed, you won't slip out -- well you could, but it would take multiple fractures of both your femurs to do it, and that's not likely to happen on this ride." Dude that made me laugh and think at the same time that it was a DB comment.....
  15. right thats why I was saying I dont remember what it looked like. Congo Falls was over there and King Cobra's que i thought was where deleriums que line is at sort of. And of course Top Guns line ran all the way down but ... what else was there
  16. HTCO what you are missing is the fun factor. There is no reason to stay over there. If you walk through river town you have a bunch of rides and restaurants on either side along with a little atmoshphere and games. Over in Coney Mall you have the games in the middle of the "midway" along with the sounds of the games and many restaurants. IMHO the problem with Action Zone is it feels like a big circle and you rush in do those rides then go and enjoy the rest of the park. For example why would you eat over there when you could walk down the mid way or head over to Octoberfest. Top Gun is so far back there is nothing to watch, and SOB all you can see is the main hill. You do get to watch Invertigo and Drop Tower but not like over by Vortex (I assume you can see plent of DB have yet to make a trip this year I will be going in Sept) and over in Coney Mall you can watch The Racer roll on. Action Zone was nice to sit and visit when they did the stunt show over there. But to be truthful there is not much going on over there to watch. (Not an insult to the rides) plus I believe there is one store over there where everywhere else there are multiple stores in an area....
  17. is it bad i miss King Cobra in the Action Zone...... BTW does anyone have any photos of the Action Zone before SOB was built? But after the Safari Thing ended. I can not remember what it looked like.
  18. wow great info again terpy... but with out seat belts we would hear more people being tossed out of the ride...... but scary thought just thinking about the boat ride capsizing..... and i know im one of those people who try to get the boat to dip hitting the waves.....
  19. yea on WWC, if its a little chilly I would avoid this ride, because i can never get off that ride with out getting soaked...... but hey if its a warm to hot day WWC is a blast
  20. the mayans predicted SOB would fail in 2012... I feel that is the main prediction of there 2012 prophecy
  21. what sort of ride was it? are we talking whitewater canyon ride here? BTW how deep is the water in WWC?
  22. I agree with The Beast, should be one of the first rides you ride. If you have ridden the clone rides before stay away from FOF if the line is outside the building, because it will be shorter later in the evening. Adventure Express is a fun ride that you usually can walk onto. Along with the Eiffel Tower, if you have the time take a trip up it is cool to see all the way around the park, like someone said before its sort of similar to the fountains, you forget how cool it is up there.
  23. well terpy lets not forget that paramount did make the GI Joe movie.....
