  1. Right wrong or indifferent this sheds a bad light on the entire industry. Also a good reminder that if you have young ones with you, ensure they are strapped in safely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Was Skylab the tube ride? Like you were ina tube on a Ferris wheel? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. My immediate reaction to this has to be racer. Just the competition part, looking out to see dueling tracks, etc…. If I over think it I could probably come up with better ones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. For sure. Let’s not forget that the recent history of putting up rides seems to be “clear cut the forest” type of mentality. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Why is this? Is it a space thing where KD has more? I was 7 when it closed. I have seen photos of me in front of the thing but sadly I do not remember it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Since I work in the medical field, and sometimes work with COVID patient? Which lane do I stay in? But I also like theme parks…. But I don’t want to pay for Fast Lane… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. There is a fear that a live person says just the wrong wording. If CP says “we vow to increase maintenance” then a lawyer may make it look like CP wasn’t doing it enough. If CP says we feel terrible for her family and her rehab a lawyer may try to get CP to pay for long term care . If CP says this was preventable…. You see what I’m getting at. A well crafted letter from lawyers says nothing that could place blame. As sad as it all is, I’d wager that CF will try and say that by buying a ticket we all assume responsibility for any accident that may happen and hurt us while her family will probably ask for medical bills and future needs. Also I’m not a lawyer just know a few. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. We’ve spoken about it on this site for years. You can control lines and crowds one of two ways. 1: limit the number or 2: increase the price. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I mean what does CP do? Come out and say “yup it looks like a bolt came loose and that caused true metal object to hit the guest” Then in court the other side can say “if they had taken care of the ride…” No matter what CP says or does it can be used against them. Doesn’t make it right. It just means they don’t want to lose the lawsuit….. but I do agree that the media should continue to keep this in the news every day until we get answers. 10. There once was a man watching television when the news said everyone get out of town the whole town will be flooded. The man thought God will protect me. A sheriff came over and when the water was up to the porch and told the man “we have to go, my suv will get us out of here”. The man said “thank you but God will protect me and save me.” The water rose and the man had to move to his second floor. A kind Samaritan came by and said “sir come with my I have a boat we can get out of here.” The man said “thank you but got will protect me and save me.” The water rose again, this time to the roof the man did go. A helicopter came by and the pilot said “sir grab the ladder we are here to rescue you.” The man said “thank you but God will protect me and same me.” The water continued to rise and the man died. He gets to heaven and demands an audience with God. He gets it and asks God why didn’t he protect him and save him. God said I tried to save you four times. I told the newscasters to warn you, I sent the sheriff to save you, I sent the Samaritan and his boat to save you, and I helped the helicopter pilot find you. So why did you ignore my rescue attempts…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Again it’s early so forgive me…. But yes I need to go back and re-read the report but I don’t think she identified the patient other than female? (It didn’t read to me that she said “I came across an unresponsive 30-35 year old female with brown hair unconscious…”) This is such a unique situation that it doesn’t matter, that person will be easily identified. Heck anyone being interviewed can be linked back to the pt (there was another nurse on site). Again I agree that what she did was unethical and probably immoral of a nurse to release the info so soon, but I’m not sure it violates hipaa (I feel even stronger having now read it). Then again I’m not a lawyer and I’m just a therapist so who knows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Not that I want to wade back into this… Having finally read the report I got nothing more than what I read in most case studies I do for CEUs each year. If her name is never released to the public, then there is almost no way to identify who the person was (unless I missed something major in the report—I’m tired and it’s early). 13. Working in healthcare and seeing my patients die…. Yeah I don’t care if people feel ashamed for not getting the vaccine…. Also you’re right… they don’t have to get the vaccine but businesses don’t have to let them in. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I don’t know how to shorten what I’m quoting on mobile… sorry… I don’t disagree about it being immoral and unethical…. But I’m not sure it’s illegal. You said you teach this to new med professionals so I’ll pass to your judgment here. But as a practicing clinician I’m not quite sure due to circumstance. This (as you said before) will be an interesting open discussion in medical fields going forward. Like if she was at the hospital and she came out saying the same stuff then I agree about the illegalness of it. However…. This was such a “public” event. I’m not sure. I mean there’s also the part that this is a big trauma. So part of me thinks she doesn’t know how to handle this and the lime light of it. If she’s not typically a trauma care person and the added stress adrenaline and not knowing how to calm down from it…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. 16. That’s the part that makes me laugh the most. These people are like I don’t want science experimenting on me…. Well we’re finding out the death ratio of unvaccinated versus vaccinated Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. So we were taught with hipaa it’s medically identifying information Name Date Soc security Telephone Address Medical record numbers Photos Bio metric identifiers Etc I have not been able to find the report but if she didn’t give any of this info it does not seem like a hipaa violation…. Maybe over sharing but not hipaa Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I mean yeah if you have the resources to run double and triple blind studies against control groups then yeah do your own research. Heck I applaud you if you’re doing your own research. Other than that, then I’ll trust the scientists doing peer reviewed studies around the globe. And yes we made need a third booster. Doesn’t mean the science is bad. It means science is changing. What does this all mean for parks? Who knows. But if a park says mask up or don’t go… that’s up to you to decide. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. The issue with “had COVID don’t need the vaccine” is yes most research points to that in the short term (less than about 200 days) you are good. After that the vaccine shows longer ability to remain in the body to fight off future exposures. Hence the reason we are looking at boosters as the virus mutates we may need more boosters etc. The issue with 50% of the pop not taking the vaccine they are exposing those that can’t take it, are vulnerable, or the ones the vaccine doesn’t work for. So then they’re decision to not vaccinate exposed others who might not be able to (unless they mask but they usually don’t) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Well ya know…. Tomatoes tomahtos Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I don’t disagree with this completely but just want to add… the theming does add something to the rides for the kids. I’ve seen my middle kid have to ride things with snoopy because he loves the peanuts movie and the has a stuffed snoopy. (Very similar to the way he and my oldest react at Disney seeing themed rides - we need to ride dumbo or Nemo or etc). However my oldest (8) gets nothing out of the current PS theming as he never really liked the peanuts ride. However if there was a teen Titans go or Ben 10 ride….. Also as a parent to a fresh third kid (10 months)….. I’m looking forward to the day where all 3 kids can walk into the park and enjoy rides…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Which is something that shouldn’t happen with proper management or leadership. The little things can add up. Yes maybe they were taking a shortcut and didn’t want to go get the right test dummies. But … if you can’t take the time/energy/money to use the right testing then what else are they or are they not short cutting? Maybe it seems I’m blowing this up more than it should be but usually in a company if you short cut one thing, there’s a culture of short cutting a lot of things…. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. The park has many holes and it really depends on which demographic are they trying to bring to the park. Show me the low impact rides that KI has that brings grandma and grandpa to the park to spend money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. No that’s fair and what a weird comment chain for me to break my current lurker status for. (Us old timers....). No I think you’re right. It’s for sure a factor but I’m not sure it’s the driving force and if there is a decline in parks in the future I don’t think an unattended minor rule will be a driving force either. Too many variables to make anything make sense!! Aaaa! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I think comparing malls and parks are a bit unfair. Malls were also hit by the rise of online shopping and the increased popularity of outdoor malls. Plus many anchors going bankrupt hurt as well. I personally don’t see a youth policy being hurtful to the parks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
