  1. If there was any truth to it... why would a park ship a working ride to another park and then Replace the ride with an exact copy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Maybe they’ll fix the fest house clock and add back some trams? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Because families as a majority don’t plan trips based on roller coasters they base it on things for the whole family to do. Plus if it’s being touted as a destination park, then families usually do something 1-2x per year. If they choose OASIS over KI then that hurts KI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. It’s interesting. They turned the smaller course into parking for tennis. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I just logged in to suggest a Johnny 5 coaster. Well done. Hopefully nothing short circuits for them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Upon closer inspection... it is the country club...d’oh.... I did find a Muirfield one where it’s $2,000 a person or a team event for $9500 so that may be closer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I just looked up a few charity options and you can play Muirfield for about a $150 donation .... that’s not bad for what you get.... I can see how this course (Golf Center) is easy (I’ve walked the memorial) compared to others. But it does look nice. My favorite hole might be the par 3 over the water. 8. For sure. I can’t find any old over head photos to really compare. I played last week for the first time and it’s amazing. Nicklaus and Muirhead designed a beauty and you can see in some of the holes the planned beauty of it all. I did well and kept everything below the dreaded no doubles on any hole (8 on par 4, 10 on par 5, etc)..... Then we got to 18 and we had to play till we were done. Well I tin cupped it and managed to get a 15 on 18.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Is that the original grizzly course from the 70s or is it a hybrid of sorts? I know the south course has been turned into an academy and the Bruin is gone. Also the original grizzly course when it opened, were you always playing in amongst the housing or did that happen when they sold some land for housing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. We lump the Paramount time as one time when it was multiple different owners. For Kings Island the original owners in the Paramount Time wasn’t terrible. The later owner groups of the Paramount time was not good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. What if the rebuild SOB at Cedar Point? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. My dad has one as well and if you were to see him at the beginning of the day you’d question why he has it. But after a few hours (2-3) you can see the effects of the stroke and then you see why he has a marker. He usually enjoys going to see a few shows and hanging out in the water park Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hey all I tried searching on here and came under empty (and if this needs to be moved to a different forum, I apologize). I’m looking for some info, pictures, aerials of the Golf Center when it opened and to find out how the course was changed. I know the Bruin course was alternated around 2010 and officially closed in fall of 2017. When did the houses get built on the course? It’s a gorgeous course and a unique Nicklaus and Muirhead course. It’s a shame it’s being slowly eroded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I agree and I think if we did sit down over blue ice cream or a beer at the Reds building you would see my intent is more “I see much more potential and want the park to be the best” versus “they never do anything right”. And you’re right that’s fair. I want the Disney experience because when I was a kid kI did have similar to Disney experiences and I want that for my kids as well. Seeing mascots in the park, food experiences, etc. but also, it’s not hard to try and replicate what Disney does on the customer service side. Outback, Texas Roadgouse, or Ruth Chris can all have the same standard of service. Of course atmosphere and food will be different but there’s no reason service can’t be similar (and that’s how I feel about Disney vs KI). You’re also right I have only gone one time this year and I didn’t see anything super different than last year. So it’s possible I went on a down day. Winterfest was great. It was a blast. I hope it keeps getting better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Good, cheap, or fast. Usually it’s pick 2... sometimes it’s none or one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I agree. I’m confused at your question. My comments were specifically aimed at KI not the whole industry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I have no idea. If I were to guess nationwide and industry wide... I’d say 2002 (year following 9/11), economy drops in 2000 and 2008, this year, and maybe a time in he mid 90s? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Are you implying that ticket prices may attract certain guests? Absurd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I shortened your quote just so you know I’m replying to you but it’s not a long long quote... I’ve been going to the park since I was little starting in 86. You picked the one ride I can’t debate you on. The Beast is still a world wide phenom. However, my point still stands. If you don’t do the little things right, food service for example, it leaves a negative impression on the guests. The new coaster will get people to visit but to sustain visits you need people to want to come back. I’m not talking about the people who will visit no matter what. Most of us fall in that category. But the people/families with money to spend are going to pick and choose where they spend it. It’s not going to be based on a roller coaster but the whole experience. If you have a negative experience you won’t be quick to return. For example, in my family we have held gold passes for the last 5-6 years. This year we didn’t get them due to the mounting negatives over the years. We may not get them next year. We have instead used the money on our 3 gold passes to be spent elsewhere. 20. Rides will get you an attendance spike but it never is sustainable. If you want to see increasing numbers you need to improve the little things that make people want to come back to the park. Over priced sub par food, lackluster employees, etc doesn’t make people want to return. A ride makes you visit once, the other parts makes you want to return. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. This is why a few of us are against the speiling or random talking on the mic. You learn to ignore the ride ops till they yell.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I don’t disagree with what you say stashua123... But here’s the deal from an employer position and a customer... it takes one bad employee to ruin everything you are building. KI does have a different target that WDW. That’s what I mean by prestige. To work at WDW is competitive and “everyone” wants it. So you don’t have to pay top dollar because if someone doesn’t work out because of attitude you can fire them and have 10 people to replace... KI isn’t pulling people from all over to Work. So you have to raise salaries to ensure there is more people wanting to work there than positions. Then you have to fire the few that are bad. This helps employees like yourself or friends who enjoy their jobs and like being there. You go into Skyline and the employee at the counter is super awesome, you have a great impression. If the employee is short or bored etc then you have bad impressions on the rest of your day... no different at KI... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Hate to say it because it makes me sound like I hate all KI employees.... KI does not have the prestige as a Disney World does. So going to work there for most is no different than working a Skyline or Kroger’s outside of the park. When you pay min wage or lower wage you get lower effort. To really turn employee attitudes around is to increase pay and cut the employees that are rude or slow or don’t care etc.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. https://www.wftv.com/news/local/daytona-beach-roller-coaster-was-inspected-hours-before-it-derailed-injuring-riders/770057002 The coaster has failed multiple inspections...
