  1. Right and wrong are not that black and white. Those who purchased FastLane+ and did the whole re-ride and get free shirts took an economic risk and are now reaping the rewards. That's capitalism 101. From where I'm standing, it seems like all the people complaining about it are just bitter because they didn't think of it first. Also, it's a t-shirt. In the grand scheme of things, nobody's really going to care if you were one of the first 5,000 riders on Banshee or not.
  2. The day Vortex gets removed? That'll be the day, folks. That'll be the day.
  3. I rode Banshee three times today. Although I personally would have liked to have ridden more, I was there with an acquaintance who, on the first try, couldn't fit in the test seat. I mean, it was really, really close - I'd say the seatbelt was a half centimeter too short. Anyway, he then proceeded to go through all five stages of grief (he had bought an ACE membership for the explicit purpose of going to Media Day) and we proceeded to eat a delicious lunch at the Chicken Shack, marathon The Bat a bit, and jog around the small section of the park that was open in the hopes of him losing enough weight to get that extra half centimeter. Apparently it worked, because when he tried the test seat again, he fit, albeit barely. The first thing he said when the train hit the brake run was "I like Diamondback better." (On a side note, that buttered bread bun roll thing [EDIT: apparently it's something called "Texas Toast," although I've never heard anything referred to as that before] that came with the complimentary meal at the Chicken Shack was possibly the most delicious thing I've ever eaten at an amusement park. I mean, that's some Dollywood-tier food right there.)
  4. I have also heard this rumor. An acquaintance of mine who works at the park (but not at the Dippin' Dots stall) told me with utmost sincerity that Diamondback is getting seat belts this year. I don't buy it.
  5. This is why we can't have nice things.
  6. Diamondback is my favorite in theory, but The Beast takes the cake in practice.
  7. For Pete's sake, could we all just take a chill pill on this logo-on-shirt business? Those attending Media Day (IMO a bit of a misnomer seeing as it's more likely going to end up like some overcrowded enthusiast event) have been given very clear directions on what not to wear, and if anyone wants to see if they can sneak into the event with a shirt that does not follow the guidelines, more power to them. Besides, if someone is denied entry to Media Day because of a shirt not fitting the very clear guidelines, that's one less person in front of me in line.
  8. But at least Invertigo still has its loop.
  9. Who in the right mind would vote to remove Adventure Express?
  10. How in the world were the attractions in this poll chosen? Completely arbitrarily, I'd imagine. I don't want to see any ride go. Unless that ride is Son of Beast, but I don't think we'll be having to worry about that anymore.
  11. I am very careful with my capitalization and honestly don't think I'll ever be terp'd. Speaking of capitalization, the precedent seems to be that "Terp'd" is capitalized. Checkmate.
  12. While I'm more than happy to cooperate with whatever Kings Island requests of us, they do seem to have been requesting a lot lately.
  13. My earlier comment was directed less at chugh43 and more at UnrealNightmare, but I guess a misunderstanding like that is bound to occur if you don't specifically quote the post you're referring to, so I apologize to chugh43 for being so vague. It's just that when people start throwing around words like "insensitive" and "offensive" in reference to things that might not entirely be 100% politically correct in everyone's eyes, I get concerned that KIC is turning into another online forum I lurk on, where virtually every opinionated statement is taken as "insensitive" or "offensive." While I realize it wasn't really an opinion that was interpreted as "insensitive" or "offensive," I don't want things to get so out of hand that one member goes so far as to claim another member's use of a picture of Chief Joseph as an avatar is "insensitive" and starts a massive multi-page debate as to whether or not a non-Native American user utilizing an image of a Native American said user looks up to as an avatar is an inherently offensive act. If you don't agree with the use of that particular word in that particular context, I can understand that. I can also understand the poster using that particular word in that particular context and thinking nothing of it, and that doesn't make the poster insensitive (although the use of such unnecessarily archaic vocabulary makes the poster seem pretentious, although that's likely the intention.) I come here to discuss Kings Island, not read arguments, although as of late I seem to have been doing far more of the latter.
  14. Obviously it wasn't BB1's intent to be insensitive, and you all knew what he meant. There's something to be said for trying to be as sensitive to others as possible, but it's not really a poster's responsibility to go over everything he or she posts with a fine-toothed comb, picking out and removing anything anybody ever could possibly see as "offensive." So please, get over it.
  15. Maybe they'll just put a giant red rubber ball in the center of the Cyrkle.
  16. I'd just like to say that I saw the Canada's Wonderland show, and, to be honest, I was amazed. Easily one of the best shows I've seen at any amusement park ever, including the Disney parks. So I'm excited.
  17. It's unfortunate that there doesn't seem to be any webcam for Carowinds that we could check to see if their Woodstock Gliders has been disassembled. It's still listed on the Carowinds website, if that means anything.
  18. Whatever it is, it certainly won't be as "big" as Banshee, so I don't think it'll be taking any focus from it. Possibly a companion ride.
  19. That, of course, implies that flowers and benches can't be considered an attraction, to which the EPCOT Flower and Garden Show would probably disagree. Like I said, not getting my hopes up.
  20. Unintentional emoticon for the win, although I initially thought that was just the hip way of referring to Banshee.
  21. Pretty sure the relocation of the Flying Scooters to the center of the former Action Zone circle isn't very likely. It's Action Zone, people - not Nostalgia Zone.
  22. I have successfully snapped once, on the Flying Scooters set at Knoebels. I wasn't quite expecting the "snap" (seems a bit more like a "clunk" to me) to be as powerful as it was, so, needless to say I was caught completely off guard. Easily the third scariest thing that day, behind the Looper and the Haunted Mansion.
