  1. If I remember correctly, if you do somehow manage to win one of those claw games with iPods as prizes, you don't actually get the iPod - you get some degree of an empty case that can later be traded in for an iPod. So technically speaking, the "prize" payout could possibly be considered less than $10 in value. I think.
  2. Ravine Flyer II. Millennium Force. Between the two, Ravine Flyer II all the way.
  3. Back to the topic at hand... As odd as it may seem, I certainly hope Mean Streak doesn't get one of those steel re-tracking renovations like Texas Giant did. It seems like blasphemy to me. Not to mention that, for all intents and purposes, once a ride is renovated like that, it's basically a steel coaster, (but that's a completely different debate) and Cedar Point already has a disproportionately large amount of those.
  4. http://rcdb.com/501.htm (teehee...) I love Blazing Fury as well.
  5. I'm sure one day, Intamin will go the way of Arrow. It'll be "that company" that many parks have rides from, yet is no longer actively designing rides. If that'll be anytime in our lifetimes, or if B&M will bite the dust first, I don't know. Whether or not Intamin's best days are behind them remains to be seen. Personally, I hope not, because competition is just alright with me.
  6. Well, they really are keeping us up to date. That's nice of them.
  7. I fear elevators, particularly ones where you can see precisely how high you are and how fast you are moving.
  8. I just now realized how egocentric this thread sounds.
  9. I miss absolutely nothing at all from Paramount. Under the Paramount moniker, the Flying Cars and Antique Eagles screamed their last scream.
  10. In any case, Congo Falls is the only water ride on the Action Zone/Coney Mall side of International Street, and for that alone I don't see it going anywhere soon. Maybe it'll end up being replaced with another water ride at some point, but it seems like a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
  11. If I owned Kings Island, I'd sell the park immediately and use the proceeds to retire. ...what? Can't blame me for thinking outside the box.
  12. I can think of a certain Disney attraction's song that would be far worse. Space Mountain?
  13. Hot Cross Buns in an endless loop. You don't know scary until you've listened to Hot Cross Buns for two hours straight.
  14. I don't always go to Soak City, but when I do, I prefer the ride formerly known as Snowy River Rampage. Stay in the dry park, my friends.
  15. The Q-Bot system is probably the least exploitable fast queuing system around, which is why I like it. Both FastLane and Disney's FastPass sysem seem ripe for exploitation, although FastPass has vastly improved over the past few years.
  16. Wasn't stress caused by unbanked turns partly what doomed The Bat?
  17. Well, as it appears this is becoming a legitimate discussion thread for some reason, I'm going to say some kind of woodie.
  18. Maverick's restraints really kill the ride for me. Call me crazy, but I don't want to have to be able to anticipate the turns and brace myself accordingly to have an enjoyable ride experience.
  19. No need to be rude about it, guys...
  20. I'm not gonna lie, that's a pretty rad T-shirt. I would have gotten one, but I stupidly entered On Location from the side opposite where the merchandise was.
  21. Seriously? LordSkippy, picking up distinctly bad vibrations from this topic.
  22. My money is on Congo Falls. I can't see Flight Deck or Invertigo leaving any time soon.
  23. I hope Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal has a tomb stone if they do have them, You mean Kenton's Cove Sailboat Canal? The ride that was removed for The Beast?
  24. Well, if this thread is locked when I get up tomorrow, I'd just like to say that it's been a tonne of fun and hopefully the next time we get a new coaster we can have a thread like this. With fewer fanboys of any particular manufacturer. It's been real swell. (On the other hand, if this thread is not locked when I get up tomorrow, the regular antics shall, of course, continue.)
  25. The one thing - the one thing - I was unsure of at the announcement was the color scheme, and it's already growing on me.
