I like to play video games, listen to music, write songs, watch movies and old TV shows, and I also love theme parks! I got into rollercoasters around 10 years old. Sure, I'm not a theme park enthusiast, but I've been to a few parks. I've been to Disney World, Kings Island, Holiday World, Six Flags St. Louis, Six Flags Over Texas, and one defunct park, Rocky Point (was in Rhode Island, but torn down to make apartments/condos). I'm going to Six Flags Great America this October. I'm moving to the east coast soon, so SF New England and Great Adventure are going to be added onto this list. If I muscle up the courage to drive over 7 hours, I might go to Cedar Point next year too. I don't know where to get the attachment, but I've been on 20 Steel, 10 Wooden, and 30 Total different rollercoasters. After I visit all the above parks, it will be: Steel (54); Wooden (18); Total (72)~ maybe then I'll be considered a roller coaster enthusiast.

  1. What I think Cedar Fair will build at Kings Island (in no particular order): - A RMC coaster in the RiverTown section; Cedar Fair will probably make this one as big or bigger than the one at Six Flags Great America (Goliath). - A Giga coaster that goes out towards the waterpark from RiverTown (being placed at the Log Flume sight). This makes more sense than the rumored Giga going out towards the park entrance (where's the space for that? exactly). - An indoor coaster similar to the one at Canada's Wonderland. I'm guessing the ride would go well at X Base or replace an existing building (like the Tomb Raider complex). - A watercoaster in the waterpark (these are commonplace now). What I personally wish they would build (also, in no order): - RMC conversion of The Racer (similar to the one at Magic Mountain) - A Dive-Drop from B&M at the front of the park (tear down Invertigo); the coaster could interact with a new park entrance. - An Intamin Steel Coaster that is like Maverick but bigger. - An Intamin Woodie like El Toro but add in the now-infamous Vertical Loop & call it Son of The Beast. The ride would be a huge hit!
  2. It's been 4 years since any major expansion to Boomerang Bay. Is it just me or is it time to add something new in the waterpark? Here's what I think should happen: they need to connect the pathways from the funnel slide to the older water slides further west (maybe build something in that space, maybe not). I'm not wanting any major changes, just a pathway that connects up the waterpark, so you don't run into dead ends.
  3. I agree, the area needs to have a better way of getting around back there. I'd put a pathway not only looping around SkyCoaster and Drop Tower, but that somehow connects up with X Base. The area would be big enough to be considered its own section, so I'd gradually build onto it. 1st year: Inverted Coaster (where Flight Deck was). 2nd year: Terrain Coaster (preferably wooden) in some of the space left behind by Son of Beast. 3rd year: A spinning ride (ALA: Tony Hawk's Spin). 4th year: An Inverted Launch Coaster. 5th year: Dark Ride (themed to dinosaurs). From there, I don't know b/c that would be too much dreaming.
  4. Flight Deck should be Rust: The Ride. Son of Beast should just be renamed One Crazy SOB. Drop Tower should be called The Tower of Screams. Invertigo should be called Whiplash. Delirium> Frisbee: Go Get It! Adventure Express> Drummer Syndrome. Racer> The Racers (it annoys me that it's singular). Flight of Fear> (Not gonna go there, because the station themeing is just too easy to make fun of). Firehawk> Breakdown (theme it around that movie with Russel Crowe or whoever LOL). Vortex> (can't think of anything for this one). Beast> Forest Tour: 5 Minutes of Terror.
  5. I've had dreams of different theme parks in 2 different ways: some in rollercoaster tycoon style and the other in real life. Everytime I have a "video game" dream, some coaster crashes or someone is drowned by "the floating hand." Pretty sick, I know. I guess that dream is showing me what it's like to be a guest at one of my RCT3 or RCT2 creations. As far as falling dreams go, I always wake up from "hitting the ground" in my dream. I usually start freakin' out thinking I'm falling in real life. I guess my body has some kind of weird seizures during those dreams. The only dreams I've ever been scared of are the ones where I'm falling face first. Funny, I usually wake up with my face facing the ground.
  6. When a person stops a car fast, the passengers fly forward. That's b/c the forces are still going, even after the car's stopped. When you speed over hills when you drive, your body isn't going as fast, so your stomach jumps. If you're going fast enough, your car's wheels are going to come off the ground for a bit. All these elements can be found on a coaster as well.
  7. Weird, I remember having dreams of giant swings when I was just a kiddie. In the dream, I would go maybe 100 feet up in the air. Did anyone ever have one of these dreams? Now I get to live that dream out.
  8. I've heard about that ride (Flying Eagles), is it like the one that's at Holiday World (next to Revolution)? If so, it's not stupid, more of a family ride, but still fun. I mostly enjoyed it at HW b/c this kid in front of my car was screaming profanities and trying to tell me a story the entire time. If it were me, I'd buy back the one at Carowinds and put it back where that 3-Point Shooter game is now (which gets annoying after awhile when they play "Everybody Dance Now" everytime you walk by). About the comments earlier on other rides: it makes little sense to me to have a ride that can be enjoyed just as well at a fair grounds or an indoor mall (ferris wheels excluded).
  9. I've worked in food service off/on for almost 7 years now and there is always someone eating in the back room or wiping their face and then handling the food. It's expected. That doesn't make it right. As for the customer service, I think Kings Island's is good, but Holiday World's is better. They'll give you extra condiments and stuff without being asked to do so. The prices and the food quality of some of the restaurants is what I don't like about the restaurants at KI. One thing that gets me is that they tend to get rid of the really good restaurants (chinese buffet in International Street) and keep 2nd rate ones (pizza station in the Festhaus).
  10. I like the idea of a Ferris Wheel in Coney Mall, but I've never ridden a Screamin' Swing ride. What's it like? Is it like the "SWAT" rides they have at various parks in the US (SF New England has one)? I knew that they were going to do something with all that space on the other side of the walkway from Vortex. I think they should put that Swings ride at X Base and keep the Ferris Wheel in Coney Mall, then put up either an enterprise or Inverter Ship next to the Ferris Wheel (or even skip the ferris wheel and put in a double or triple wheel).
  11. I already figured that happens. They were thinking that there was no track piece during part of the ride and that the trains would "jump" off the track onto the other side. Sorry I didn't specify enough before.
  12. I've ridden it maybe four times. Three times facing the ground first and one time facing skyward first. Every single time I rode facing the ground, I blacked out once I start on the return trip backwards. My friends have told me that I look really creepy with my eyes rolling back and stuff! The one time I didn't do that was at night and when I was facing backwards first. I think it was for those two reasons (no sun out and doing the more intense part (backwards) first) that really kept me from blacking out that one time. I haven't gone on it since `07, because I had a horrible headache afterwards and my friend that I rode with got sick and threw up after the ride. If I ever go on it again, I'm only going backwards first or I won't go on it, because my body's trying to tell me that it's not good for me to get on that thing. Face/Off is probably the most intense ride I've been on at Kings Island, hands down.
  13. Despite what people may think, the Voyage did have tiny pieces of wood flying off of it. Now that I think of it, it could have been from the nearby tree branches, which makes more sense then the ride itself. I don't think you can make a wooden coaster that can "top voyage" for awhile. If anything, they need to build up to par with the voyage, but I don't see them surpassing it anytime soon. This is supposed to be about Wilde Beest so why are there so many responses to the Voyage thing. It really wasn't that big of a deal.
  14. Cedar Point has a peanut character section. I don't think that the main railroad is stupid. I thought the one in the kiddie park was stupid only because it just goes around in a circle (it reminds me of the kind at city malls). I bet some kids like it though, so it shouldn't go. I did think that Scooby's Ghoster Coaster looked stupid, and it was torn down. I thought the Lazer Tag ride was stupid, and it was torn down. Should I continue? I'm not saying these rides aren't loved. I'm saying that when a ride isn't up to par with a stellar park, it should be replaced. Let's hypothetically say Kings Island was getting a compact inverted coaster or a boomerang. That would be stupid because those rides are best suited for smaller parks. Most (not all) of the rides KI has gotten rid of were outdated or not necessary for the park. Why would you go to a theme park to play Lazer Tag or go on a train that goes around in a circle? That's why those rides don't make since to me why they were ever at the park.
  15. The first year I went on it, the ride had very small pieces of wooden flying off the track at me. It wasn't that bad really, just one or two peices during the first drop and the 2nd one. I went on it 3x's and it happened each time. The largest piece was about the size of my index finger. I'd never seen anything like it before. I was scared mostly because I didn't think that was normal, not because I could have been hurt.
