  1. We are planning to be at Cedar Point this weekend and it will be our first trip since this policy was implemented. Can anybody speak to how this works and give some first-hand info on the process?
  2. I had the worst experience that I can ever recall on The Beast on Sunday afternoon. I sat in 1-3, so it’s my fault for being on a wheel seat. But the jackhammering and general roughness was nearly unbearable. I couldn’t wait for the ride to end. I haven’t felt that way since GASM at SFoG last summer. I woke up with a nasty bruise on my elbow this morning and I can tell you exactly when it happened. And after as many laps as I have on that ride, being unfamiliar with the layout wasn’t the issue. I can generally ride comfortably because of how familiar I am with the ride. It was more than I could handle this Sunda. Has anybody else felt this recently? It pains me to say this because of my love for the ride, but that was as disappointing a ride I have ever had on The Beast.
  3. I was unimpressed by the Mac at Winterfest, so I doubt I will be having it this year. The blue ice cream hot chocolate though... yes please!
  4. If Firehawk is indeed the attraction being removed, we might be able to get some interesting views of the construction area during Winterfest since FoF will be open.
  5. After visiting last night, it felt totally dead (pun not intended). We were disappointed in the overall atmosphere, design and scenery, and lack of scare actors. We saw maybe 4 actors in Blackout. There was nearly nobody just roaming the park. It felt cheap. That being said, the concept of CHAOS is really cool IMO. There is potential if they are willing to invest in it. Wolf Pack’s new animatronic was functional when we went through - very neat! We will be at Halloweekends next week and will hope that Haunt improves as we get into October.
  6. I’m guessing a Racer/Coney Mall revamp as well. Look at their trend of matching a new attraction with an updated food location... Chicken Shack = Banshee, Funnel Cakes = MT, Coney BBQ = _____? I’m all-in on giving Coney Island some love.
  7. Up until the MCBR, this ride looks like it has the chance to be the best dive coaster out there. After the MCBR... meh. Overall, this looks like a great addition for the park.
  8. The sign says “phones or loose articles” though... I guess we will have to wait and see how it is being enforced, but it looks like they are trying to take a pretty firm stance.
  9. Via CP Rundown on Facebook... This leads me to have a few questions/comments. What happens if there aren’t enough lockers? Do people not get to enter the ride because Cedar Point doesn’t have enough locker space? Does this policy include my wife’s asthma inhaler? She needs that on hand all the time, especially on a hot summer day in the sun. Why is the park promoting Battle for Cedar Point, their app, in-park WiFi options, etc... if phones are such an issue? Take all mobile-related content off of the Fun TVs. If you are going to prevent guests from entertaining themselves in line, get all three trains running first. If you can’t tell by now, I strongly disagree with this policy. I would prefer to see the New Texas Giant zipper pouches if it is such an issue.
  10. Steelers Country might be what gets me over the top to finally visit Kennywood! I get to my favorite hobby with my favorite NFL team!
  11. We finally got to ride SV this week after visiting Sunday-Tuesday. Wow! It is as advertised! My number 2 coaster! We waited about 1.5 during most of the trip, with a few shorter waits throughout. I’m sure with 3 trains it will be much more efficient.
  12. Any recommendations for what attractions to go to first, where to eat, etc...?
  13. I will be at SFNE for one day only this Sunday for my first time. I am hoping that KIC will have some advice for me on how to best visit this park. My gameplan was to get all of the credits and then ride Superman/Wicked Cyclone as much as possible. We aren’t paying up for the Flash Pass because admission is already absurdly expensive. Much appreciated in advance!
  14. Amazing event. My wife and I were blown away by the quality of the experiences, food, and rides! The staff was so fun and kind working with us, and the fact that they extended ERT on Saturday because of the delay impressed us. I couldn't see a Cedar Fair or Six Flags park doing that. This was our first visit since 2014, so Thunderbird was a new coaster for us. We were both very impressed and put it in our top 10 overall! Overall, Holiday World impressed (as they always do) and likely gained a pair of loyal Holiwood Nights attendees.
  15. What is the policy in Splashin Safari regarding flip flops and water shoes on rides? We are trying to avoid being barefoot while walking through the water park if possible. We would prefer to wear flops because we don’t have any water shoes, but if we need to get some we can. It has been a few years, but I feel like I remember being able to wear flip flops and stash them in the station for mammoth/wildebeest.
  16. Not a good look for RMC’s grand debut with Cedar Fair. I’m wondering if/how this will impact RMC’s reputation in the industry. This is obviously not their first time with issues at opening. I’m also curious to see if/how this impacts the public perception of Steel Vengeance - especially if more issues follow.
  17. I’m not sure I would want white supports. I view it similarly to a white car - it’ll get pretty dirty and not hard to keep looking “new.” Obviously there will be examples out there that could be used to prove me otherwise, but I would guess that is why we don’t see pure white often. I would think that with all of the woods, trees, dirt, etc... at Kings Island, it might look rough quickly. GateKeeper probably holds the white look better because it isn’t surrounded by trees, pollen, dirt, and the like.
  18. I was curious about the cemetery and what KI can/can’t do near that area. Is it off limits I assume? I also am not sure of where exactly the property line with GWL falls.
  19. I’m curious to your thoughts on The Voyage at Holiday World. By this logic, wouldn’t you consider that a hybrid as well?
  20. I have a few that I don’t see mentioned yet, so here are the 11 parks that I have have been to. Kings Island Cedar Point Carowinds Six Flags over Georgia Kentucky Kingdom Holiday World Stricker’s Grove Jungle Jack’s Landing Miracle Strip at Pier Park Funtown Splashtown USA Sesame Place (as a very young child)
  21. As part of my catch-up-with-KIC-after-2-years-of-being-inactive endeavor, I subjected myself to reading through this entire thread. This may have been the most difficult thread to read of the bunch. You all need to chill. I am of the opinion that KIC does not need a Giga and that the investment it would require could be better used elsewhere. I don’t feel a hole in our coaster lineup that a Giga would fill. I would love to have one, but I honestly don’t know if it would fit at KI at this time. However, if we were to have a Giga on the way, I would love to see something similar to the VERY ROUGH markup below. I have no idea if this is even possible, but I think it would be so cool to have a turnaround interact with the newish entryway to the parking lot. What a great way to start the day. Move or remove Congo Falls to make room for an entry plaza. Thoughts?
  22. Of parks I have been to, I voted other for Carowinds. Fury is incredible and they have a few strong compliments as well.
  23. This will be my first Holiwood Nights as well. I haven’t been back to Holiday World since Thunderbird was announced, so that’ll be a new experience for me. I can’t wait!
