  1. For people who weren't following the park back when Raven was announced and built, what was that situation like? How did people react? How did the park handle announcing that huge step forward? What was the general feel, if you will, of fans of the park and enthusiasts at that time, both before and after the announcement and building?
  2. Millennium Force. It is smooth, fun, and is re-rideable because it is not incredibly intense.
  3. I don't know if egg nog is a desert, but egg nog milkshakes count, right? Either way, can't go wrong with the nog.
  4. Carowinds will also be adding a SlingShot ride in 2015. https://www.carowinds.com/rides/Thrill-Rides/Sling-Shot http://www.heraldonline.com/2014/12/10/6611601_carowinds-adds-sling-shot-ride.html?rh=1
  5. Probably the Banshee Construction Thread. Where's Goble and the Offseason Photo Contest were pretty fun too. Was the topic about that one young fellow trying to find a coworker to ask her out this year or last year? I can't remember. Either way, that one may be topic of the decade.
  6. The only thing I could think of regarding the connection with SeaWorld is that Bain Capital has worked with Blackstone in the past, and that cruise ships and theme parks are targeting the same market, but even then I don't think that would be extremely related here.
  7. Get use to it man. This seems to happen all the time nowadays. You aren't missing anything, because what we are supposed to find, or be diverted away from, isn't easy to spot. Unless it is. Who knows? Someone does, but it sure isn't me! Just roll with it and enjoy the ride! It is more fun that way!
  8. Diamondback. It completely changed the face of the park, became a must ride for every visit, and is a high-capacity, high-reliability, coaster. It is incredibly fun, and offers so much. It was and still is a great addition, and was just what the park needed at that time. For me specifically, Diamondback was the reason I began attending and got a pass for Kings Island in 2009. It was where my enthusiasm for this industry was born. To me, it is the most influential ride of my life. It will also hold that place in my heart.
  9. If there are people on here looking for entertainment stuff around the Cincinnati/Dayton area, Scene 75 in Dayton is great for indoor fun. Laser tag, mini golf, bowling, arcade, go karts, bumper cars, etc... It is a tad pricey, but it is a high quality product! http://www.scene75.com
  10. Lots of basketball. Watching, playing, everything. And football until it is over. I have never been much of an outdoor winter sport guy. My dad told me, when I was growing up in Maine, that snowboarding/skiing wasn't allowed because you would get hurt. That is the policy he gave to his players when he coached basketball, so I just kind of followed along, and I never got into it when I grew up. Oh, and I watch coaster POVs all the time.
  11. I didn't vote because I have not sampled enough of these parks to make an educated response.
  12. If they were to leave Kill Mart set up like that all year, it would be by far the most egregious one yet. Right in the middle of Coney Mall, one of the most iconic sections of the park... I would be shocked to see that happen. Hopefully the good people at Kings Island will see that too.
  13. I wouldn't mind hearing Van Halen again while I waited for Drop Tower next spring.
  14. I would have to say my favorite new credit was Banshee. It was truly perfect addition to the park in just about every way possible. My favorite overall credit from this season had to be my ride in the backseat of The Voyage at Holiday World. I love everything about that ride, and the back seat is a beast of an experience. Plus it was the first time my lady-friend had been to Holiday World, so that whole day was pretty awesome. Is it April yet?
  15. 1.Banshee: 17 2. Diamondback, Adventure Express, and Dodgem (Cedar Point): 7 3. Many rides at 6 I'm now realizing that I didn't get a very good year of riding this year... the least I have had since I started getting a pass in 2010. That is going to have to change next year. However the few rides I did have were pretty diverse, for me at least, as I made it to Stricker's Grove, Holiday World, Cedar Point, Kings Island, and Zoombezi Bay at the Columbus Zoo this year.
  16. That sounds incredible. I think that would be so much fun. Its like a real-life National Lampoon's Vacation!
  17. I was thinking the same thing. That would not be good at all.
  18. Will anybody be streaming the announcement for those of us who won't be there?
  19. Thats going to be hard to see because they are kind of not liked by most people anymore. Also it has been a while since a brand new stand up was builtThat maybe but if you think about it. All that needs to happen is for B&M to redesign the harness. Plus inverts weren't built for a long time. So stand ups may come back one day. B&M Inverts weren't built for a while because mostly everyone who wanted one and could afford one already had one.
  20. Reds HOF Grille is always a solid dining option. Very fair prices, good portion sizes, great food.
