  1. I like the concept of being able to hit a button and change the entire theme of the ride. Keep the experiences fresh every time! Also, another potential location that hasn't been mentioned yet is the Action Theater. I know it is currently showing that dinosaur show, but that is probably easy to phase out. I am interested to see what the back-stories of all of these parks are.
  2. The Lego Store in Times Square NYC was impressive. 8 ft. Statue of Liberty and multiple other huge constructions. It was actually pretty ridiculous.
  3. I just signed up about 20 minutes ago! I am looking forward to the guest speakers more than anything I think. It is always fun to hear what the big-shots have to say.
  4. New Holiblog: Thunderbird: All it takes is Will Power http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2015/04/02/thunderbird-takes-will-power/ Very cool.
  5. Exec 1: "Hey guys, this will be funny! Let's announce a fake ride that is in no way relevant to anything we are doing at our parks as an April Fools joke!" Exec 2: "Shouldn't we, ya know, put together an announcement of the actual rides we are building at some point? That way customers will have some sort of intrigue regarding our slowly-dying parks?" Exec 1: "Shut up, man! This will be hilarious!"
  6. I know I'm not going, but I have had multiple bad experiences at LongHorn in terms of food quality. The service was excellent every time, but the food was either really good or not good at all. And it is pretty expensive if you're a baller on a budget. Just trying to be helpful!
  7. Honestly, the answer has to be Banshee. Great ride, great capacity, etc... will lead to many more cycles than any other ride. And I didn't ride it nearly enough last year. Another ride I would like to ride more is The Bat.
  8. Thanks for reporting on these three parks! We don't see many reviews of these places on KIC, so it was definitely neat to see what was thought about each park.
  9. I would like to hear some reviews as well, for anyone who may have been able to ride already!
  10. Since we had about as much as we could handle in terms of media over-sensationalizing standard operating procedures at parks, and it seemed to flood the discussion boards throughout the season last year, I figured we could just combine the madness into one thread where we it can be discussed. And it has officially begun! The Coney Island Cyclone had to be evac'd from the lift hill today. http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/Cyclone-Gets-Stuck-on-Opening-Day-Forcing-Riders-to-Take-Long-Climb-by-Foot-297930981.html http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2015/03/29/coney-island-cyclone-gets-stuck-on-first-ride-of-season/
  11. Whenever you have a chance to go to Holiday World, you go to to Holiday World. It be because familiarity breeds contempt, but I would rather spend 1 day at Holiday World than 3 at Kings Island. That place is awesome.
  12. When you find out that Dollywood opens next weekend and you are seriously considering dropping the cash/time to go.
  13. When you're trying to drive home and you are using your haunt-maze-maneuvering skills to function in the fog.
  14. Cedar Point for me. Unfortunately, I don't have the sample size to accurately answer the question, so I had to go with "meh" for the second question.
  15. Since this topic came up, is there any kind of maintenance they can do in the off-season that will help with the rattle that some of the trains had going on toward the end of the year? It seemed to be worse toward the back of the trains, which is unfortunate because those are some of the best seats on the ride. Is there anything that can be done, or is it what it is?
  16. Don't count out Wicked Cyclone or Twisted Colossus either. Those look like a blast to ride.
  17. And sometimes that group doesn't move on at all.
  18. That image on the most recent countdown photo became on of my favorite views in the park last year.
  19. Other- The feeling of recklessness is my favorite part of a ride. Maverick, Voyage, etc... something with constant excitement, speed, G's, and whatever else there is. As long as there is a feeling of recklessness, it will work for me.
  20. When your lady friend asks you which POVs she should check out on YouTube, even though she isn't nearly as involved in this stuff as you are.
  21. I seem to recall another documentary regarding the industry that did not go well for the parks in question. I'm not sure why highlighting and promoting a negative part of a park's history would lead to any positive result.
  22. Starting to Decode 2014 was a legendary topic in every way. So much, well, everything happened in that thread. I have also particularly enjoyed the most recent Kentucky Kingdom thread. Lots of knowledge in there.
  23. Hopefully whatever is being planned for that area being opened up doesn't involve too much deforestation. That is really the only area near the front of the park that is still relatively well-forested (AKA not barren from trees).
