  1. hmm... Like I said before... If you MUST have beer in the park, then limit it to only the three places: Festhaus, Wings and Oktoberfest Gardens. This way we can monitor the areas easier and have a better chance at keeping the alchohol in only those areas without having people end up in lines with it or wondering through the park with it. Employees need to use their powers of observation and not give guests who appear to have had too much any more. I have my own opinions and you have yours, there is no need to "take umbrage" at my opinions as I have not, and will not, take umbrage to yours or anyone elses.
  2. I would love for there to be no beer at all in the park. There are too many people that drink too much, and the staff doesn't seem to use their powers to not provide beer to people who appear to have had too much. If you MUST have beer, KI needs to limit the places beer can be sold: i.e. INSIDE places only. Don't serve beer at Potato Works, don't serve it at Stunt Crew Grill, outside LaRosa's, and don't serve it at Tuckers. Wings, Festhaus and Oktoberfest Gardens are the best areas b/c they can be watched better. Very few guests pay heed to the signs that we have set up telling them to keep the beer on the patio. If all the beer were kept in more controlled areas, like Festhaus, we can assure that the most of the consumption will remain in that area and not in the ride lines or walking through the park. I don't agree that it would be "lack of consideration for adults who enjoy alcoholic beverages". You must keep in mind, PKI is a family park and alcoholic beverages should NEVER be a part of family park. If parents want to drink in front of their kids or while their kids are playing, let them go drink in their house or take their kids to a bar with them. I would suspect that most people would agree.
  3. I wouldn't get rid of LaRosa's just for the fact that it is too local for it to go away. Maybe if they offered more than just pizza, like they do at the normal restaurants, it would be better. I would LOVE to see the ST characters back! I really miss them and Star Trek is such a big investment with Paramount that they should keep them there. They should also create some sort of a ST ride. Personally I would make the park smoke free and alcohol free... beer causes problems in the park that can be major headaches... I would prefer that it would just all go away. I don't think attendance would be hurt too bad. Another option would be to only serve it at Festhaus, it's a more controlled area and keeps people inside with their beer.
  4. That's a great suggestion! Considering that the park and ride is next to 71 North/South it's a great place to park. The buses I belive also run till around midnight. You can call 513-621-4455 to get the Bus infoformation. I belive the park and ride number for Fields Ertel lot is 15. Of course, car pooling is great as well. Also, if you want to leave the park and come back the same day and you already paid for parking, you can get a ticket from Guest Relations before you leave so you don't have to pay for parking again.
  5. Yogi, I couldn't find any other place to post this, but I was wondering if you remember Dino from last year? Dino would always take my Security hat away from me and run around Nick with it. Usually he would give it to a kid or dunk it in one of the basketball games. It was fun, and the kids liked it. I never did get to find out who Dino was...
  6. It's been said already, but I agree totally with a general clean up of the park and better theming over all. Building bigger and bigger coasters would help, but the park is much better than the biggest coaster it could build. The family feeling in the park and the service that the employees offer are what keep people coming back. The biggest problem I saw last year was that the park was just dirty. I remember walking behind someone in ecology with their broom and pan and picking trash up that they would just leave on the ground. There also weren't enough people to clean and stock the bathrooms... I must have had almost 30 people during the summer last year ask me to have someone put toliet paper in the rest rooms or to clean them up. Something else that would help would be to build a larger area out side the front gate for eating. Guests ARE NOT allowed to bring any collers in the park unless they have medicines that have to be kept cold (which they can check into First Aid) or have baby bottles in them. A lot of guests don't like that, and have to go all the way back to their cars. If we had a bigger space for them to use I think they would enjoy it. Water is another thing KI could get better on. When it's 100 degrees out and really busy, people aren't going to get out of a line to get water (which is FREE if you ask for it!). We should have carts that have nothing but water on it that can go through the lines to get people water. The biggest problem on really hot days are people that don't eat or drink enough and pass out. We should accomodate for that by having much easier access to water than by filling up First Aid with patients.
  7. They have been working on SOB all winter, I am not sure what they were doing. I honestly can't remember seeing anything new with the lapbars, though. The "Y" bar does look much more comfortable. I have a hard time riding SOB, and I have known some people to get hurt on the ride as well. The ride is just too uncomfortable for most people over 6'.
  8. I hate to say this, but I never really saw any shows at KI except for the country one last year b/c I couldn't help that. I just never had time to go see them. I will try to this year, I promise! Spellbound sounds like fun, I can't wait to see it. Young Contry I think might be a problem... I can't belive they are putting it on the Backporch! That area is way too small and I can see having problems with congestion... and the entrence to Oscars being just to the left of the Backporch... I hope we don't get people walking back there. Pulse sounds just like "STOMP", I agree, but it still sounds fun and its something to watch still be interested in.
  9. I won't give you a number, but you couldn't wiggle last year at the first BAFFD. The lines were 3+ hours long for some of the rides, and people were EVERYWHERE.
  10. The "Come Back Later" signs are pretty much telling people to come back another day, but we weren't letting people in for a couple hours because there were already too many people in the park and we had to wait for a certain number to leave before we could let them enter. We are only allowed to have a certain number of guests in the park legally before we have to turn people away at the gate or make them wait, and we reached that number last year.
  11. Bring a Friend free day was really bad last year... way too many people. It was the first time I have known them to place "Come back later" signs on 71 before the exit for the park. We weren't letting people come in the park for a couple of hours, it was crazy! On the flip side it was great for the park and I hope we get another busy day like that again this year. Hopefully I will be able to work on the 11th... it will be a great time to get back into the swing of things.
  12. Hey Coasterguy107! Welcome to PKI!
  13. There is a video on the Huss website of Delirium... two camera angles, one on the ride itself and another watching the ride. It's pretty cool, you should check it out: http://www.hussrides.com/32GiantFrisbee.htm
  14. I am not sure when the shows are coming on... I belive the Discovery Channel one is on Memorial Day weekend, but you can contact the channels via email to find out or call PKI marketing and see if they will tell you. The mantince people are working on the coasters all winter... as soon as the park is closed they are fixing trains and track and doing touch up works on the rides like paint and smoothing out the rought spots (like for SOB). There is a lot of work that goes on during the off season that most people just don't get to see.
  15. There could be several reasons for the light. They have been working on SOB all winter, and they could still be working on it now. Also, the light could have been off of KI property, although I doubt it. They have had several filiming crews from Discovery and Travel Channels at the Park, so it could have been them. They were there several times during the off season filiming Tome Raider. It could just be filming of a comercial as well.
  16. Cool, this is the first time I have gotten to see the site and my first posting for it... it's a great site! This will be my second season at KI in Security (theme park). I worked in '98 in food service... anyone remeber Ginger?
