  1. If i'm not mistaken, havent they had the better part of 2 years to redesign and reconfigure? Yes, but this isn't a flat ride we're talking about. We are talking about the world's only wooden hypercoaster here, and a massive one at that. At the same time, it has had problems since day -100 (since it was under construction!). And if the refit fails to solve problems, then SoB would still be torn down and the re-fit money wasted. They have to think long and hard about this. As far as I know, it could become Son of Beast Forever. And yes, a refit would probably not make SoB ready until 2013. Remember how long it took to turn Texas Giant into a hybrid?

Here are my theories about the 2012 answer. 1. Three new dinosaurs. That's it. Sorry for such a lame addition, but considering the way CP has been treated... 2. Three new Boomerang Bay attractions. The three "?" balloons are a watery color (well, water given the reflection from the sky, so it may be that. The main park gets nothing new. 3. Three letters. S. O. B. A refit would take place. Perhaps a GCI/GG refit, a Texas Giant refit, replacing the second hill and Rose Bowl with a series of El Toro-like hills... 4. Dino Expansion, Boomerang Bay addition, and SOB refit put together. I can't expect anything more. From what I know, land has not been cleared for any flat ride, let alone a roller coaster. Boomerang Bay could be renamed Soak City, with the addition being a new, large wave pool (that's a Screamscape rumor, though). I was raised on Cedar Point, dating back to Mill Race and Sky Slide, so I am more attached to it. I feel that to give anything more to KI than these things would be unfair to CP (which, BTW, has removed more attractions than it has added as of recently ).
  3. I do believe it is possible that KI will get nothing new for 2012, despite the 40th anniversary. SoB will still be SBNO, and the only things that do involve the anniversary will be shows and ceremonies. Perhaps some park improvements would be in the works. Why do I believe this? Look at Cedar Point. In 2 years, they get the same stuff KI got in one year. And they have removed more rides/attractions (Demon Drop, Chaos, Paddlewheel Excursions) than they have added (WindSeeker, Dinosaurs Alive) as of now and next year. This doesn't include the Soak City area. I haven't been there since 2007 (when Maverick opened), and I have no plans to go next year. Don't get your hopes up for Kings Island. All they might do is change the name of Boomerang Bay to Soak City. You may be better off going to Canada.
  4. You might have to add Dinosaurs Alive to that. A good flat ride would be something that would be unique or at least very few exist. I don't know what kind of flat would be a good addition at this time. I would support a Topple Tower over the construction of a Screamin' Swing...but right now the country's only Topple Tower seems more similar to Son of Beast right now than an inverted frisbee. Oh, and I rode that said tower, and I liked it, but I don't think it's as intense as Delirium/Maxair.
