  1. It's hard for me to watch heavier riders insisting on ride ops squishing them into chairs.

The Racer is from another time, and it's difficult to fit certain builds into the trains.

I don't know why I'm seeing it more than I used to, maybe I've been oblivious, but to have a rider tell a ride op to use their knee to force the bar down is hard for me to watch. To be honest, I worry more for the ride op, if something happened.

I can see something added around the waist of some riders would be difficult in that situation, where inches count.

Regarding the Fluffy Friendly portion of this post, Im a Fluffy Guy (5'11", 305) and Im sure people already know this, but In Banshee, Rows 4 and 5 are what I refer to as the "Fluffy Lines" :) The Seat belts are just a little bit longer to accomidate guests such as myself. I truly appreciate that. Drop Towers belts used to be a lot longer than they are now. I was sad to see the last remaining Orange belts leave because I cant fit the new red belts..

  2. I'm sure someone here has some knowledge about Winterfest before Paramount did it it 2005. What was admission prices when they did it in the 80s? Did they include admissions with season passes? What attractions were open? I always heard just the train and the grand carousel, but could someone verify? Thanks!

  3. Jet theming as in...? Is the flight deck tape removed from the brake run? Have the logos been removed from the trains?

I can Confirm that there was No Flight deck Decals on any car of the 2 trains that were running on Sunday. Also, Yes indeed, the landing strip tape has been removed on the brake run..

  4. For what it's worth, which I know talking to ride ops is usually just a reliable as the Dippin Dots guy, the ride op at Flight Deck today said te ride will be updated in the offseason. Mostly because the ridership will be higher because of Banshee. Here's some last day 2013 pics of the ride, hopefully last known as, Flight Deck..Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Seems to me like way to much thought was put into this to just be a 10 minute Diversion for Banshee. the question is would Kings Island Sink this kinda Money into Rethemeing an old Arrow Suspended Coaster? Id like to think yes, but only time will tell.As excited as I am for Banshee, a Bat Retheme of Flight Deck is equally intriguing..

  6. I've seen WWC with lengthy lines, so I believe it when they say it is 90 minutes.

Everyone is getting their last visits in of the season. Regular season passes expire on Labor Day, so you will be seeing a lot of those people at the park.

I just can not believe how many people are complaining about the prices of the Gold passes. Other parks charge for a SINGLE day what KI charges for a Gold season pass.

Not to hijack the thread, but regular season passes expire on Labor Day?? As in, they cant come to any day after that? Not even a Non Haunt Sunday afternoon?

  7. Currently neither elevator can access the 50ft, many modifications would be necessary Also lucky bugger...block checks were all manual for many rides at cp

Agreed....but placing a restaurant there could be done with the modifications as you stated....There wouldn't be room for a kitchen, so that would have to be at ground level with cart delivery to the platform (via the modified elevator system), and because there would be a view with limited seating, it could be by reservation only. The cuisine could be fine dining with a wine list, French cuisine perhaps. With a little imagination the park could have a real money generator.

If memory serves me, when The international restaurant was in full operation, wasn't it a Fancy shmancy sit down, reservation type atmosphere? That would tell me that it's been done before and it didn't work..

  8. Is í ding di féin a scoileann an dair

Irish expression.. "It is a wedge of itself that splits the oak.." Basically, Keep your inner Demons at bay..

  9. Oh wow...the one thing that scary when it happens happened...

Intamin Flumes are the one ride I refused to ever work. In the event of a shutdown and full e-stop..that ride gets dangerous, very very quickly...

To put it simply, rafts at the turntable and transfer can and have gone airborne...

I have to wonder.. How can those rafts go airborn at the transfer table? seems like a pretty simple and easy transition..

  10. Ment to post this last night. But we took an evening Train ride (7:30 ish) and i noticed WWC had only a tiny stream of water running through it. When stopping at Soak City, we were told that everyone would have to evacuate the train because they werent going to be running another one for at least an hour. Upon walking by a couple of disgruntled guests, I heard the WWC had to be evacuated and that the only way the workers can safely evacuate the ride is by crossing over the Train Tracks. Is this true? Has anyone heard an reason as to why WWC had to be evacuated yesterday? im curious...

  11. I always notice this, but it's just something you have to accept when it comes to a large public place like an amusement park. Some people do not have good hygiene and some just sweat a lot! I do try and always clean my hands a lot after I get on rides like that.

I dont think that has much to do with it honestly. You can have the best hygiene in the world, But after walking around Kings Island in 90 plus degree temps with 80% Humidity, even the cleanest person in the world Gonna be Stinky!

  12. I performed a search, but was unable to return any results. I read somewhere a while back that their was a glitch in Cedar Fairs system that allows you to use a Kings Island Gold Pass to park at Cedar Point (Or Any Cedar Fair park for that matter) for free. Is there any truth to this? has anyone done it successfully?
