  1. Will be at the registration by 7 am tomorrow, wearing cargo shorts and Maverick shirt.
  2. I voted "other" because Blitz coaster is not listed.
  3. It's not the germs or the fact of interacting with a stranger that bugs me; I just personally find it to be annoying.
  4. I'll probably be trying out Fast Lane Plus at Cedar Point when I go for Coastermania! day. Had not Maverick been moved to Plus, I would probably just be buying Fast Lane.
  5. I think this exact same thing when people say that Maverick is "rough". It's not "rough". it's just intense and throws you from side, as it was intended to. Unlike an Arrow or Vekoma kind of "rough", I would say the track itself is smooth and while the transitions may be quick, they are not exactly "awkward".
  6. From my 17 total laps of experience on The Voyage, I can honestly say that riding in the front seat of one of the 6(or is it 7?) cars as opposed to the back of one makes all the difference in the world. It does not matter as much to where on the train you sit, but which seat on each car you ride. For example, there's a good chance that 6-1(7-1?) might be smoother than 1-2...(I'm not entirely sure though, just my hypothesis...) And also, obviously just like with any coaster as robust as Voyage, it helps to be prepared for all banked turns, quick transitions, and "rough spots" as much as you can... Right at 1:06 is a good example of a rough spot(right over those wooden planks), that part rattles me everytime...
  7. Fast Lane is a registered service mark/trademark or whatever of Cedar Fair... As such it should always be capitalized.
  8. Now that all the "tightening" problems have been fixed, and given the fact the amount of headbanging on Banshee is literally zero, I say these restraints are wonderful... One of the major reasons that I and many others consider Banshee to be the best invert in the world... But I highly doubt other parks would feel the need to change their existing B&M inverts to these style trains. As has been mentioned before, it would cost a lot more than you think and thus the return on the investment wouldn't really be worth it.
  9. Raven? I'm sorry. We all have opinions. For me, that is perhaps the most overrated wooden coaster on the planet. Both the other wooden coasters in that park far exceed it. Same idea, different coaster! But seriously, Voyage is among the three coasters I've ridden in my life that I would consider "elite" (Voyage, Maverick, El Toro). Everything else is 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or even 5th tier...But I understand, Voyage can be pretty rough...among other things...
  10. ^We already have 3 traditional woodies that have "those little bumps and rattles"... Say if KI were to build a new woodie sometime in the far-off future, why not get with the times and use that "laser-cut" or topper-track technology to their advantage? Have you ridden El Toro? Outlaw Run? The fact that they are ultra smooth does not detract from the experience, trust me. And Even if Outlaw Run arguably isn't really wooden, the GP would most certainly still refer to it as such. Just my opinion...
  11. IIRC, Don said during a Beast Backstage tour that $500,000 to $1,000,000 is how much it costs to maintain The Beast every year. For obvious reasons, I doubt Vortex's annual maintenance cost is anywhere close to that number.
  12. Already being discussed here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29254-holiday-world-2014-park-map/
  13. You've got to hand it to B&M on this one. The pacing is excellent and every element delivers... BIG TIME... There's really not a boring thing about the ride. Even the chain lift is exciting since you cross through the first loop. I'd also like to say that it is anything but forceless...yes the layout is "drawn-out" but the 68 mph speed compensates for that! Zero g-roll+dive into valley > first drop > helix finale > in-line twist > dive loop > 1st vertical loop > 2nd vertical loop > batwing If you can, ride in the front seat. The back is good but I'd have to say a front seat ride on Banshee is the best front seat ride at Kings Island now.
  14. It's a little shaky at the beginning, I know...

  16. ^I too am impressed at how well my new camera had been taking photos today... Pretty darn good for a point-and-shoot if I do say so myself!
  17. When the first riders got on at around 6am it was still dark enough that I would've considered it a night ride. I was one of those riders.... It WAS incredible, but I'm still putting Beast as my favorite night ride.
  18. Well, since I'm literally too tired to type out a big long trip report right now, I'll just let the photos do most of the talking... Check-in line: 4:30 AM The smell of Banshee in the mornin' Dive loop More dive loop Banshee line/lift hill Banshee que The eye of the storm "Sail with me into the setting sun" (Rum is for Drinking, Not for Burning - Senses Fail) Stunning view Purple train Blue train Zero g-roll, or as Robb Alvey calls it: TWISTYYYY! Trim, was hardly even noticeable Back half of Banshee Upward spiral Brake run Cool sign! Oh my is this beautiful! Lift hill The orange pops like fireworks on the 4th of July, love it! Bat. Meet Banshee. It's so fresh! New color scheme on Delirium I'm so pumped to ride AE tomorrow! O'Terpy Now I'm really surprised that they actually did this...but...it's awesome! Station Station Cool chandelier Outside of station And last but not least, a dry Congo Falls Overall, it was an excellent day, thank you Kings Island and Cedar Fair for all the improvements you've made this year. Everything is perfect, from the newly redone Festhaus entrance to the addition of Banshee, you delivered in every aspect possible, and more...
  19. This is the current photo I use for my background. Feel free to use it for yours, but nothing else... (This photo was taken by me and I take full credit)
  20. I miss his funny spelling mistakes. (Not even trying to be sarcastic or mean here, I really do miss them!) It seems like it was just yesterday when he said that he is surprised that a certain company has not been "defunked"... But alas, things change and we must move on. Ultimately, I respect the admins' decision to let him go...
