Your First Upside Down Coaster?
MrSaturdayNite replied to Sonofbeast2.0's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
My first inverting roller coaster was Vortex back in 1992. I was 8 at the time, and I had waited years to reach that 48" mark. I think that fact is why my sister decided to ride with me that first time, despite being pregnant at the time. Certainly an ill-advised decision. -

Word of advice: avoid getting water at the train station Dippin' Dots. Had a slight bit of Coke syrup mixed in mine. Ew.

Aren't they forbidden on Banshee? Or did I mis-hear the ride op?
-
^Glad I'm not on there. The idea of being stuck on that thing while in the down-facing seat terrifies me every time I ride that thing.

You can see the gas line if you look behind the monument. Someone in another thread said WindSeeker was closed tonight for high winds. Maybe they turn off the fire for that too.

Maybe not the best idea to disclose that information.

Sarcastic, yet helpful. I like it. Thanks. -
Best Day to Kings Island and/or Cedar Point
MrSaturdayNite replied to fanofFirehawk's topic in Kings Island
I'm looking at taking my first trip to the Point for one or two weekdays during the week of May 19th. What can I expect crowd-wise? -
^Only if it includes the "whoosh" of the wormhole.

I also would like to extend an apology for my "go to your room" comment last night. It was meant as a joke, and I hope it came across as such. But I've lurked these forums enough to know that such jokes can easily get out of hand. We may all disagree about why we love our Isle of Male Monarchs, but loving the park is what brings us together in the first place.

Kings Island used to have many more concerts in Timberwolf, but the venue isn't as ideal for most major bands anymore, especially with Riverbend Music Center, US Bank Arena, and other newer locations close by. Weird Al doesn't even play there anymore. If a venue isn't even good enough for Weird Al, that should say everything you need to know.

Park's closed for a corporate event on Sunday anyway, so enjoy your party without regret.

I spent $30 to feed my family yesterday. I'm looking at this offer very closely. Edited because touchscreens suck.

How long DID you wait for Banshee on Opening Day?
MrSaturdayNite replied to BoddaH1994's topic in KI Polls
I waited 3.5-4 hours in line, about an hour at the gate, and about an hour in my car on Kings Island Dr. -
Banshee ride #2 in the books. Ended up in 8-1 again. Awesomeness. This time I rode with my wife who was a coaster chicken until she married me. She loved it too.
-
Seems to me we're moving much faster now. Also, the lines at the gate were fairly long, but at least they were lines this time.
-
Waiting at the gate now with my family. I'm in my Banshee First Rider t-shirt and a DHL visor.
-
Happy Easter Nick.

I had some trouble figuring out how to unbuckle the seat belt, but I was in 8-1, so the op with the mic was right there to let me out. Boy, did I feel dumb.

What a day! What a ride! I'll post more later, but for now, I need to get a little sleep before my shift starts @ 2200. Good night.

I'll keep an eye out. I'm in a green polo, carrying my DHL jacket.
