  1. ^It used to be much worse when it had the OTSR's. Since they were replaced by the lap bars, I haven't really experienced any roughness that I can recall. Although I haven't been to the park since 2011, so it could be a recent issue.
  2. Later on in the article, it lists all 7 of Banshee's inversions. Oops, indeed!
  3. "Ted Tuner?" I can't tell if this a typo or yet another Terp pun!
  4. Between the haunting tales at the park and the now defunct coasters that once stood at or very near Banshee's future location, a spooky-themed ride is perfect.
  5. I called security on the smoker, and even had a pic of his face. I never heard anything else about it.
  6. Speaking from personal experience, those associates have an extremely small window of time to go through the new photos and decide whether or not to moderate. Sometimes, a perfectly fine photo gets blocked and somtimes a rude gesture gets through. The level of multitasking required is incredibly high, especially when you are in the middle of making a sale. -MrSaturdayNite, who once caught a guy smoking on Vortex.
  7. Mmmm... Sweet pretzels from the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT.
  8. As a former swim team member (10 years and 30 lbs ago), water up my nose isn't a terrible issue. But I can't stand laying on my stomach. I'm always worried about my kneecaps popping out, as they have down many times before.
  9. If you are in Mason for your wife's birthday dinner and all you can think about is how close you are to KI. Me right now :/
  10. Back in 2010 or 2011, I went to the park by myself on a weeknight. Unaware of the fireworks policy, I got in line for a night ride on The Beast. I didn't make it onto the ride before the temporary shutdown. Once that was announced, I decided I would bide my time and try to get on the last train. It was then announced that the delay would be extended. After which, the miked ride op and an area supervisor began a game of KI trivia with the crowd that stuck around. Because of my naturally quiet voice, I gave the kids around me the answers rather than try to yell them out myself. Eventually it was announced that The Beast would not reopen that night, but Diamondback would remain open for those of us who had stayed in line throughout the delay. While everyone else fled the station to get to DB ASAP, I calmly meandered my way down the Fast Lane stairwell and out the exit path, stopping to let the guy at the photo booth know that his ride would not reopen. I was still intent on riding the last train of the night on something. In the Diamondback station, I let anyone who got behind me in line for the back row cut ahead of me until it was announced that there would only be 2 more trains. At which point, I was exactly 2 trains away from riding. But then a couple got behind me, assuming that I was the person ahead of me's riding buddy. Wanting to be a good fellow park guest, and only caring about getting on the last train, I gave up my spot and moved a row up. I got to talk with them for a little bit while we waited, boarded and ascended 230 ft into the air and found out they were ACE members from out-of-town. I got to help improve the experience for some fellow enthusiasts while having a memorable experience myself. This is possibly my favorite KI memory, even though my original plan fell through.
  11. @Adventuro: I would assume it's pronounced "oh-sigh-rus." Given the theme of the ride, I think Oziris is either an intentional misspelling or a French translation of Osiris, Egyptian god of the dead.
  12. Looking ahead, I think we'll see a new slide or two in Soak City, something for Planet Snoopy, and maybe a new full-sized flat before we see a new coaster. Of course the attraction lineup we have now is awesome, and will be even better in April 2014. But I don't think there's anything wrong with looking to the future and thinking "What if?"
  13. Looks incredible! But, I may have to start calling it "The Purple Pretzel."
  14. My guesses: If all the evidence we have is correct: Invert. If not, anything is possible. I want a Floorless!
  15. A few years ago, I rode Diamondback as a single rider. I was paired with a first-timer. After the MCBR, she yelled out "Oh, s***! There's more?!"
  16. My mother worked at a Skyline Chili location for almost my entire childhood. To this day, I remain a Skyline Kid at heart!
  17. I voted for The Racer. I really like the updated logo they put in when they turned recaR around.
  18. Wait, there's an announcement tomorrow? About what? ;-)
  19. Oooh. Shipment methods. A topic I'm actually somewhat qualified to speak on! I would assume that game prizes and general park merchandise is made somewhere in Asia. That being said, the freight would likely be ocean shipped in a container (see the pic) or via an express shipper in a plane. If it was express shipped, it would likely arrive in a small brown, yellow, or white truck. Edit: I said "brown" twice. This is what happens when I type with my thumbs.
  20. Regarding why construction started "early," remember that Mr. O said that CF learned a few lessons from Gatekeeper's construction, and then called Ohio Winter the biggest obstacle in completing said construction. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the start of a new trend of earlier construction start dates at CF's more northern parks.
  21. See ThrillBiscuit's avatar for a nicely photoshopped pic of a winged invert concept (Not supporting the idea, just giving TB props for being a PhotoShop ninja).
  22. What color was the track? Blue. I think it's the same piece from the blurry pic that was posted several pages back, but I should point out that I only saw the top of it. Where it would connect with the support. It did resemble the photos of invert transfer track that were posted shortly after the previously mentioned photo. It also looked like a lighter shade of blue.
  23. CSF is bustling with activity this morning. There's at least 3 flatbed trailers parked in the front with a lot of blue supports, and at least one piece of what appears to be inverted transfer track behind the hill with the CSF sign on it.
  24. Only if it's themed to Stargate: Atlantis.
